A handbag that won't be mistaken for a fake

OP, I live in a country where fakes proliferate - LV, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Coach, MK, Longchamps, Ferragamo, etc. There are bad fakes and there are what they call Class A or even Class AAA fakes - very good ones. I, too, sometimes get dissuaded to buy real ones lest they be mistaken for fakes. Although, in general, for as long as I know what I am carrying is authentic then I don't care what others would think.

Anyway, my suggestion is, if you really want to know what styles and brands are being faked where you are, either go to these stores selling fake or observe around. Not all styles from a brand are faked. So you can still buy from a certain brand.

From my own personal observation, Fendi non-logos are not faked here (or at least they are not everywhere), maybe Mulberry, Chloe, Alexander McQueen, some Saint Laurent, Givenchy. I think the most prone to counterfeiting are the logo ones. HTH.

This! Loewe is a great brand.

Another option, I think, is to buy a plastic bag from the supermarket and use that; if fakes are a mainstream thing, it doesn't matter what you buy, there will always be someone thinking your bag might be one of the fake ones as well. Fakes aren't all that uncommon where I live either, especially lots of MK and LV around, which people bring from Estonia and Turkey. It's put me off both brands.
Then again, just the other week as I was traipsing down the street, I heard a snobby-looking woman tell her friend that my Ledbury was a "low grade fake Bayswater" and that I must be "an uneducated idiot for thinking nobody would notice since my bag is, like, a third of the size of a real Bays". Yeah. I managed to bite my tongue that time and didn't educate the loudmouth idiot on Mulberry and how to behave in public...I deserve a medal. Or an ice cream. Or both. With chocolate on top.

:hugs:

Take both, you've well and truly earned them!

:woohoo:

I have some birthday money and would like to buy a designer handbag.
Fake handbags are common where I live. Several brandS - LV, Chanel, Michael Kors, Prada, Mulbery, Burberry and many others.
If I'm going to invest in a designer bag I would rather people who aren't aware don't think it is a fake.

My head tells me you should go with whichever bag your  most desires (after all it's your B-day money :queen: ) but I understand totally what you mean.

Where I live, fake Hermes (nearly always Birkins and Evelynes) are 'everywhere'. As others have already pointed out, there are fakers of almost every brand regardless of the original's price, but the more popular models of each brand give the impression of being faked because we see them more often.

I'd go with the advice of buying a lesser-known model, but one you still absolutely love, be able to use practically everyday and the company has good aftercare service so it lasts you a long time. Maybe just go shopping just to look and try on in every store that appeals and return when you're 100% sure.

As previous posters have said, visit stores that sell fakes to familiarize yourself with the bag models that are faked often.

I live walking distance to a major complex that is known for selling fake bags (as in foreign tourists come with photos of the bags they want) so I see what's faked. Sadly even MK and KS are being faked!

I have had people ask me if my bags were fake, and I just look back, and with a bit of attitude say "I don't buy fakes!!"

Mulberry Willow, Alexa and Bayswater are their most copied styles, but I'm waiting on the surge of fake Caras on the market. It's a very popular style and I think it's only a matter of time when the fake makers realise that.

I second what CaviarChanel said - it's not your problem what others think of you.

I'm new the pf but I would definitely say by what u like its ur birthday whether a person thinks it's real or fake it's your damn money buy what makes you smile [emoji13]ps lady that held her tongue I agree it ice cream and still tell her off some people think that only one group can have many but in this world if u work hard everyone or anyone can be rich

I totally agree, not sure I could have held my tongue in that particular instance....reward yourself!!!!!!:happydance:

Oh it helps when you bite your tongue real hard - it wasn't easy to hold my mouth shut but I think any words would have been wasted on someone who's rude enough to say what she said...and that applies to anyone's opinion of a lady with a bag that she loves. If someone carries an obvious fake, that does change the way I feel about them, but voicing those opinions is not okay. And vice versa, if someone thinks your real designer piece is fake, why should you waste your time worrying what they think of you?

Still haven't gotten around to treating myself but I think a freshly baked scone w/ strawberry&rose jam and whipped cream will be on my agenda this week! :happydance:
