2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

What a beautiful scarf! It pairs so well with the outfit (and the painted bag).

This picture is giving me beautiful beach/ocean/summer vibes, love it! Does Charlie like to swim?

What a sweetie! Can you tell us more about him? Love the color of your Garden Party.

I'd forgotten that leather = chewy to some of our pets. Nice basket bag!

Ha, ha, treats sure are helpful! Love the expressions on their faces as they wait for their treat. They're adorable!
Thanks!

There is a reason I never let my animals near my bags. I tried with my basket that has very little leather(also known as a chewy) only one was somewhat cooperative.

Both such noble looking darlings. I just want to give them both a big hug XXX

Looks like they were thinking What's in mummy-dcooney4's bag?... um :wondering: er :wondering: it's only a tpf photo op, OK, what's the prize, what's the prize for posing?

Aw, I miss my cat. He loved being out in the garden too. If I left a bag lying around he’d be in it!

:hugs: Right there with you

I really miss my other cat in the Summer, even more than other times of the year. I keep expecting him to wake me up 5am or pop-out from under a bush. He was such a little worker, basically all Houdini had to do was sleep in the garden and let his brother get on with policing. For two years I would hear Dini looking for his brother, crying for him to come home. The whines and howls were almost unbearable. This last month or so is the first sign that Dini has acknowledged little Poirot has gone and he has to defend his territory.

Good as I can get, the camera shy, elusive Dini with red suede Lady Web Horse-bit Shoulder bag. The closest bag I could grab. He's only here because he's hungry and he wants his dinner.

He’s a beauty, and he looks good in red! They really do form deep attachments. My cat pined dreadfully for my last dog, he called and searched, it was heartbreaking because there’s nothing you can do to help or explain. He died a couple of months later. He wasn’t well and he was elderly, but losing his best friend took the spirit out of him I think.

:hugs: Bless him.

Totally agree. Dini always used to wear a red collar but it was so tatty I took it off him. Now the Spring is here I need to buy a collar with a bell on (young and nesting birds).

I have to go out now and take pics of where the council is using banned weedkiller - they already promised not to use it anymore last year.

Our mice do this too. They actively mourn their companions when they pass and are very miserable for days. A mouse´s life is so short. We recently lost two of our old boys within two consecutive days. It was heartbreaking to see the only remaining old boy sit alone in his cage wondering whether all happiness was erased from his life. You can´t be an alpha male without any underlings to boss around or care for...
As he is the only boy we still have and old enough to not be "dangerous" anymore we decided to rehome him with our 3 mouse girls. One of them is his sister. She is ancient for a mouse too and definetely not up to start a family anymore. The other two are young. (We got them when they were barely out of the nest to keep the old girl company who by this time was a single survivor.) Brother and sister immediately recognised each other.

Oh, I hope we can see? Such an important piece, some kind of pouch, with a bag like this
Please don´t scrutinize it too much... DH already did (without telling me what exactly does not match his standards) taking all the joy out of the project for me.
There´s a box inside the bag for better visibility. The rectangular blue shape is the separate pouch. It´s just a simple plain pouch with a nice zip and a matching cotton lining.

The lettering is actually straight, but when the bag moves it moves too...

Aww, nice to see a picture of the charming and elusive Dini next to your beautiful red bag!
Thank you, he’s a whippet, and nearly 2
I had to look up whippet on google. He's a youngster at 2!

It's heartbreaking when they are searching or pining for the ones that are gone. The only thing we can do is provide as much caring and comfort as possible, and wait for time to provide some healing.

You've done a great job! The color is beautiful too. I wish I could crochet. I found some very old magazines recently that had some interesting patterns.

That looks gorgeous!! I love it

I love how you put the “logo” on it, and the shape looks great. The pouch is a very nice addition. Your daughter is very lucky!
Thank you so much! I am still very nervous about this. I don´t want to disappoint my daughter with something that looks too homemade. That "logo" took me some figuring out...
Sometimes I think it must be very frustrating to receive my gifts... when others get lucky and have something bought from a shop the people around me often enough have to keep up with things I made.
