Perfect color to go with my Goyard tote. Love the cute little heart!

The color is such a classic one and the leather seems sturdy.

the holidays means I have extra time to do things!

So I added more patches after Christmas breakfast (sooo full!)

LV Alma PM in indigo! I love this bag, it's so discreet and elegant, and I get many compliments on this bag.

Such a beautiful bag. I love the color of your Alma.
And the new patch is cute. Does the patch effect the waterproof property of the bag?

Bake - I really love seeing your Epi Alma. Is it heavy?

I have my Bal City in Latte with me on this trip to my hometown. I'm rediscovering her. I don't know why I don't use her a lot. I think using her more will be part of my 2016 resolution. To think I already offered this for sale to a friend early this year. I really love the color. Plus it's still not broken it.

I'm glad to hear that you rediscover your love for that Bal again. ;) It's a pretty bag and I'm sure it'll look fabulous broken in. ;)

No, not heavy actually, just very structured so if you place something dense, it's hard to spread the weight.

Glad you've rekindled your love for your Bal!

ETA:
Prior to loosely following the KonMarie trend, I used to clean out randomly and give the clothing/shoes/accessories to my cousins, friends, distant family, DBFs family.

Though since it would happen here and there, the amount of items leaving and coming in did not hit me.

Until tonight. I see on Facebook and at parties clothing on friends and family that looked familiar, then I'd be told or get a text about how what I've given them works so well for the holidays and events that it saves them money.

I have clothed so many people, it's staggering.
My cousins showed me their wardrobes, half is from me alone.

This means I have had so much clothing, I've spend so much and gotten rid of so much l. I've been able to nearly single handedly fill closets of so many people I know. Luckily, the people I've given my things to really appreciate it.

So, in 2016, my goal is to not bring so much in, so there's not much to take out. It just hit me, I can't grasp how much money over the years I had spent then given away.

I know many of us give away to those we love, but how much we give away kind of fades away after a monthly tally. It's given me more resolve to only buy what I personally need and will use.

Though, my cousins will be receiving items here and there as I refine my closet more and more. Including handbags in the future.

Long story I know, but hopefully it helps motivate to in stopping the crazy cycle of buy and eliminate. It certainly has for me.

This cloth-buying binge is a thing for me. I sometimes buy duplicate of the pieces I like to wear and this year, coz one of the subordinates in the office asked if I have any cast off clothing article I can donate to her charity, I went into my closet and clear it out Konmari style. I got 18 bags of clothes. I'm talking about the big black garbage bag size. I got 18 of them stuff to the brim. I took them to the office like 5 each times. One of the secretaries at the office jokingly asked if I robbed the charity campaign office. I know it's been years since I do a big get-rid-off, but it's not like I didn't do any during the years and I still have some more left. I know I love clothes shopping so it's a resolution for me this year, too, that I will not buy more than 3 pieces of clothing each month. I know I just can't not-buy immediately. But at least, I know I don't shop every month and maybe 3 a month isn't so bad. I hope I can achieve this achievable goal.
You're so lucky you notice this when you're young. ;) it's not too late to start now. ;)

i love them, especially the All in One - I'd love to find one myself, it's really awesome

congrats on the will power to finish of the year. Especially with the shoes, that's something I'm working on.

Great idea!!

This is so lovely - love the color and looks so soft

awesome work! and love you alma

Thanks!

This is really something to think about.

It just hit me, seeing half the closets of two girls, and knowing my bff's closet is mostly my cast offs, and the boxes of clothing I sent to the Philippines.... I could go on and on about how much has left only for more to come in.

I have to be better in 2016. In fact I'm returning a sweater I bought at NR, as it's not a solid color, despite my love for Ted Baker.

The color is such a classic one and the leather seems sturdy.

Such a beautiful bag. I love the color of your Alma.
And the new patch is cute. Does the patch effect the waterproof property of the bag?

The bag is still intact inside so it should be fine. The patches themselves may get ruined in rain though.

I'm glad to hear that you rediscover your love for that Bal again. ;) It's a pretty bag and I'm sure it'll look fabulous broken in. ;)

When I purged it was one shopping bag at a time until KonMarie so I didn't realize the vicious cycle.

Though I will still buy duplicates of items I need a lot of and go through quickly. Like trousers. Lol

But, yes, I can't just keep buying everything I like, and while I have gotten this down for handbags, clothing and shoes are still a battle in progress.

Haha, I'm not that young in comparison to everyone!
But better sooner than later!

I am really digging on my Cuyana pouch!

Today I braved Woodbury Commons & it was actually easy to manage. I got a gift card to Lululemon for Xmas & even when someone else is paying I can't bring myself to spend $80 on yoga pants so took the fancy back roads drive to the mall...

I made a list before going:
Lululemon
Lipstick holder
Kindle case

Which actually did help enormously staying on track. Went to Lulu first, I even have $30 left to spend which is awesome. The lines for Kate Spade & Tory Burch which I thought would be good contenders for lipstick holders & tech cases were super unruly so I decided to pass.

Instead wandered into Vera Bradley & got an el cheapo small case in a super cute print that goes with my other stuff, perfect for keeping lipsticks together instead of bouncing around a giant clutch.

Then went a little Type 2 & walked into Bottega Veneta bc there was no line. I was just trying on bags for fun & one of the SAs asked me if I was looking for anything specific. I said a case or a pouch that would fit a Kindle Fire. Lo & behold they sell flat leather pouches perfect for that exact use! I've always wanted a little something from BV, this is perfect & also roomy enough of a pouch that diff tablets can fit. It fits my Kindle just fine as well as my mom's mini iPad if I use a different type of tablet in the future. Awesome!

I tried out a couple bulkier padded tech cases in Vera Bradley as well but they didn't fit nicely into my pouch so I think this woven letter BV pouch is perfect. Also a really good color, would look cute inside my other bags. Responsible price as well so I am a very happy camper [emoji5]️

So for December I am 3 SLGs in between my gift and 2 pouches I bought today. I don't think I have any other possible pouch "needs" before shopping my closet through 2016 so I think that was a productive last shopping trip!

Egg I am doing my best to load everything in my suitcase into Stylebook to get started with the app. So many of my outfits / accessories have white in them so it's been tedious editing the backgrounds out. But it sounds like everyone raves across the board about how awesome Stylebook is so prob will be worth the effort!

Oh and here's a pic I snapped yesterday for the Cuyana thread:

ImageUploadedByPurseForum1451157027.192706.jpg

Comfortably fits a LV Epi Zippy Organizer, soft sunnies case, Kindle, phone, small reusable bag (that's what the yellow pouch is), gift card holder & a lipstick. I wanted to keep my lipstick & Kindle screen protected instead of bouncing around the clutch so mission accomplished! [emoji7]

Wow, the Cuyana holds so much! And I just love the color. And I think the BV pouch as a tech holder is great versus a actual kindle holder so you can continue to use it as tech sizes change, or for other uses. Great find! Ya, editing the pics take time - black clothing was my favourite to edit haha. Jewelry was really difficult. Good luck!!

I forgot to pack a purse for Christmas vacation, was thinking I'd just use my Zippy Organizer as a clutch when I needed so it's been handy having been gifted a pouch that fits all my stuff so nicely [emoji5]️

As for Stylebook the only negative so far is that their categories sometimes don't match how I'd classify my clothes. For instance I added my wallet, Kindle case & makeup bag as clutches since there weren't separate categories. But that's pretty minor in the grand scheme. Looking forward to making my outfits!

Wat? How? Can I change the category names of items I've already added?

Here's my Stylebook so far. I'm doing some laundry so will photograph the rest of the clothes I packed on this trip once they're clean!

Happy holidays!!!
And I think I have a thing for your MJ crossbody. ;) It's very pretty and I'm still in awe that it has a mirror inside. ;)

Great job resisting, Amor! :) And happy holidays! :) I sure hope your wish come true. ;)

Thanks vink! I wish you and your family a wonderful new year!

Amor- Miss you! Glad to hear you’ve stuck to your ban!

Msd- love your MJs!

Vink- cute SLGs, even better that they were free!

Lol, just when I think I’m done, I want to adjust my count.

I have been reading emergency preparedness on pinterest (random, right?) and decided to have a bag packed with a pair of clothes, some toiletries, and a small first aid kit (basically a copy of one I take when I travel), and plopped it all into the Phillip Lim x Target bag that DBF got me. It finally has a purpose! Kinda like a glorified backpack, but I’m not spending all that money for a backpack and pre-packed emergency prepared stuff.

So since I won’t use this in my handbag rotation, I will no longer count it as a handbag.

Updated 2015 count!

December count:

Handbags: 1 in (herbag), 1 out.

SLGs, 0 in, 0 out.

2015 count:

Handbags: 8 in, 8 out.

SLGs: 8 in, 6 out.

I seriously do the most random things when I'm off from work. First, a paper clean out, then an emergency bag. Lol.

Though, I didn't have to go shopping, and all I had to do while out today was have lunch with the family.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday, whether at home or braving the shops!

(though I will be out and about on the day after christmas sales!)

Hi bake! Miss chatting with you. I hope Santa was good to you this year :)

Congrats on your BV pouch! It looks buttery soft!

And your Cuyana pouch holds so much. Wow...

So even though said I saw done this year, apparently Santa thought I needed another... DH went on his own and asked if they had a rhyder. How he remembered that is beyond me. I'll post a photo tomorrow of her. She's so cute and has a metallic finish. I kinda want to move into her right away!

Bake- Your long champ is so cool with those patches. Your Alma is so elegant.
Lvk8- Your Cuyana pouch is very pretty as are your new slgs.
Louvigilante- How sweet of your Dh! Can't wait to see your new rhyder.
Amor- You are doing so well. You are a fantastic mother with all you do.
Vink-You can do anything you set your mind to.
Egg- I am so grateful to have found this thread long ago. Who knows how many bags I would have if not. I also enjoy all the wonderful virtual friendships we have made here over the years. So glad you started it all. I hope one day we can meet for real.

Hello!! I am not up to date on the thread but just scrolling the past couple of pages. I am loving all the eye candy of bags, slgs and charms. What a great idea showing the x days of bags. That's a great motivator to stay in our closets.

Quick update, I have not bought any bags or slgs since I started this ban around end of October. Woo hoo! I feel really good about this. I also have been avoiding Christmas shopping which has kept me on my ban. Finally went to the stores today to pick up DH's gift. He wanted some ugg boots. Since I was there, I checked out bags and shoes. I was tempted by three different pairs of shoes but ultimately resisted. Mostly because two were half a size too small and I told myself that I will not spend a still significant amount of money on shoes that don't properly fit (even though they are on sale). It's not a sale if I can't wear them more than 15 minutes. I was kinda sad since the python Christian louboutins were amazing. Oh well...

I was sorely tempted to get the Rebecca minkoff Julian backpack purse charm. Has anyone seen those? I tried it on my Julian as I was carrying it today and so adorable. I had good self control and left it at the store. Wish I took a pic though. Lol. Better that I didn't. It might tempt me further.

Wherever you are, I wanted to make sure to drop by and wish YOU ALL a BEAUTIFUL Christmas with loved ones!! Have a FABULOUS new year and may all your purse dreams be in your closets!! [emoji182]
Hi Amor! Nice of you to drop by, we miss you!! Glad to know you are keeping your ban. I think I'm not ready for a total ban, hopefully one day I'll get there. :smile1:

Happy holidays!!!
And I think I have a thing for your MJ crossbody. ;) It's very pretty and I'm still in awe that it has a mirror inside. ;)

Yeah, this MJ is just wonderful! And I'm so happy that I got this for a bargain!!

That was one nice trip you had!! Glad everybody enjoyed!

I might get another All in One if I come across one that is a good deal, it is really wonderful! This is an SLG, right? I will not include SLGs in my 2016 resolution since it is one area where I've not yet gone crazy.
