Earlier this week I revealed a new bag, a beautiful Turquoise Whipstitch Rogue 58116 BP MIW, that I got for a great deal. The bag was gorgeous and I really loved it, but after I got home I realized that it was quite similar to my other Rogue in the Dark Denim color. I have a bad habit of buying similar bags and consequently end up wasting money and closet space on bags that I don't use very often, so I have been trying to be very selective about bag purchases, and to avoid buying similar bags.

I was really torn, part of me wanted to keep it - because it was beautiful and I got it for a great deal - and part of me wanted to exchange it for a bag that was very different from anything else that I own. A lot of TPFers gave me great advice and I was leaning toward keeping it, but deep down inside I knew that I liked the blue denim Rogue better and I would probably reach for it most often and not wear the Turquoise very much.

So I studied the bags on Coach.com - both on sale and regular price and found one that really intrigued me. It was also a beautiful bag and quite unlike anything else I own - but I had never seen it IRL and wasn't sure about it. I stopped at the Coach boutique near my job yesterday and fell hard for it, so I exchanged my turquoise rogue for the new bag.

Any idea what I've got now? I'll give you a hint, it was more expensive than the turquoise rogue!

Good choice! It's completely different, and I can see it filling a different niche in your wardrobe. I love the burgundy accents.

Thanks, and it was still a good deal! The retail price was $995 but it was reduced to $597, and that was only $87 more than the turquoise rogue that retailed at $850 but was reduced to $510 - and I still benefited from the discounts I used to originally buy the turquoise bag including the $225 off for returning a gift and $150 off for a merchandise credit for a defective product. My out-of-pocket expense for the Rivets bag was $243 instead of $156 for the turquoise - still very good!

Here are some pics of the inside:

@okdot will be amazed when she learns that I actually bought an oxblood bag and that I plan to keep it! I have flirted with oxblood a few times in the past - because it is a color that I don't have - but it just never worked out; but this bag has a bit more red/maroon color in it - instead of looking just muddy brown - and the red suede lining really sets it off - plus the rivet and bead embellishments add interest IMO.

Here's a picture with the flash on so you can see the colors a little better. I have been experimenting with different fobs - and haven't found a perfect fit yet - right now I am using the guitar pendant because it goes well with the lining, but I am not sure that I will stick with that one.

The different colored rivets make it so you can mix metals. The bag is pretty busy all ready so I would stick with a simple fob, maybe something metal to match the rivets.

LOVE your choice! Bag twins, and thank you for confirming I also made the right choice. I bought mine in November, and also went back and forth between this one and the turquoise. I was drawn to the whipstitch handles - but also to the prairie rivets. The SA's all voted for the prairie rivets......... and here she sat. Last night I finally pulled the tag and removed all of the white styrofoam (stuff?). Funny how seeing someone else's pictures affirmed I love her! And the color goes with so much more!
