I always order an extra canvas strap for my Kellys~Hermes will make them if you ask nicely (and for a fee and an appropiate Hermes-time wait, of course!1) and it gives you the option as Renee has above, makes even a hertofore dressy bag more casual.

All my Kelly's are 28's and I have a VERY casual lifestyle. The one I use the most is my black Box Kelly and I usually wear it with the canvas strap.....this makes it a GREAT messenger slung across the body. Ultra casual!

Both my Kellys have only been worn casually...and mine are 25cm and 28cm, so a resounding YES to the original question! Heck, I've even used my 28cm Kelly as a diaper bag, can't get more casual than that! I don't use a canvas strap, but with the 28cm Kelly it would be not only more casual but more comfortable. Hope to see a reveal soon!

This is a stunning Rockerchic whatever it's worn with! Miss BBB is now nagging mummy for a baby sister LOL! (is that a 28 or 32 Rockerchic?)

I love that look on Rene - am a big fan of the 32 croc on her.

I have a gold retourne 28 (and had a raisin box 28), and I almost ALWAYS wear it casually. I can actually fit my bearn wallet, keys, lipstick, and high heels in there. I'm 5'3" for reference.

Christymarie~~look forward to seeing what you have decided! You may go with both a black and a gold 28 R Kelly after seeing all of these wonderful pictures. As you can see from the pictues posted, this is a bag that can be both dressed up or down. A perfect size to take from day to evening~~as several members mentioned, if you have to have just one bag to travel with, this bag in this size really CAN do it all! (spoken from my personal experience, as well!)

Since yesterday I'm the proud owner of a 28 ebene Kelly in evergrain.
I'm going to use it casual but also for the evening. Dressed up or dressed down. It's very versatile IMO and for me it's the perfect bag, I love it!
So my answer to the original question is yes, it can be a casual bag :yes:.
