I finally received my 3 items I ordered on 1/3 from a personal shopper I used in Paris. The shopper was waiting on the back ordered key pouch to arrive so she could ship everything I ordered together. When I received my items I noticed 2 of my items appear to have quality issues…I’m not sure if I am just being picky or if this is normal? Either way I sent pictures to LV for repair and I’m waiting to hear back. Never using a personal shopper again and sticking to ordering with a CA in the US where I can inspect my own items. I ordered the Rosalie, Key Pouch and the Emily Notebook cover. Thankfully the notebook cover looks fine although I feel like the monogram on the canvas is a bit blurry and not crisp. The glazing on the Rosalie is very bad in my opinion (there’s even a big random chunk of red glazing on the white canvas in the corner) and the key pouch appears to be stitched poorly as well! Honestly…if I could just return everything and get a refund I would. I’m a bit over this collection at this point and don’t want anything anymore. I went this long without the items and I was perfectly fine. If anything this whole multicolor collection has cost me nothing but problems, money and wasted time lol I’m not sure if I want to participate in part 2 and 3 of Murakami at this point.

OMG! The glazing is horrible. I’m so sorry the quality of your items are so bad. I’m disappointed that shopper didn’t inspect the items and inform you. Hopefully LV will fix it free of charge.

The red glazing I believe you can just remove with a tweezer or your fingers. It should come off.

OMG this is shocking! They should never have passed quality control. The personal shopper should also never have sold these on. I feel so bad for you and hope you can get this sorted. There seems to have been a fair few QC issues. I received a Rosalie purse with a small amount of inking completely missing from my purse. I haven't been able to replace it but I could return it as it was purchased by myself on line. My passport cover arrived with red smudges on the white but I managed to wipe those off.
I hope this get sorted for you I really do x
 
The red glazing I believe you can just remove with a tweezer or your fingers. It should come off.
Could that possibly damage the canvas? It’s throughout all the sides and some areas it appears it’s a thin layer of glazing. I thought about trying to remove it myself but held off as I didn’t want to ruin the canvas and then LV refuse to fix it. If it was darker canvas I would just leave it as is but it’s really noticeable on the white….at least to me.

Yeah I’m surprised myself…it passed quality control, the CA who sold it, the personal shopper etc. Lesson learned though…I haven’t had issues in the past purchasing with a personal shopper but this just made me realize purchasing with one is not for me anymore. LV did ask me for a receipt and the name of the person who the items are under so hopefully they are still able to assist even though the items are not under my account. I’m glad you were able to return your Rosalie! I’m surprised LV didn’t offer to replace your Rosalie since it was a quality issue though…I just feel like they should automatically offer a replacement or refund.

The stitching (at the corners only) appears to be somewhat consistent with my TM, regular size mono, and the new size S. If you’re eligible for a return, LV will just resell it. Quality hasn’t been their guiding principle for years.

This is why, once again, I urge everyone to be patient and don’t let FOMO get the best of you. When you rush or force things, it typically results in less than desirable outcomes. These are so bad! I don’t require absolute perfection and I can see how some tiny flaws in this thread made it past quality control, but these are both really sloppy work.

take the item with the chunk of glazing to the store and have them clean it, don’t attempt this one yourself. glazing should come off, but they have better tools to maneuver it. plus, if they mess it up the onus is on them. the cles, i can’t say much, that is not impressive…

Sorry for the disappointing pieces! I hadn’t looked closely at my key pouch until I saw your post. Is this typical or does it look like the stitch tension is off?

I picked up my second bag today! This is my final item for now, after the black MC Speedy Soft (“Soft”) 30 and square 90, all ordered off the Hong Kong website. I’ve also ordered the big panda charm on the UK website but time will tell if it’s actually fulfilled.

While I remember, is it now a thing to need an SA allocated to you to be able to walk around the store? I’ve been to the same store three times to get my items, and a different store when I wanted to see what was on display, and I always needed to queue outside until I was passed to an SA. I’ve had to queue before but I’ve been in other stores where I’m free to wander at will. I feel a bit uncomfortable having to wait for personal attention. 😅

So, the bag! No quality issues but some design surprises/flaws …

I took my Kusama Alma BB with me so I could compare and understand the differences people have talked about online. First off, the Superflat bag is noticeably matte. Not sure if it shows in the photos. I wouldn’t say it looks bad, but I was expecting (and would have preferred) a bit more gloss like my Kusama bag:

It’s LSD panda! Stitching is a bit rough on the back but it’s pretty thick to slam a sewing machine needle through.

The hardware is a gorgeously blingy gold, and noticeably chunkier than the regular design. I should have pulled the zippers back up to show how much bigger they are on the black one, but here’s the difference in the strap attachment. I actually don’t know why they made it different - is this more how the original Murakami looked?

And here’s where my issue is - it seems like they’ve totally cheaped out on the strap, and I don’t know why?? If you’re doing different bag hardware, do different strap hardware! Issue one is the clip is the same size as my other Alma BB (i.e. slim and small). It doesn’t match the vibe of the black Alma’s hardware and it also barely fits. You can attach the strap without scratching your bag’s hardware, but you have to do it carefully at a specific angle.

Secondly - and this bothers me more - look at the length difference! Whyyyyy?! I wrote off some beautifully coloured Alma BBs because they were going through that phase of short guitar straps that wouldn’t go crossbody, and I was happy the Kusama edition does comfortably. It will be fine if you’re petite, but if you’re bigger (wider like me, or tall) it’s not going to work.

And here’s me awkwardly posing with the bag in store. Thread obsessives may remember the dress from my Speedy post; I didn’t mean to wear the same one, I just wanted to match my bag and shoes. 😄 First pic is shoulder carry, which puts the bag at a similar height to crossbody with the Kusama bag. Second pic is crossbody with the bag awkwardly stuck under my boob. 😖

Obviously, I kept the bag, but I don’t know if I’m going to like it as a shoulder carry. Any recommendations for stores (Etsy?) that sell leather or chain straps that match well? My only other GHW bags are my Loewe puzzles, but while I kind of like the idea of a coloured strap with this specific black bag, neither puzzle strap is a great match.
 
pissed. like, I feel like I have been incredibly cordial and understanding. I was simply asking for any updates- if available... his response seems short. I feel like he knows he fumbled my order. like... if that's the case, tell me... don't put it on me by saying "you're sick of waiting"

Mind you, the last text prior to Thursday, feb 20, was feb 10!!!
