Adding own diamonds to Love Bracelet?

If you was to customise it & you ever sent it to Cartier for repair or polishing they would remove the diamonds & put the bracelet back to how it should be I know a few friends who customised Cartier watches & this happened to them they also had to pay to have the watch put back to how it was originally...... I would never customise anything thing but instead I'd use the diamonds to have a piece of jewellery made.

I don't know, I don't really see the issue with it! But I am not against after-market work. I have gotten the same reaction on wanting to add diamonds to the face of my chanel watch-- everyone says i am nuts as it will void the warranty, be risky, etc etc. If I can find a jeweler who has experience doing similar projects, I will move forward with it. So I will suggest the same to you! If you find someone *very good* at working with cartier pieces (sometimes Neiman Marcus will divulge the outside jeweler they use and you can contact them separately under the table) and you don't care that Cartier will never repair/fix it in the future, go for it!

On the other hand, if you can find an amazing jeweler capable of doing this work, you may as well have them make an entirely new bangle to look like a fake Cartier one with the diamonds-- then you can wear both together!

Good luck.
Thank you for your suggestions........
I have a Rolex that has had an after-market diamond bezel added and I think it looks great.
The dollar mark-up for diamonds on the love bracelets seems VERY out of proportion.
I would not take them to Cartier and expect (or ask) them to add diamonds - I would speak to my own jeweller and have him look at it after examining pictures online.
However, after all the opinions expressed here on TPF, I am going to take some time and think about it before deciding on anything.......
I do like the 3 stone necklace and I will ask my jeweller about that as well.
I appreciate hearing all of the different opinions :-)

I'd put in my own diamonds if I had a jeweler who's work was reliable...i would assume that jeweler could also handle any repairs needed on the bracelet in the future. I never take my Cartier watch to Cartier for batteries or cleaning anyway, my watch guy does an awesome job at a fraction of the cost

Would love to hear of anyone who did Love bracelet gemstone additions after market...

Hi Everyone,
I am going to talk to my jeweller and if he feels he can do this successfully, I will go ahead and put 4 stones in my plain RG LOVE BRACELET.
Thanks for the imput :smile1:
I'll post pics if it all works out :okay:

Curiously bumping up this thread and adding... Has anyone done this, added diamionds to their love bracelet from an outside jeweler? If so how was your experience and what was the final outcome and look? Pictures would be greatly appreciated:yes:

I added diamonds to my JUC bracelet and I also resized it half size up. I don’t really understand why you would care about Cartier polishing, it’s a 5 minute job every jeweler can make. . I added diamonds to my JUC because both sizes didn’t perfectly fit me, so I made 16.5 for myself, and as it has been already altered, it made sense to add diamonds.

But to tell you the truth, instead of buying new Cartier and then adding diamonds to it, it would make a lot more sense to buy a dupe at the very beginning. Love is super easy to make and you can find amazing copies. How did you alter the size?
