I think i'm in the same time zone as you haha.. it's just late afternoon here.

I realize I cannot use bags with a flap if it doesn't have a shoulder or crossbody strap. Lessons learned in 2015!


What have you learned in 2015?

My desire for the Celine Trapeze and decision not to buy it because it is a flap bag solidifies for me that I can't do a flap bag, unless like you say, it's a crossbody, BUT I also learned that unless they are the small cross body bags, I'm not keen on cross body bags. Functional yes, but I realized that all of my bags that are cross body functional, are actually convertible bags or can be shortened to a shoulder bag - so it seems that I'll use a cross body bag, but my subconscious tells me to buy bags with that option versus it just being a crossbody bag.

That's a cute gift!

It's a few minutes here before the New Year. We're just having a casual family get together at my sister's house. I sneaked some time off to sit at my sister's massage chair and quickly took a photo of what turned out to be my year end bag. I changed into my Longchamp small Bilberry Le Pliage earlier for this very casual get together.

Here's my year-ender/year-beginner bag -- RM Mini Cupid in Plum that I got from non-other than our very own Msd I think mid-December.

This was supposed to be my birthday gift but I wasn't able to get it from her on my birth month (October) and our meet-up didn't push through on December. Nevertheless, this beautiful bag was sent to me, carefully boxed and with all the cards and the dustbag. Practically brand new. And it was love at first sight! Been using it regularly ever since. I'm so happy! [emoji4]

I learned that a hand held only bag doesn't work for me. I need to be able to sling my bag on my shoulder.

I'm also discovering that I really love having an external pocket(s) for quick access stuff.

I've learned this year that I indeed can carry smaller bags and can live with it, too. I don't have to carry all the kitchen sink with me all the time. I can really reduce my load and stick with it.

And I've learned that as much as I like my bags to look all the time oh-so-pristine, I prefer it to have a character of its own, which can be developed only with me using it. So, I'll carry that I'm carry that over to this year, which means I'll use my bags more.

I've gone shopping again, but resisted handbags! Even passed this cute Burberry iPad mini leather case!

But I have come home with 4 dresses and a skirt in the past 3 days [emoji85]. I guess I am wishing to change it up on the weekends.

Amor I was eyeing this back pack as well. Though I think the Juilan is prettier. I have been using backpacks a lot lately as well. Mostly my libaire backpack and my julian. I really did like the MK but it was bought so my mini would have a safe place to be stored when traveling with it. When that did not really work great it did not make sense to have two grey back packs. The Julian has that great pocket against your back that I put my wallet in . Even if I am in a crowd I feel my id is safe with it back there. Enjoy the back pack you have and step away from the LV. It is very hard for me to say that but I believe that is what you requested.

I was looking at the libaire website. They have some cute backpacks. I agree the Julian appears quite safe. Thanks for reminding me to step away. It is kinda stuck in my head and staring to border on obsession. I need to cool off and see if I still feel the same way in a week.

I've seen it and it's adorable. though, you have a backpack, don't you? So it's a little redundant to have two, plus this one is pretty small and not as spacious as the Julian.

It's a trendy item too, IMO.

I want more Burberry Bears. I might splurge and get some more.

I am finishing off 2015 and starting 2016 with the same Longchamp Rive Droite tote. I need to lower cpw on it, so what better way to do so?

I agree it's a trendy piece but I am loving how adorable it is. I really like cross body bags. Since it's so versatile I feel like it's not a duplicate. Yes, I am trying to justify this mini backpack.

My go to the Vet bag or any other dirty job.

Glad to know I am not the only one that has one of these bags for those "days"

I actually love Fendi 2 Jours. I used to contemplate getting one when it first came out. I decided to skip though coz I'm not good with a bag with that kind of opening. (I've been trying to find one that will struck the chord with me; GST, PST, Dior Soft, 2Jours. So far, no luck. I guess I love the style and the idea, but just couldn't make up my mind IRL.)

I haven't seen that LV backpack IRL, but I'm not so sure I'd like how it look worn crossbody. The size is too small for the type of bag for me.

Yes, it is truly a mini bag but based on the pics posted in the LV forum, it can hold a surprisingly fair amount considering its size. I am going to have to see it irl. I can't stop thinking about it. Lol

I decide to finish of the year with this bag; Bal Twiggy in 09 Ciel.

Bal's blue is notorious for turning yellow and this one is no exception. I carried her once or twice, I think, then I keep her in her dust bag. Let's say a handful of time, still, she turn yellow a bit anyway. (Not to mention the glue they use on her tassels just sucks they split by itself.) I just love her color too much to get mad. And since her type of shade is one of the Color of the Year for next year, I think I'll take her out. I find her color comforting and her leather soft.

Yes. I agree. It shouldn't be this way. I was mad the first time I found out, but then I calm down later after learning that there's no way to fix the yellowing issue. I find the excessive tassels fun though, although it gets me worry about that it may break or torn easier. Ciel is a pretty color and a very overlooked one in its day. At least, I'm glad I get a hold of one. It's my kind of shade.

Ooh! I like that monster! It's so adorable. I'm waiting for my huge new bag charm to arrive, too! I really have a thing for fluffy stuff.

yellow would be such an amazingly cheerful color! I had a Coach Legacy clutch in yellow before but eventually returned it because I didn't use the style enough and had too many, but I regret giving her up because of the color... now I think I should have gotten at least an SLG.. i hope you find a yellow bag!



oooh this is really neat! I haven't seen it irl life... I totally understand about the backpack. Ever since I got my mbmj, I am just loving the ease of it and find myself looking at other ones... I am so tempted to get more but I hold back mostly because, I know that after this holiday break and my industry goes back to normal, I will have to revert back to my business-formal attire, and then my backpack will only be used on trips, and weekends at best, and therefore can't justify more than 1 at this time. If the LV bag can be carried in more than one way, it may be more bang for your buck in the event you get tired of the style or current trend. I think it's a really cool bag, and would love to see how it looks as a crossbody. Keep us posted!

Glad to know the backpack works for you too. I know exactly what you mean about looking at other backpacks. It's so addicting. I feel like this LV one would work for semi dressy outfits too. It's a very different size from my Julian so I feel like it would not be duplicative.

I was able to sneak in my convertible Miu Miu before the end of the year! I don't use her much but she makes me so happy. Can be a large clutch, crossbody, and flat satchel.

What a great versatile bag. Love the color too.
