i'm not quite sure what my reasoning was. i think i just got excited by the math. once i found out that nap doesn't ship exotics outside of europe and that the discount in gbp wasn't nearly as substantial as it would've been if i had been able to ship it to the u.s. (it was a difference between saving about $600 or $1600), i didn't sweat it anymore. i mean, saving money is always great, but it would've been a huge hassle.

I'll try to do one tomorrow--I've been really busy this weekend! I'm so happy--in 2008 I desperately wanted a Carter Jr. in charcoal and had--no joke--16 in my saks.com shopping bag for more than a week because I was trying to figure out how quickly they'd sell out. Then they did that crazy pre-Thanksgiving sale and I heard about it too late and logged back on to find them all gone. ... hence my crazy late-night page refreshing this year.

Well, your tenacity certainly paid off this year! Good for you, mjsmurf!

that's fair enough. i'd get excited by the math too!

Great topic JJ!

As for the miss, it was the Stardust Rio black Python for me (not sure if this was a 2010 or 2009 bag). I remember when I bought it, I was so excited & thought I would use it all the time and I never did. It was a super stunning bag, as the SD is one of my favorite lines and the gold studs against black is gorgeous. But I finally figured out it was the style that I didn't like and I initally wanted it in the Cecilia or Stam. I kindof learned my lesson--- that you should always go with your first choice.

The lacquered line was definitly a hit for me! One of my favorite lines!

And this year is when I started downsizing my collection and sold my first bag---the black baby stam.

Ugg, this year was a great MJ year for me :D

Like Tad mentioned the highlight would have to have been meeting the genius IRL!
AND the fact that I was able to nab his autograph on one of my most prized and rare MJ bags, the Dijon Roma(which I also acquired early on in 2010 even thought it was from F '07). I still get a little giddy remembering how insane it was to be standing across the counter from him. I was sure I was going to cry from shock!

Aside from the fact that the entire fall '10 collection was sublime, I was thrilled to settle upon the Bordeaux Lacquered Stam as my boutique purchase for the year. I'm so glad I have her. She is incredibly dreamy. Fall '10 is a season I'm going to be hunting for on ebay for years to come!
