2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

August 20 - Burberry, Celine

August 27 - Coach, Chanel

Beautiful color and I love the charm!

I hope you do replace the strap - there's nothing like a well loved bag.

holy guacamole!! :faint:
those croc bags are gorrrrrgeous!

ooooo - that Florentine leather is fabulous!

oh dear... that is awful. Awful awful...
We're getting ready to take all the carpet up in the basement - I have to confess that I am terrified that there might be mold.

what a fun and happy color!
Good luck and fingers crossed no mold

Just getting caught up and am loving all the eye candy everyone has posted. All beautiful bags. Unfortunately, a water heater leak seeped from garage into house and has damaged my bamboo floors and caused mold, so I have been displaced from my house for a few weeks now and don't have access to my handbags unless I run home to grab something specific/make a switch. I am traveling to Denver today and need to run home to grab a sweater and jeans since it will be cold there. I am crunched for time as I need to depart for airport in a couple of hours but I will try to snap a couple quick photos I can share later. I found photo I had of my one Dior bag which I shared, but think I missed a couple of other weeks (one Chanel, one Burberry) and have a few Fendis I can share.
Safe travels and good luck with the mold.

I´m so sorry! The water damage sounds devastating! Hopefully your house will be restored soon and there won´t be any damage to your clothes, bags and items and most important no health problems.
Save travels!

Just landed in Denver and got in early waiting for gate to become available (my least favorite part of flying). Good time to upload the photos I took earlier. Not the greatest quality bc I was in a rush (in fact, I almost missed my flight lol)

For this week, my newer Fendis: light pink WOC, mint Fendigraphy hobo, and my newest treasure, the Tiffany Baguette. Also a much older tote from the Fendi Flags collection (can't even remember what year this is from) with the matching pouch and a zucca wallet. Tote got a lot of wear at some point bc strap broke and someone tried to repair it but did a horrible job. Plan to have fixed, just hasn't been a priority.

Thought the cherry blossom design was cool back in the day but if I were to use now, I would likely carry with the plain side facing outwards.

For weeks i missed, I did manage to snap a photo of my Burberry buckle bag (only reason I wanted this was the plaid strap lol). Totally forgot to take photo of my Chanel so sharing a stock photo of the pink tweed Deauville tote I have.

Also, hope noone minds but just for fun I am sharing a few bags from brands that weren't called for but would have fit in alphabetically (Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana).

So I have loved Fendi since I was a young girl I didn’t realize how much I actually had until this thread. One of my workhorses is a Fendi chain bag. My prized bag is a vintage piece from the 80s that belonged to my grandmother. My croc peekaboo minis I’m obsessed with. My mini monster bucket isn’t in my camera roll so I will take pic later. Also the tan Kani I bag I got rid of. Still kicking myself about that one. I have coats and shoes as well.

Those peekaboos are gorgeous! I love the ripple bags and the clutch too.

I don't have Dooney , although as a teen and young adult I used to admire their bags in Macys and loved the duck.
I have my one fendi to show for this week; the turquoise peekaboo.

You already know I love this bag! In fact, I think I prefer it to the Tiffany one I got but I was hung up on that limited Tiffany & Co nonsense. I wonder how similar the colors would be side by side. Anyway, looks beautiful!
Aren’t they amazing? I want to add a third but I haven’t decided on a color yet. I’m hoping to go the MTO event and get one custom there. My SA is working on it for me.
I saw that clutch online in 2021 for preorder. I ordered it and it never came. It never was available in States. I lucked up during my late night shopping searchs and 24s had it and I grabbed it.
Jumping on the bandwagon to agree with everyone else that both your Dior and Fendi exotics are amazing. I do not have an alligator or crocodile bag yet but it is one of few things left on my wishlist. I did recently order a green alligator bag that looked great in photos but was lackluster and smaller than I envisioned in person so sadly it was sent back.

I have two Dooney bags. The first one is Florentine leather.

I have one Dooney & Bourke bag currently. I used to have a few vintage Fendi bags but I don't have them anymore. They were all the kind with the stripes. I felt self conscious carrying them.

I never owned any D&B bags either but love both of your neutral toned bags. I also remember the Fendi stripes!!! I had a few smaller Fendi bags and SLG when I was a teen in the late 1980s that were the zucca print and the stripes. Forgot about that until now. Sure wish I hung onto them.
The bag is only velvet on the front and tbh even though I love the bag, I rarely use it ( it's not so easy to match and the push clasp isn't that great). It looks good except near the clasp there is some wear.

This is so pretty, I really hope you end up getting some use out of it this winter! I personally think I could be used anytime for a dressy event.

Oh no it's crazy how much damage water can do so rapidly. Hope you can get back home soon
Have a good trip
Thank you, it has been an unnecessarily drawn out process. Luckily, I have a very gracious friend with a large enough house to accommodate me and have had a few travels to occupy my time but am hoping to get the ball rolling with remediation so we can move back in soon and my daughter can have some stability (this happened on the first day of school and she has been staying with friends most of the time and with me at my friend's house sometimes).
I'm so sorry, I know he feeling well (we won't go there :ok:)

I hope the floors are salvageable and you are able to get full access to your full handbag wardrobe soon.

Don't worry about missing weeks, you can always catch-up and just jump in.
Thank you. The issue with my floors is that I have the same floors throughout the entire house (other than bathrooms and laundry room) and they no longer make this flooring and I don't have enough extra so I might need to redo flooring in entire house which I really don't want to do (and is unnecessary because it's basically brand new). Was hoping some would be salvageable but it's not looking great. Alternatively, I found the same bamboo planks in a lighter color and I could potentially replace my daughter's room with the lighter color (which would look great in her room) and use the planks from her room to replace the damaged area in dining room. But also not sure if that would look bad in the future when go to sell house or if I could act like it was intention like an "accent" room.

Oh no, mold. Hope everything is okay. My mom had mold in one of her places and it was very expensive to remove. Travel safely!
Yes, the quote I got for "dry out" process over $8k, a mold "inspection" was $750 and "remediation" I expect will likely be $10k. None of that includes replacing my flloors. I was not originally going to make an insurance claim but am now going through that process but there is a $10k limit and separate $10k limit for the mold. Such a shame to think of the gorgeous bags that could be purchased for that kind of money!
oh dear... that is awful. Awful awful...

Fingers crossed you don't have any mold. I couldn't believe how much mold there was when my baseboards were removed after literally only 2 days. I evacuated the house immediately and had my handyman remove the baseboards and drywall but after an inspection I realize the leak got to other areas I didn't realize like under cabinets in laundry room and a wet bar / coffee station that will all have to be removed. Wouldn't wish this hassle on my worst enemy but at the same time I know I am lucky and it could have been a lot worse.

Thank you and thankfully this was far enough away from my bedroom and closet that my handbags seem to not be at risk. I don't believe it got into my air system and am praying that is the case so none of my bags/clothes will be damages. Also, I left the minute I knew there was mold even though most of it was removed, I am not taking any chances until professional remediation and final clearance inspection done. I know it could make you very sick to breathe that in.

I love these!

I was going to but the large Balmain Sky-print scarf but the fire-print suited me better. Balmain make such fun things.
