A little more information. My e-ring is round but because it is the Tiffany Victoria, it looks different from a round solitaire e-ring. If I go with the round, I want it plain and simple so I will probably go with the tradition solitaire design. If I go with cushion, I will get a setting similar to the Tiffany Novo. Thoughts?

I would still personally take a cushion. My vote was even taking into consideration the carat weight. It's less about the size versus the shape. I think a cushion is more fitting for a rhr versus a round solitaire. I think a round solitaire paired with your current engagement ring might make people think you are wearing the rings in reverse, engagement on right hand and the left hand is the extra ring (if that makes sense). Also, The pave on the sides of the novo will make a more even look in my option since your engagement ring has diamond accents.

Have you tried on either in person?

Tried on the solitaire in person and the 2.0 round looks huge and gorgeous. Going to Tiffany to try on the Novo tomorrow :D

Another vote for cushion. Cushions can be tricky sometimes, however, because there are so many different ways of cutting them. Are you looking at cushion brilliant cuts similar to the Novo, or are you more into various types of modified cushion brilliant?

CB and MCB can be quite different in price. I personally prefer the CB more.

You could always get a RB solitaire if that is what you desire and switch it out with your current e-ring. I think RHRs are great but then I wonder if it'd be too much bling?? I know, what a silly question, but sometimes it's inconvenient wearing two large diamonds. I love cushions but then I also love RBs. Tough choice. I think you will know which shape speaks to you more when you try the novo later today ;) Pick what you love most!

I like both RB and cushions, idk I have a hard time choosing between the two for you. It really depends on what you like!
Happy Anniversary!

Another vote for Cushion since I already wear a round on my ering. :)

I want to thank everyone for all your help during my search. I finally made the purchase today and I can't wait to pick up the diamond.
Whoops, I tried on the Novo but it didn't really speak to me. I guess I wanted a wow factor and the cushion just wasn't big enough.
Wendy_Bruin I was looking for Cushion Brilliant but a good one was hard to find plus I couldn't get over the fact that it appears so much smaller than the round.
Thanks Lily25, I guess I am a bit more traditional so I prefer the round.
Thanks kohl_mascara, you always give really good advice. As soon as I put on the round, I knew that was for me.
So in the end I picked a ...............
GIA RB
2.01 VS2 E, triple excellent with no fluorescence, my husband up the budget to make this happen and I am super excited. Now I need to decide if I am going to order the Vatche Swan or the Varna Flora. I only want a Solitaire design, with or without pave. If anyone has a better suggestion, please let me know. I need to order the setting on Tuesday at the latest.

Ame, I was lucky enough to find a local Vatche authorized dealer nearby who can order the Swan and set it for me. He said the order typically takes 2 weeks and the most he had waited was 3 weeks. I have a month before our wedding anniversary so if I order the Vatche on Tuesday, there shouldn't be a a problem. Thanks for the headsup though and I am sorry about your experience but glad everything worked out in the end!
Again, thanks everyone! :yahoo:

wow! Sounds like quite the beautiful "wow" diamond! Excellent specs from what it sounds. Between the two settings I like the second one better personally because the swan doesn't appeal to me. Out of the vatche settings I like the Caroline the best as a solitaire.

But for such a gorgeous stone have you considered custom. I know you are on a deadline so hopefully it can be done but I really like mark morrell and Steven kirsch designs recently. Really nice fluid designs with and without pave. Look em up and keep us updated! Can't wait to see pictures!

OMG Vivian - you are SO LUCKY!!!! That diamond sounds beyond beautiful! I love pave so I choose the second (assuming it's the Varna Flora). The setting is spectacular and I don't think it'd compete with your center diamond. Anyway, I am so excited to see what you pick and what the finished product will look like! :yahoo:!!

Congratulations! I think you made the right choice. I used to wear 2 diamonds (my 1.7 e ering princess on one hand and a 2 ct. RB on my other hand). I didn't think it was too much bling. Although I did get asked stupid things like "have you been married twice". Dumb because who would wear their ex's e ring with their current enagement ring).

Anyway, I love the second setting and I am not one that normally likes pave. Congratulations again!

Congratulations! I vote for the second setting. Can't wait to see your gorgeous stone in the setting you decide on.

On a side note, I agree that cushion brilliants in a good size with great specs are very difficult to come by. It takes patience and the right jeweler to source them for you. Maybe you can start looking now for your next big anniversary?
