Let me preface - I'm not doing this now! As many of you know, I plan and obsess my big purchases for 6 months before I pull the trigger! My lovely SA from Saks just called today. The new titanium J12s just arrived and were not even displayed yet. The 38mm plain automatic is $6300. I thought it was going to be $5600 or $5700. She says it is TDF! At Christmas time - should I get the new J12 or for that amount - should I go for a mid-size rolex with a MOP face? TIA!

Will you wear these regularly? Do you have something vaguely similar to either? If yes to the latter, Id save the money. But then again I got all cheap all the sudden HAHA!

I need a watch like a hole in the head! I really don't spend anything on clothing, bags, shoes, electronics, etc. But I'm so watch-obsessed. I have a long time to think about it. The new J12s just launched and rolex isn't going anywhere.

I would say, get what you LOVE!! but Rolex do hold more value over time and I would go with a Rolex over J12 anyday due to Rolex being a much superior quality and better timekeeper. Unless you already own a rolex watch or watches, then go with something different if that's what your heart says. IMO, stick with Rolex or try something different like Patek Philippe :love:

Hokaplan - since you like watches, I think you should add JLC or Patek Phillipe into your collection. Both rectangular watches are popular, Reverso and 24. Perhaps a change from your current round face watches?

Hokaplan - have you seen the new j12 in person? They look nice but I prefer the ceramic j12s that you have already. I am not a big fan of the titanium look...it looks a little cheap to me (or I am just not used to the glossy gunmetal look yet. It looks very trendy). And for the price I'd rather get stainless steel...and a Rolex haha. Or as others have mentioned, since you are a watch aficionado you should look into other brands like vacheron or patek.

I was looking at mid size rolex with MOP face yesterday and they were over $10,000. These were the two toned. Were you thinking of all stainless? I wish the two toned with MOP was around 6000, I just cant justify 10,000. Especially as the one I was looking at had no diamonds! I cant believe how high these have gone.

No new J12. It looks like bright silver IRL. Kinda cheap. In pics, it looks gorgeous. I vote Rolex over a J12 any time!
I own a J12 and never ever use it. I should sell it, but I keep thinking I will wear it.
