A bit of a rant...Why I hate thieves...

It's rotten people like that who make it harder for the rest of us. I agree with the previous poster that if the bags are locked up on leashes, that usually ends any interest I have in checking them out for possible purchase. I know why they need to be locked up but I just don't want to deal with it. The worst is Off Fifth, where they have alarms on them that go off if you so much as breathe in their direction. Bleah.

I was a foreign exchange student coming up on 3 years ago, and, one of the girls I made friends with (we both went thru the same private company to find us host parents) was a complete kelpto! I didn't realize it until half way thru the year, she finally told me, and the thing that killed me is that her dad was a doctor and could afford anything she wanted! She almost got caught once when we were in London, some guards came and took her as we were all walking out of a grocery store (found out later she stole vodka) but, they nabbed her for buying alcohol underage (finally let her go, w/ alcohol in hand, they released her in exchange for her phone number). I was scared for myself as well, I had no idea she had taken anything, she told us later, and I could have been guilty be association! I tried to avoid hanging out with her after that incident, but, it just shows that it's not just people who can't afford things, it the people that can afford things that steal too!

stuff like this makes me laugh, like ironically. do they not have any concious?? i feel bad and guilty about things that i didnt even do! let alone stuff that i actually did. karma scares the hell out of me lol.

yup, you read it right. The guy that nabbed her was a little bit older than us and asked her for her #. They had no idea she stole the vodka, they took her to the back room b/c she purchased other alcohol under the age of 18. They never found out about the vodka, and she didn't tell us why they nabbed her, or that she took vodka, until we were on the way back to our hotel, about 20 mins after they released her. She was lucky they released her, she could have ended up in a LOT of trouble with the law overseas.
