This may be a bad idea for a thread...or at least bad way to do it, lol! :p

So, I know we have all sorts of threads on older lines, but I'm searching for a way to revive talk about some of the past lines that some of us have known and loved. I know things change, and people move on, but T-Girl's "out of touch" thread kind of got me thinking about this, and I see no reason why we can't resurrect some of the talk from the past since this forum is not just about the latest and greatest thing from Coach! I didn't want to title the thread "Pre-Garcia Legacy" talk because then...well.... that would just be for me :D, lol, and I want to make this thread about EVERYONE who has loved and enjoyed some line (or lines) from Coach that are now a distant memory in some cases.

I'm not really trying to put a time limit on this because as far as I'm concerned that's up to the individual, just like "age" is really a state of mind (I am so NOT old, lol). :p I also hesitate to label this thread "for older Coachies" because reading recent threads, I realize that term is confusing even for me. Do we mean older in personal age, time spent on forum and what "time" really qualifies as an "old" member, and just the lines from Coach (are the lines discussed really "OLD" or just discontinued)?? To me being on the forum for several years might be old or not, depending on how you look at it, and as far as lines go, to me a 2005 line is not really OLD..just discontinued. I don't consider myself an "old Coach enthusiast" at all, because I really got into Coach in a major way only around 2005...which is really not that long ago IMO. Ok, I'm babbling (as usual..happens ALL THE TIME), lol, but hopefully you see my point. :p I didn't want to put an age or time label on this, but of course we can if you like. This is a starting point.

My real hope with this thread is to just get people involved again...especially those members that feel they don't really have a place on the forum right now. I want all of the "older":D members to know that you guys are still very important here, and you have a LOT of knowledge that's worth sharing with newer Coach enthusiasts!! I know it's hard to relate to threads a lot of the time, and I'm all for just letting live and moving on. I think that's what we have to do, and while I don't really post on many threads here in general, that honestly has more to do with time that I just don't have rather than interest in doing so. I can usually find a common barrier with someone over something because I like a lot of different styles, but I realize that not everyone can. I DO understand the feeling of being left out and having no common thread, though, and I feel bad that is the case sometimes on here. Anyway, the bottom line is people can post as many reveal threads as they want about the same bag in every color, and it is TOTALLY welcome... kwim?? But that doesn't mean that others can't post threads that interest them as well...and it can be new or old Coach topics!! So we should ALL feel comfortable!!

As we all know with Coach, because they produce SO MANY bags, it becomes "out of sight, out of mind" with bags that are even a year or so old! That doesn't mean these bags are not still some of the best creations ever!! So let's talk about them!! I have an example that I want to post, but I will have to do that later since time doesn't permit now...but it's a bag that's a few years old that a SA asked me what brand it was when I walked in the Coach boutique last year! It's like the "Who are the Beatles?" question my husband sometimes gets at the university, lol.

Anyway... You can share info about lines, post pics, whatever!! Maybe even share some of the little known facts and limited pieces. ANYTHING!!! Please remember that pics are always worth a thousand words too!! This is for any line that YOU loved that has been discontinued. I hope some of our more seasoned Coachies will love this and participate, and if we need to break this thread up and start others (maybe by time line or in some other way), we can do that. Or even change the thread topic a bit...i'm totally game! Hopefully this is a starting point?!

P.S.... Ok... Is this worthwhile or really stupid?? I know we have had similar threads, lol.

I think this is a great topic!!! I for one have bags sitting in my closet that are merely a year or two old that are being neglected! Its crazy. I vow to start showing my older bags the love that they deserve again. Luckily, nothing new is catching my eye at the moment...nothing that I can AFFORD anyways!

I love the old "lunchbox" bags... 9991, love the bean-bag key chain fobs! Love the older canvas lines (in both the cross body's and the totes/satches), LOVE the older mini-skinny's that resemble half of a wallet and half of a mini skinny with the key ring on them!

This is a GREAT thread Baglady39!! T-girl's thread also got me thinking and I posted a few random questions that I thought everyone could answer last night because, I am one of those who feels like I don't have much to say anymore and wanted to try to start up something that everyone could paticipate in but, your idea is MUCH better than mine!
I also think the Coach subforum shouldn't only be about the latest and greatest bags from Coach. There is A LOT of love around here for the older styles and now we have a place to talk about them, YAY!!!

I just bought a black belted hobo. I think they were from 1995. I love some of the older bags and need to focus on acquiring the ones on my list instead of focusing on new bags. I can get 2-3 older bags for the price of 1 new one!

I haven't seen your thread, hon! I'm so sorry about that! If it's a dup, let me know and I can close this one, but it's good to have multiple threads that hopefully everyone will find some common ground.

I, like A LOT of other's here, LOVE the '06 & '07 legacy lines. I also love the bleecker bags from that time period. I really liked the older hamptons line. I really miss my Hampton's carryall
It's really funny because, I remember the day I bought this carryall. I was at Von Maur and it was going to be the first time I'd ever purchased anything Coach brand new from the store ( all my other Coach items had come from consignment or ebay ). I looked around that store forever and I remember seeing the Bleecker Duffle's hanging on the sale rack and I did NOT like them at all. I didn't like the big round bottom of them, something about the shape of them, didn't sit right with me at the time. I ended up buying this Carryall and after over a year or so, started really liking those darn bleecker duffles. I ended up buying my Medium Bleecker duffle from a seller on ebay and it has quickly become one of my all time favorite Coach bags.
It's amazing how I went from not liking Anything about that bag to it being one of my favs!

Signature bag is the Hamtons carryall that I bought that day. I recently sold that bag and highly regret it.
I also attached a pic of my Bleecker duffle.

I joined tPf quite a while ago, I think I stumbled across it because I was looking something up, but I wasn't used to the format & kind of "forgot" it. Then I stumbled upon it recently, again, during the recent coupon blitz & started participating. Now I haven't been on the other forums that led me here in a long while.

I remember what you would call the old coach lines from my teenage years, well before the internet, when we got catalogs mailed to the house. I remember pouring over them, but I never bought anything. These would be the "old" Willis bags, the oval bucket style, (don't remember the name sorry), something I think they called a stewardess bag, that sort of thing. I remember the leathers being thick & luscious colors: mahogany, navy camel, black & a "yellow" color I've forgotten the name of.

I really started buying Coach at the outlet near me this June & have, embarrassingly, put together enough of a collection that I really don't need to be buying more. My tastes developed a lot over these several months too & many of my earlier purchases went back as I learned from the tPf-ers what to look for in a bag & what really worked for me.

For example I never would have tried the wristlets as wallets w/o the tPfers & I learned terminology like MFF & legacy lining. Now I am holding out for items that are of better materials or with features I like.

Thanks to tpF-ers I can appreciate a comment such as the older Sophie line looks like a recent release, but is maybe better made. Sorry I forget the name of the newer line.
Due to our discussion here I found Bonanzle & bought a Sophie.

I bought that gorgeous purple patent Bleeker that Bunny posted about & it became my avatar. There is something about the "Bleecker" line that I really like, because every time someone posts something I like & I don't know what it is, it seems to end up being a Bleecker.

Sorry this is so long & baglady, I have a feeling this isn't really what you were looking for. But at least maybe other people will answer & not feel they have the longest most rambling post!

Oh no, I just posted a few random questions, like a survey type of thing, I was just attempting to maybe get some people involved. I like this one much better but, the 2 threads are of different nature, totally different topics so, I'm sure both should be able to stay open.

I haven't seen your thread, hon! I'm so sorry about that! If it's a dup, let me know and I can close this one, but it's good to have multiple threads that hopefully everyone will find some common ground.

I am crazy for Legacy and Bleecker. I keep hoping something might get returned to an outlet. I love my Bleecker duffle, and keep kicking myself for passing up a large ink duffle at the outlet. :crybaby:

I am crazy about the original legacy striped anything! I have seen the newer stripes at the outlet and they do nothing for me!

I purchased my first original legacy piece off the bay, my white leather Ali. I saw it in the celebrity thread and had to have it. Then I was able to get my hands on a few other pieces at the outlet when they had some crazy deals- Gigi, Leigh, shoulder bag, shoulder flap. I decided that Gigi and Leigh were too big and heavy for me. I kept one of my two shoulder bags (camel was just too light for me) and decided I wasn't wild about the huge flap on the shoulder flap. I think these bags are all still beautiful, but they would sit in my closet if I had them.

I want to get more of the Ali and shoulder bag. I'd probably get every color if I could, but I can't. The thick gorgeous looking (and smelling) leather with the beautiful hardware and then the cherry on top is the legacy lining. This forum started an unhealthy addiction. LOL.

So question- when you say pre-Garcia legacy, this is the legacy you are talking about right (06-07)? Garcia leather came out afterwards right?
