Another vote for the two tag RTT suggested. It is small enough to wear every day and even layer with other chains for a more dramatic look but equally as beautiful and eye catching on its own. I have the plain RTT heart tag and wore than as an every day necklace for quiet a while and still put it out every now and again because it reflects light so beautifully right at the neck. I love to wear it when I'm layering clothing or wearing a scarf because it is always peeking through and reflecting the light. I love it!

Btw, did u wear it as a necklace or on a bracelet? I heard that it has greater danger of dropping on a bracelet but not so much as a necklace. Maybe it doesnt get banged around so much. Is it true?

Bracelet. Maybe it's true the chances are lower to fall as a necklace. Good luck!!

I think tarnishing totally depends on body chemistry. I've not had to polish any of my Tiffany silver jewelry. Have had it for years. No tarnish.

Yes, i agree that it is probably a body chemistry thing. Most of my silver jewellery does not tarnish if i wear them regularly, but those which i don't wear will tarnish after a while. I guess the trick to keeping them shiny is to wear them more :smile1:

I like the little two tag RTT that was suggested. If not that then I like the heart tag pendant by itself. The one with the key seems nice in theory but I could see the key scuffing up the heart unevenly. I can deal with patina on SS but not if it's only on half of the piece. I have never had problems with Tiffany silver and tarnish. Maybe it is a skin chemistry thing or a matter of storage and climate but my pieces always stay shiny. Nice that you are getting another present so close to X mas!

Yes, good point, thanks. It will look weird if half the heart is more scratched than the other half!

Thanks! Yes, i like the simplicity of the plain RTT heart tag too.

I'm now more inclined towards this and the heart padlock. Just need to decide between these 2! :smile1:

I have over 40 pieces with never any tarnish or issues. Tiffany silver is superior in my eyes.
My suggestions:

RRT heart bracelet
Bean necklace
RRT heart tag necklace with teal on backside
Loving heart necklace
Bow necklace.

Good luck with your shopping and have fun!!

Just chiming in here on the tarnish issue to reassure you: the tarnish of Tiffany silver is linked to their turquoise "tarnish treated" storage bags. I switched to plastic zips and no more tarnish.

I second the bean necklace. A classic piece.

If you are set on the padlock you could always get it soldered shut. There was a charm bracelet thread a while back where a lot of people did that because they kept losing their locks.

Hi all,

My hubby is getting me a small gift, just because ....but as it's just after Christmas, i want to keep it small & simple, and i've decided to keep it within the budget of $300, or lower, if i can manage it :p.

I told him i want a sterling silver necklace/pendant from Tiffany. He was actually quite surprised I chose silver over gold, but I explained that with the current price of gold now (i wear mostly 18k and above due to skin sensitivity issues, but i have no problems with ss), i'd most likely only be able to get designs that are very thin & flimsy and not very well made. i had been shopping around the local jewellers & nothing has struck my fancy. On the other hand, i think i will be able to find a silver piece from Tiffany which i'll enjoy much more.

I've narrowed it down to a few choices but it still seems like a lot, and i'm hoping you ladies can give me some opinions and suggestions:

1. The rtt heart tag

2. Rtt heart padlock

This was initially my 1st choice, but i've been told that the lock opens up by itself sometimes. Does anyone have that problem? Do you think this piece can be easily lost? I don't want to have to worry about it.

3. Rtt heart tag with key

4. Silver box charm

As you can see, i rather like the RTT line :p, so the 1st 3 choices are quite similar. I guess i'd be happy with any of them. But i've also always liked the gift box charm too!

Are there other designs i should consider? Should i go for a 0.03 ss dbty instead? It is within my budget but i don't know if 0.03 is too small. (The store didn't have any of that in stock for me to try). I never thought it'll be so hard to decide even with such a small budget! Suggestions would be very welcomed!! :smile1:
My 2 cents: Since you like gold, look at the Paloma Picasso Dot Charm. It comes in a variety of stones and it is in your budget. Go to a store to see it. It is stunning in person. The pictures on the internet do not do justice!

In sterling silver you have plenty of choices in your budget. Man In The Moon pendant is nice and different. Elsa Peretti mini bottles are also different and the mini size is perfect. They look small on the web site, but when you try them on in the store you realize that they are just the perfect size. I also like her Madonna pendant. Paloma Picasso has nice options in your price range also.
And for a classic bracelet, you can not go wrong with the Venetian Link one or the toggle bracelet.

From all the options you listed, I would personally go for the silver box charm. Elegant, classic and timeless!
