AI is more optimistic than I am. I would be thrilled with Chrysoprase or Turquoise. If it was lavender I'd beThanks for this. I passed it to large language models to see if there's any trend, and here are their predictions for the 2024 HP:
OpenAI's GPT-4o says that it could be Chrysoprase or Turquoise in Yellow Gold
OpenAI's o1-preview says that it could be Turquoise in White Gold
Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet says that it could be Chrysoprase in Yellow Gold, and ending it with "This is, of course, just an educated guess. Van Cleef & Arpels might surprise us with something entirely unexpected, as they've done in the past with materials like guilloche or porcelain."![]()
I'm obsessed with VCA and so them using porcelain in Alhambra gives me a bit of ick (no offense to people who love it, I just like crystals). But then I remember JAR uses aluminum (beer cans!) for high jewelry and all is well in my world.same...i have a hard time admiring porcelain in a pendant form, my brain can't seem to see past it as tableware and pet's bowls.![]()

I was annoyed when I found out they did celadon for 2022…they could’ve used amazonite if that’s the color they wanted to go for, but nope, they rather use porcelain. Why not amazonite ? I saw the stone and it is so beautiful ... Piaget did it in their 150 year anniversary with the sunlight collection ❤️

Thank you @allanrvj for running these predictions. This thread is all fun and games anyway, so whyever not? 😄 btw, I would die to see turquoise and YG. The girlies would be SCREAMING! 🤩Thanks for this. I passed it to large language models to see if there's any trend, and here are their predictions for the 2024 HP:

Exciting if it's chrysoprase, though a little doubtful since VCA has only used it for high jewelry in recent years, but who knows. A turquoise HP is also doubtful since they are limiting Alhambra turquoises to VIPs at the moment. Also imagine the chaos if they choose turquoise.![]()
Holiday pendant always has gold on the back, since RC is transparent I don’t see how it will be possibleDoes any one think it might be rock crystal? It’s touted as an exclusive for VIPs but in terms of material and production, it scalable for the masses.
I agree it would be boring. I would also be surprised if they did something blue after the blue agate launch. My SA showed me a picture with a white-shaped Alhambra, so I’m guessing it could be white gold, and my bet is on pietersite. Since they released limited pietersite bracelets last year, it makes sense that they’d have more of that material in stock. But if it is pietersite, that would be a bit boring.
By the way, HP is made a year ahead. When I got the 2022 HP, I found a card in the box that said it was produced in 2021.
Pietersite is absolutely stunning. I would be happy with it (already own pietersite pieces)I think pietersite is a possibility too! Especially if those pieces sold quickly and were in demand….
