Oh that's just sick! Here we are waiting patiently for our precious grail bags and they discuss jacking them up twice in one year? Oh brother!

It's been confirmed for the handbags. I believe the increase is even higher if bling is involved. Last but not least, there maybe another increase later this year. ush:

Oh dear. I guess croc is not in sight in the near future. So sad....does anyone know why they are having such a high increase in price? Is there a croc ban somewhere? U think they finished saving all the whales and now they are trying to save all the crocs???

I fear that this may be true. I have just been informed by Van Cleef that they are raising prices again in May and they raised prices last Nov!!!

Is that the price buying from Hermes store in Japan or reseller????????? I know that price in Asia is significantly more expensive...But, that is really high to be Hermes price. That is $43,285.6 USD for 30cm croc Birkin!!!!!!!

I saw a 30cm black croc porosus at one of the Hermes Boutiques in Japan last year (ie pre 2008 price increase) - it was around 3,900,000 Yen or slightly more. Since then, the Yen has appreciated very sharply against the dollar and other currencies - hence the spectacular rise in price expressed in other currencies

Now that I look at the numbers I'm not so sure I'd be able to part with $40,000 in exchange for the 35 matte birkin I want to get for my mom. Especially since I intend to buy it 2 years from now, the price would probably reach ~$45,000? Not sure if she'd be happier to see that money go into her bank account or manifest itself into the form of a handbag.

I'm getting a little dizzy thinking what if I do get it and I get addicted to croc birkins?! Adding up the sum would really make me weak...heheheh...
