Just landed another Bigmouth on the bay. It's green with blue thread. The strange thing is, it has a double zipper inside pocket. Any idea of the color and year? My other Bigmouths have single zipper pockets.

I'm not seeing it in the completed listings. Normally green with blue stitching is evergreen. If I'm not mistaken that was 2006/07. You could ask on their facebook.

Congrats Queenie. You've got amazing luck.

Scored an awesome Berry Bigmouth on the bay for a ridiculous price! I think the picture she put up, showing a mark on the back, was deceiving. There was a big shadow from the camera (or phone) and at first I thought that was the mark. I bet a lot of others thought the same and that stopped them from bidding. I resolved myself to accept it if that were actually the mark, but it wasn't! Woohoo! :D

Wow, congrats on both to you lucky.:ghi5:I checked out that Berry Bigmouth on my Blackberry (say that 5 times fast) and immediately passed because of that shadow!

Queenie - the patent coating on 49 SQ mi bags is pretty thick and can make them heavy. They are really beautiful. I have a red patent wallet. I'd wonder if the coating might crack. I did see a few used bags at the sample sale that had spots of cracking where the handles attach and on that top interior edge of the big mouth. It may be that it's only a problem if you really load up the bag though.

Queenie- The only problems I've seen in patent bags is transfer. They seem to get colors transferred to them easy. IDK if that was only because I was looking at bags on the sale racks at von maur. Do do seem really nice though.

Hmmm, I had considered the cracking issue, but hadn't thought about color transfer. I have a feeling that it would sit on a shelf, uncarried. Maybe I'll give it a day or two and rethink it then. The colors they have are turquoise and fuschia.

Uh oh. So, when I got the green Bigmouth, I noticed a little greasy spot on the front. I went over the whole bag with the Wilson Wipes. Now, a day later after drying completely, the leather is much darker and no longer "like buttah." It's almost crunchy. :crybaby: What have I done?

You haven't done anything - you cleaned it and it sounds as though the original owner did not treat it with anything. Now, put conditioner on it - do you have Coach conditioner? That would work - or whatever you usually use.

Wow. Whatever I usually use to treat them? I'm supposed to do that? Sheesh. No wonder I am constantly buying more bags! I'll look through the cabinet. There's got to be something in there.

GAH! Don't scare me like this - make sure you use something especially for bags, don't go putting neat's foot oil or anything like that on it - Lovin My Bag's makes something WONDERFUL called "Silk Serum" ... Wilson's has a conditioning lotion ... as does Coach. If you aren't sure if what you have is suitable, post the name of it here. Otherwise, if you leave near a Coach store, go get some Coach conditioner (and it won't be at the Outlets, but the regular Coach store.) If you can wait, order a bottle of Silk Serum from Lovin My Bags, it's magical stuff!!!

I found some Wilson's TLC and Kiwi Leather Lotion under the sink. Either of those do anything?
