Very scary aalinne_72! What does the zipper look like?

No logo stamp on the zippers, look like these...
(I don't know if they even deliberately copied this, because we all now Lampo fake zippers exist as well..)
Thank to a nice tpfer who found this for me :smile1:

And thank to another tpfer who told me that second number of my serial"2372" corresponded to "Seigle" color :)

So is there a colour code thread here as well? Or is it just the style numbers that are consistent? Sorry I am still learning!

First and third numbers are consistent but not the second one which belongs to another color produced by Balenciaga as well for 2010 F/W pre-season. Kind a light Brown. So mine pink shade should be Pivoine imitation one.

hhawkmothh, you're correct- this *is* a fake; the rivet shot leaves no doubt to that. Perhaps you can print out a pic of what a rivet *should* look like and show it to the manager. (I have no idea what the tag looks like, but I'm guessing since the counterfeiter got the rivet so wrong, the tag will have some obvious discrepancies as well.)
I disagree somewhat with the last poster in the sense that fakes can very easily show up in "well-known" retail stores like TJ Maxx. A clever counterfeiter can do a kind of 'bait-and-switch'- buy the real thing, buy a counterfeit that looks just like it, switch the tags and return the fake to the store. Many salespeople can't differentiate a real bag from a fake; more so with a second-hand retailer like TJ Maxx. I have also never heard of a bunch of Bal's showing up at one time (i.e. a bunch of seconds dumped for discount prices).
So while you can find authentic Bal's at a TJ Maxx, you can just as easily find what you did- a fake worth next to nothing.
The return of fake goods can't be done 'in store' because TJMaxx states on their designer listings that the bags cannot be returned in store (for obvious reasons). SA's can't distinguish real from fake so the customer of the authentic goods must return them from whence they came. I would imagine that TJMaxx has a crew who can look over their returns to make sure their authentic......at least one would hope so!

Makes it just that much harder for the crooks!

Both these bags are indeed awful fakes, but I just want to quickly point out that Bal used that zipper on their earlier bags up until FW 2003 (of course the real ones are a shinier than this fake and don't have that awful pull-tab that dangles out either!!) I'm not going to generalize and say all of 2002 or 2003 used it because Bal is known for their inconsistencies, but for the most part you'll find that old "script" Lampo zipper on those earlier bags of 2002-2003 up until FW and then they predominantly switch over to the "lightning bolt" Lampos:) I've seen on so many blogs where people mark that first zipper as a tell-tale for a fake bag and it's not always the case (although most fakes do have them). Sometimes you can even get a bag with both types of zippers :) A lot of my 2002-2003 bags have this type of zipper (all of my Firsts, not all the Cities) and all my 2004 bags start to use the most popular lightning bolt one! Just wanted to add that in so someone doesn't think an old bag is fake just because of a zipper :p
