Check out this month's (April) Lucky magazine. The special guide of the month was all about handbags. There's a couiple of pages devoted to carry-ons and one covering woven bags that would be great for the beach!

You might want to check out Target for a beach bag... since you are flying you might want to carry/pack something that is light and foldable. Also, since it is meant for the beach you might want to look for something that you wouldn't mind getting dirty w/ sand and salty water. I live in CA near the beach... I definitely do not want to bring anything expensive esp b/c it's eventually going to get dirty/trashed just from using it all summer. HTH

Wow! You guys are awesome! I have a bunch of ideas now! Out of curiosity, who makes nice and reasonably priced (around $150) carry on bags for the airplane? Not too big. I was looking at KS and Coach. Who else? Thanks!

I had this on my shoulder yesterday. I love playing at the mall. Comfortable, not too big, nice and light, and well constructed!

Hello again from CA! I just re-read my previous post and realized I gave you hypocritical advice... I've never even purchased a bag from Target, but I do know they have alot of summery (inexpensive) bags.

For me, I prefer not to purchase expensive bags for the beach b/c of the sand, water, sunscreen gunk, the fact that I leave it unsupervised on the beach when in the water and it's seasonal.

I've found great beach and travel bags at places like Nordstrom Rack, Off Sixth Ave, TJ Maxx and Marshall's. You can find Marc Jacobs, Juicy, DVF, Ralph Lauren, TUMI, Nine West, CK, Kenneth Cole, Samsonite, etc...

For travel I'm a bit boring and practical... I like TUMI, US Airways, Samsonite bags b/c they are light-weight, very durable, strong, last for years... plus they can carry a crap load and still hold their shape. (bought mine at Nordstrom Rack, TJ and ebay) Also, I'm not afraid of dirt, rain, snow, to place it on the ground or in the overhead, unlike my Balenciaga! (I carry on both my purse & travel bag)

Macys.com has DVF travel totes on sale
