Totally understand. Buying luxury should be enjoyable not the opposite. May the fairy dust drop some lovely goodies to you soon!! Yes your vintage versions will be just as stunning and better made too!!
I really wish that the whole pre order system was changed, that CAs would invite clients to the store to preview the actual pieces (rather than just photos) that are truly available. I LOVE going into the stores and shopping and usually buy items I wasnt planning on when I visit, so cutting off that extra revenue by sending me an out of the blue text, having me check off pieces and paste links, then telling me they cant even order the items, leaving me with NO idea when/if they will ever be ordered, is a TERRIBLE business practice. 20 somethings may put up with this kind of treatment, but established clients like me wont!

IF you could actually get a pre order in, they require the entire cost. My CA has been trying for two days to get my order through (I was $716 under the 25K threshold to order so I bought a small piece to get over the limit).

The latest info from her as of last night in the western US was that the LV system was down, not accepting any orders.

I feel terrible for my CA as she has put a lot of work into this, they are under a lot of pressure to sell and the company is making it impossible for them to do this!

I’m so sorry this happened. Really does suck the fun out of it. If they let you pre order will the items even be available? If they are not restocking I don’t know why they would tie up your money.

That is a good point - who knows if they can even fill the orders they accepted $$$$ for!

A few yrs ago I ordered a limited piece that was $9000 - they kept my money for two months and then said the company would not approve my purchase and it took another two weeks after that to get a refund.

On another occasion I paid for a bag on the website and two weeks later was told the order couldnt be filled and then had to wait another two weeks for a refund! So YES they have a history of taking $$$$ for orders they cant fill.

Think about all the float time this creates - the company is earning interest on our money for weeks or months while we wait for a product that may or may not appear! Would love to see the annual financial gain to LVMH on this part of their “process.”

Wow what a mess. Poor planning on their part and really alienating loyal clients. I’d moved away from LV through the years but the nostalgia of this collection brought me back, now I am really turned off. Good luck to you! I hope you end up getting something you love out of this.

I live in MD, so the closest LV store to me is in VA (Tyson’s Galleria). Has anyone had any experience with that store and their CAs? I was told I could place an order today but my CA has been really unresponsive.

Thank you for the information. I really wanted certain items from this collection but I am so tired of playing the game even as a VIC . Prepaying for the catogram items was a huge mess and I didn’t even get everything I paid for and was a lot of work to get my money back.i don’t like having my money tied up with LV when they can’t guarantee I will get the item. I am hoping my SA lets me know when stuff comes in the store but I refuse to prepay anymore when they make it so frustrating. If I don’t get anything the so be it….
I will include that as a VIC my SA never said anything to me about this collection and when I asked she didn’t really give much up. I know more from here or IG than her..

are preorders requiring a deposit or the entire cost of the items? Last time I did preorders it was the catogram collection and it ending up being a mess!

It depends on region and item. Its full here, but China its half down. I've also paid half before on a watch.

It's always a waiting game pre-ordering, resee, mto's. I've ordered things that's taken almost a year. That's LV holding funds for a long time...

They had pieces from this collection in certain Asian stores, was private viewing in China. think in Paris also. So its limited.. kind of like a pop up, so not many locations.

I agree, it would be nice to actually have pieces in store to see. I don't like the rush of ordering, or FOMO.
I just think years of pre-ordering system makes LV used to it, they've been refining it.. I remember resee used to use just pieces of paper with small pics to pick from, at least now its on a tablet.

It is so disappointing to hear that your SA never said anything either. As a VIC you should be getting more regard!

I saw my CA in store in November while I was wearing my original Murakami Annie purse, I made a $6k purchase and specifically asked about the Murakami collection. She was non committal and said she thought it would be a men’s collection. At the beginning of Dec I contacted her again and told her I would definitely purchase pieces if she could let me know what was available. Fast forward to today and all I know is yesterday she emailed corporate my wishlist but cant tell me when or if I will be granted the privilege to buy it!

Whenever I go to Vegas I always see the limited edition and hard to get pieces in the stores on the Strip. Wish I lived a lot closer as it would be easier to walk in to those wonderful locations thhat have excellent CA’s and pick out exactly what I wanted!

Somehow texting in a pre order and having a previously unseen item arrive at my mailbox is NOT the same as enjoying the experience of shopping in the store, exploring the pieces and different looks and selecting items in person. Life is serious with a lot of big problems, fashion should be fun and an escape, not something that adds to the stress.

Not to mention a lot of the pieces dont photograph that well and are much better in person.

I refuse to play the game so I am not even trying to place a preorder but today I was in LV at south coast plaza and was trying on the dauphine soft MM in the white/cream = GORGEOUS BAG!!!!! It's absolutely stunning. So I casually asked the SA who was helping me if she was surviving the Murukami (sp?) madness and she looked at me and mumbled something unintelligible under her breath and started tying furiously on her cellphone to avoid me and looking me in the eye. LOLOLOLOL!

That was the frustrating part to me. I got tired of spending a lot of money and really not getting anything in return. I am not near the store so everything is thru texts . I get sent pics of things I wouldn’t buy but no help when I mention things I want to buy which is canvas. I always get pushed leather stuff.

this sounds like you need to change sa's. they aren't taking into consideration your wants.

That dauphine does look like a gorgeous bag and very practical because it is so easy to open! Ive never been to the LV at South Coast. I usually go to the main one in San Diego. If Westfield ever gets their La Jolla mall finished, the current small LV boutique there is supposed to be moved and become a large flagship store.

I don’t really have any other stores close to me and I tried it when my SA wasn’t in the store that day and purchased from another SA and it caused a whole bunch of problems and it ended up making me feel really uncomfortable.
Basically was told I need to keep my purchases with her..
