Thanks, Tmitch... Excellent! No Canard for me - I can wait until the next season's navy blue comes out. My credit card is just about doing back-bends, and needs a good rest.\

I saw Canard RH city today!!! The bag was already spoken for, but I did get a looksee for a bit.

LOVED it - overall it was like looking into the deep dark ocean - beautiful and rich. Even in RH city, you could tell it was blue, especially along the edges of the bag, tassels and the seaming. I held my black leather gloves against it (like I did with the sample back in January), this time against the bag, I could definitely see the bag was blue and not black.

I'm not the best judge of this, but I do think I saw some teal - not in the leather, but in the reinforcement bit that runs along the handles.

Sorry, was not able to sneak any pics.

It did look black in certain lighting, but also blue, and it was sort of cool how it looked like this very interesting black, then it looked like a deep, dark blue, I liked how the color shifted in different lights.

For comparison there is a Officer Weekender on ebay right now. One I keep looking at, it is such a pretty blue. I have bought from her before and had a great experience with them. Quick email back, shipping fast and my Money Stardust GGH from her is fabulous. You can compare the Officer on Ebay to the Canard. I think Officer a little bit more brighter?

abitobling, thank you for the review!

Do you think different batches of Canard are closer or further from black, much like Ruby had such variations so that it looks lipstick red for some bags, and others see it as closer to Tomato?

I'm really looking for a blue, rather than a black bag.

I don't know about different batches, since I only saw one bag. It was DEFINITELY blue against my black gloves! It really looks different in different lights and distances and angles.

I think it is blue, but a very mecurial blue, not an obvious blue. I looked at the thread of blues in reference, and to me it seemed like the inks and officiers really looked different colors in different pics, too. I don't think canard seems as bright blue as officier can look in some lights.

Canard is the kind of color that when you see it, you want to look closer and look at the color more. The one I saw was nicely distressed, great color saturation, and a nice sheen on it which went well with the color. It did remind me of the sheen on a duck's feather (but not green at all to my eyes). It's so hard to describe, but I loved it, and I hope to find one soon!

canard is not black AT ALL. i think it just photographs that way. it's a dark blue teal in my opinion. I think the photo on balenciaga.com is pretty accurate where you can clearly see it is blue.
