agenda and refills question?

Just ordered the lined DT insert for the Ulysses MM (yes, I got ANOTHER one...). They should both arrive next week so I will report back on how they like each other. I figure if I introduce them slowly and make them promise to play together nice, we should all get along! Wish us luck:sweatdrop:

^^Got the refill, and everything fits but the snaps. The DT snaps are bigger than the H receptacle (i.e the Hermes snaps are smaller in diameter). Any ideas from the sewing goddesses among us? For what I spent on the DT, I'm not worried about futzing with it...Thanks!

I have what I'm afraid is a very inane question but...I'm considering getting a Ulysse PM Agenda and I was wondering how much paper is in there, ie is it 50 pages, 100? I checked Hermes' website and found the refill but no information about it.

I do a lot of writing so I just want to make sure that it's a (relatively) practical purchase.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

I suggest getting the H refills. Personally I just don't even want to support DayTimers as they have totally knocked off the style of the Ulysse. And half the enjoyment of owning the Ulysse for me is the yummy paper.

I know some don't care if a company knocks something off if the originator's name isn't on it; but I just have always had a dislike for those who are copycats.

Here's a thread from a year ago when I stumbled upon the DT copy: http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/day-timers-copies-ulysse-grrrrr-162409.html

I agree!

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if daytimer makes refills for the PM size? I noticed the pics posted here have 16 rings but my agenda has only 11 so I assume the one posted is an MM size?

I don't see the point in spending $80 on paper for a $250 agenda, sorry! :D

I am happy to buy my agendas (I love them) from Hermes, and I faithfully buy my inserts every year. But I am a scribbler, and I use volumes of paper with my daily notes. It is the only reason I have not yet bought the Ulysse. I have been tempted.

For the moment, I stock up on Bloc Rhodia orange-colored notepads in different sizes whenever I am in France. The paper quality is high, and the price not bad. Before they became available at The Container Store here, my French friends would ask me to bring them these notepads when I went to France.

I digress! On a recent trip to Paris someone (with a connection to H, no less) suggested I buy the Ulysse and look for inserts from a good French paper company called (I may have it wrong) Mignot. Has anyone in Europe heard of these, and would they work?

There was a thread about this a few years back. Another member kindly told me about this possibility and I looked into it back then.
I have a Vision II agenda (about the size of a checkbook). For the past couple of years I've been ordering refills from thedailyplanner.com. I use the Exaplan monthly refill, 3 1/2" x 6 1/4 ". Anything that size would fit, but I like this one because I prefer to have the whole month at a glance. It doesn't have gold edge, but there are some others that do.
It isn't as nice as Hermes paper by any means. But I have no problem using it, especially since I consider it disposable. If I remember correctly, it's very inexpensive, under $10 not including delivery.

Oh...thanks for this tamarind!!! I got a planner insert from Levengers that fits my VisionII, but the customer service was SO BAD, and the shipping took forever.

Besides the price, the other thing about the H vision refills is the other parts that I waste, the plain paper, the map, etc., and of course I can never figure out when the american holidays are.....I am glad there is an alternative to levengers for next year.
