Gorgeous! This bag will be so versatile in your closet.I got this for Christmas but I counted it last month. I had never taken it out of the box till Christmas so here is a picture.
This is such a great neutral color, and the silver hardware is a perfect match.I got this for Christmas but I counted it last month. I had never taken it out of the box till Christmas so here is a picture.
I agree because I sold both tannish bags I had . Last year I wore both a lot even though they weren’t quite right.Gorgeous! This bag will be so versatile in your closet.
Thank you! I think so too. This is such a great neutral color, and the silver hardware is a perfect match.![]()
That's sort of what it looks like! It is so soft. I love petting it. It is kind of ridiculous looking.
Yes, I have that problem of selling something expensive for peanuts. If I do that, I'll know exactly how much money I lost. I know you are supposed to think of it like you recouped some of your costs. Someone called it the stupid tax, the money you have to pay for your mistakes.
In additional to the loss point, my other concern is quality. If I've let go any of those bags I bought a decade (or over ago), it'd be a real pain to find something equally high quality in nowadays from the boutiques.I have one bag I’ve been thinking of getting rid of for some time now. Your comment about reaching for something else every time you think of using it ... well, that is this bag. I have worn it six times this year — the last time was a test to see how it works. And, it has some issues — the closure isn’t great so it flops open, and the crossbody strap is too skinny for a bag of its size. But I love the color and have trouble parting with it when I look at it. Also, it’s a contemporary brand that I paid full price for, and I know I’ll get a stupidly small amount on consignment. So I keep waffling, even though I know I should just let it go.
I know what you mean. I have that issue with a couple of my bags. I don’t want to downgrade quality and / or pay thousands to get back to parity. In additional to the loss point, my other concern is quality. I received the bags I counted in last month and my daughter bought me this little pouch. It is not really a bag and it is to big to be an slg. I might use it as a large wristlet from time to time because I have wristlet straps I bought from Etsy for the black one I have like this. These are great for going for a quick dinner where the food is a bit messy etc.
This is a great neutral. It looks warm toned in some lights and cool toned in others. And it’s a very fashionable small size. I think you’ll get a lot of use from this one.Gave it a test drive at the outlets and it works well.
Very pretty!
Woooo - leave tPF for a couple days and look what happens!
@ElainePG - Happy birthday! Your cake sounds delish and I personally think everyone should eat birthday cake for breakfast! Why not?!
@catsinthebag - it sounds like you've made the correct decision! Buh-bye purse that doesn't stay shut!
It seems like everyone had a marvelous Christmas/Holiday - i did as well. My kids were all thrilled and that was all that really mattered to me.
I looked over my goals for 2018.
A black everyday purse. Didn't find, so a goal for next year too. The Gucci is darling and I love it but it is not an 'everyday' bag. I really do need 2 black bags that I consider everyday - otherwise I wear the same black bag over and over… That was my Loewe (still sad I had to return it), and is now the LV Lockme Bucket. I had written that I thought I wanted a Kelly - and I *think* I still do, but I have the same feelings about it. My biggest fear about it is that it will be too fiddly. I like easy-peasy (which would be a B, but no shoulder strap there, so Nope) purses… but oh my - I love those lady-like elegant bags! So, still looking for that HG Kelly - the right color, the right condition (because I'm going Pre-loved) and the right price.
Okay to get a bag if I love it. I bought several purses this year, and then discovered I didn't love them. So I turned around and sold or donated several of them.
Stop buying scarves due to Sales Goggles - well - I tried. Next year.
Sell scarves I'm not wearing - a work in progress. I did sell 17 this year, I hope to sell a few more in 2019. Since I do keep a spreadsheet for them, I know which ones should go.
My spreadsheet for my purses was interesting - this was the first time I'd ever done that.
I'll do it again next year to see if there are changes.
It showed me that I don't wear my beloved black bags as much in the summer as I thought, but in the cooler months, it's hard to get me out of them. I love my Just Campagne Confort 1 - love the leather, love the color. I have looked at other bags in this color and thought "Nah - I have the Confort - it's perfect!". My H Vespa was my 3rd most worn bag - it is a perfect summer casual, and just the right size. The H Drag 2 was 4th - I think it would get more wear if it had a shoulder strap… but I do love it so it's not going anywhere.
I've really enjoyed this thread, and look forward to joining y'all for 2019!![]()
Merry Christmas to you as well!
