2025 Murakami Collection

I picked up my second bag today! This is my final item for now, after the black MC Speedy Soft (“Soft”) 30 and square 90, all ordered off the Hong Kong website. I’ve also ordered the big panda charm on the UK website but time will tell if it’s actually fulfilled.

While I remember, is it now a thing to need an SA allocated to you to be able to walk around the store? I’ve been to the same store three times to get my items, and a different store when I wanted to see what was on display, and I always needed to queue outside until I was passed to an SA. I’ve had to queue before but I’ve been in other stores where I’m free to wander at will. I feel a bit uncomfortable having to wait for personal attention. 😅

So, the bag! No quality issues but some design surprises/flaws …

I took my Kusama Alma BB with me so I could compare and understand the differences people have talked about online. First off, the Superflat bag is noticeably matte. Not sure if it shows in the photos. I wouldn’t say it looks bad, but I was expecting (and would have preferred) a bit more gloss like my Kusama bag:

It’s LSD panda! Stitching is a bit rough on the back but it’s pretty thick to slam a sewing machine needle through.

The hardware is a gorgeously blingy gold, and noticeably chunkier than the regular design. I should have pulled the zippers back up to show how much bigger they are on the black one, but here’s the difference in the strap attachment. I actually don’t know why they made it different - is this more how the original Murakami looked?

And here’s where my issue is - it seems like they’ve totally cheaped out on the strap, and I don’t know why?? If you’re doing different bag hardware, do different strap hardware! Issue one is the clip is the same size as my other Alma BB (i.e. slim and small). It doesn’t match the vibe of the black Alma’s hardware and it also barely fits. You can attach the strap without scratching your bag’s hardware, but you have to do it carefully at a specific angle.

Secondly - and this bothers me more - look at the length difference! Whyyyyy?! I wrote off some beautifully coloured Alma BBs because they were going through that phase of short guitar straps that wouldn’t go crossbody, and I was happy the Kusama edition does comfortably. It will be fine if you’re petite, but if you’re bigger (wider like me, or tall) it’s not going to work.

Thread obsessives may remember the dress from my Speedy post; I didn’t mean to wear the same one, I just wanted to match my bag and shoes. 😄 First pic is shoulder carry, which puts the bag at a similar height to crossbody with the Kusama bag. Second pic is crossbody with the bag awkwardly stuck under my boob. 😖

Obviously, I kept the bag, but I don’t know if I’m going to like it as a shoulder carry. Any recommendations for stores (Etsy?) that sell leather or chain straps that match well? My only other GHW bags are my Loewe puzzles, but while I kind of like the idea of a coloured strap with this specific black bag, neither puzzle strap is a great match.

Get these links on Mautto from Etsy and put one on each side of the strap. This way, it adds more gold hardware without changing the original strap that goes with the Alma.

The LV x TM strap from the speedy 20 has short links on both sides of the strap with vachetta leather. This gives you the same/ similar look. Good luck.

My order for carryall pm placed with Chris/rodeo that was pending order validation from Jan 25th with eta of 03/17 changed order pending validation to production to shipped within 24 hours!!! I'm so excited . Woo hoo!!!

Please post photos. This was one bag I really wanted as well. And do you plan to do a bow with the straps every time you close the bag?

I have this bag also, and I dont like it ...It only looks good if i carry by hand..... Th strap lengths is awful . ..so I ordered a longer strap from Mcraftleather on etsy. Yes, the colors are very matte..

Aw, I’d return it or sell on if you don’t like it! It’s pricy for something you’re not that into. Thanks for the store recommendation - looks great for LV!

This is a much better solution! Going to have to poke around this huge store - I also need some clip type things for attaching stuff to my Speedy.

Насколько я помню, теперь нужно, чтобы вам был назначен SA, чтобы вы могли ходить по магазину? Я был в одном и том же магазине три раза, чтобы получить свои товары, и в другом магазине, когда я хотел посмотреть, что там выставлено, и мне всегда приходилось стоять в очереди снаружи, пока меня не передадут SA. Мне приходилось стоять в очереди раньше, но я был в других магазинах, где я свободен бродить по своему желанию. Мне немного некомфортно ждать личного внимания. 😅

Итак, сумка! По качеству вопросов нет, но есть некоторые сюрпризы/недостатки в дизайне…

Я взяла с собой свою Kusama Alma BB, чтобы сравнить и понять различия, о которых люди говорят в сети. Во-первых, сумка Superflat заметно матовая. Не уверена, видно ли это на фотографиях. Я бы не сказала, что она выглядит плохо, но я ожидала (и предпочла бы) немного больше глянца, как моя сумка Kusama:

Это ЛСД панда! Строчка немного грубовата на изнанке, но она довольно толстая, чтобы продеть иглу швейной машинки.

Фурнитура великолепно блестящая золотая и заметно толще, чем обычный дизайн. Мне следовало бы поднять молнии, чтобы показать, насколько они больше на черном, но вот разница в креплении ремешка. Я на самом деле не знаю, почему они сделали его другим — может, так выглядел оригинальный Мураками?

И вот в чем моя проблема - похоже, они совсем сэкономили на ремешке, и я не знаю, почему?? Если вы делаете другую фурнитуру для сумки, делайте другую фурнитуру для ремня! Проблема первая - зажим такого же размера, как у моей другой Alma BB (то есть тонкий и маленький). Он не соответствует атмосфере фурнитуры черной Alma, и он также едва влезает. Вы можете прикрепить ремень, не поцарапав фурнитуру вашей сумки, но вы должны делать это осторожно и под определенным углом.

Во-вторых, и это беспокоит меня больше всего, посмотрите на разницу в длине! Почемуооо?! Я списал несколько красивых цветных Alma BB, потому что они проходили через фазу коротких гитарных ремней, которые не подходили для ношения через плечо, и я был рад, что версия Kusama подходит для этого. Она подойдет, если вы миниатюрны, но если вы крупнее (шире, как я, или выше), то она не подойдет.

А вот я неловко позирую с сумкой в магазине. Помешанные на теме, возможно, помнят платье из моего поста Speedy; я не хотела надевать то же самое, я просто хотела, чтобы оно сочеталось с сумкой и обувью. 😄 На первом фото сумка на плече, что ставит ее на ту же высоту, что и кроссбоди с сумкой Kusama. На втором фото сумка на плече, неловко засунутая под грудь. 😖

Конечно, я оставила сумку, но не знаю, понравится ли мне носить ее на плече. Есть ли у вас рекомендации по магазинам (Etsy?), где продаются кожаные или цепочные ремни, которые хорошо сочетаются? Мои единственные другие сумки GHW — это мои пазлы Loewe, но хотя мне нравится идея цветного ремня с этой конкретной черной сумкой, ни один из пазловских ремней не подходит.

Do all LV items have NFC Chips? … 🤔

Someone explained how to read the chip maybe 5-10 pages back. I think all the new bags have chips?

My latest from this collection, didn’t expect to add another TP from this collection but it must have meant to be when Chris from Rodeo announced a restock of this a few weeks back. Definitely a different vibe from the black MC version but she is so cute 🥰 and I was lucky to get the onion tag to complete my panda tag. Thank you for letting me share

Exactly. Thanks for the photo. This is what I've been trying to say, first world problem solved. Etsy, Amazon are all good places to buy these links extenders.

I finally received my 3 items I ordered on 1/3 from a personal shopper I used in Paris. The shopper was waiting on the back ordered key pouch to arrive so she could ship everything I ordered together. When I received my items I noticed 2 of my items appear to have quality issues…I’m not sure if I am just being picky or if this is normal? Either way I sent pictures to LV for repair and I’m waiting to hear back. Never using a personal shopper again and sticking to ordering with a CA in the US where I can inspect my own items. I ordered the Rosalie, Key Pouch and the Emily Notebook cover. Thankfully the notebook cover looks fine although I feel like the monogram on the canvas is a bit blurry and not crisp. The glazing on the Rosalie is very bad in my opinion (there’s even a big random chunk of red glazing on the white canvas in the corner) and the key pouch appears to be stitched poorly as well! Honestly…if I could just return everything and get a refund I would. I’m a bit over this collection at this point and don’t want anything anymore. I went this long without the items and I was perfectly fine. If anything this whole multicolor collection has cost me nothing but problems, money and wasted time lol I’m not sure if I want to participate in part 2 and 3 of Murakami at this point.

Wow that glazing is horrible! Unfortunately, my key pouch had the same stitching issues. I took it back and told the CA it should be marked defective. The store manager came over and told me that the stitching was perfectly normal and brought over a monogram one to show me it looked the same. I was so disappointed that the canvas had been obviously over stretched.

Chatted with customer service through the chat today and they told me "This order does not have an estimated timeframe at this time, due to high demand of items from this collection."
This is for my Jan 3 MC PA - in Canada. Pending order validation since the order was placed

This is the response I kept getting from customer service and my CA. Almost sounds like a script. Funny thing was I was texting my CA one day - no update at all and the very next day she sent me a message to say it had arrived in store. I’m in Australia.

Totally agree I love the Speedy 25 crossbody and wearing it with my strap from the Rivoli because it fits better on my coat. I will wear the Speedy with the original strap in summer on a dress or shirt. As I don’t like the slouchy look on Speedies at all I‘ve put an organizer inside to keep the boxy shape.
In Germany the weather is like spring at the moment and I am glad to wear it with light colors. But it looks beautiful with your black coat too I am still delighted that I could get this bag and I absolutely adore it View attachment 6134652

It was one of the very first few reveals here!! I don’t remember who/when exactly but I don’t think we had even hit 200 pages yet. It was right around launch. Maybe even launch day. Try doing a search!
