No one but you will ever know it was an outlet purchase! Do you pack up your boutique purchases when the new lines come out because the bags you purchased might have gone to outlet? I sure hope not! This is the same thing as keeping a style you bought at a boutique past the time it went to outlet, so use it and enjoy!

I don't like when I get the 'outlet' version of a bag, and I don't like to get the stuff made only for the outlets. Don't know why, I'm weird. I LOVE LOVE LOVE when I find a full price boutique bag for a steal at the outlets though (I only get to an outlet maybe twice a year, so it's not super often). At Christmas, I found a mahogany patent gallery tote for $143...Merry Christmas to me!
I know that coach makes specific models just for the outlet, but what is an "outlet version of a bag"?

for example, the patchwork totes. they always come out with an outlet version, that is the same material and everything that the boutique had, but maybe just a different shape (a little taller instead of wide, etc). I can spot those a mile away. there's nothing wrong with them, I just like the boutique stuff. They will usually come out with a very similar version of the holiday patchwork the following fall for the outlets (see below, they also did it for the purple and gold from 2005 and I'm sure this fall there will be brown and pink ones like the 2006 holiday patchwork)

here's the outlet version (all I could find was a wristlet - see how there is no white suede patches? they replaced that with a houndstoothy tweed). It's still pretty, but it's the outlet version (came out in fall 2005) of the holiday 2004 bag

I generally don't care for the outlet only bags or the mini C signature bags from the outlets. To me, there are too many bags in the sea to buy one from the outlet (unless it was one that I absolutely adored from the retail store).

the nearest one is 3 hours from me too. I love when I find some cool rare boutique Coach at the outlets for a steal. I've mentioned my mahogany patent gallery tote at the rehoboth beach, de outlets. I honestly about did a little happy dance around the store I was so excited, I walked in, spotted it, and about ran to the back of the store!I've only made one outlet purchase and didn't feel the least bit weird about it. The closest one to me is over three hours away.
Just about everything I have came from the outlet. I love the outlets! They put so much more in my price range. I love the feeling of getting a deal. Plus I enjoy carrying an older bag. It's fun to have something different than current styles in my opinion (not that I wouldn't love a current bag).
ITA. I love having the older stuff, then you don't feel like everyone around you is carrying the same thing
The first time I went into a Coach outlet i thought Ihad died and gone to heaven, so much stuff and the signs that said clearence 20% off , I almost screamed when i saw it !
I only pay full price if I LOVE it and think "this will sell out & won't make it to an outlet!!" I'd much rather buy everything at a discount. Just like the other ladies said it's still a real Coach bag!!
I love the outlet. I have only purchased 2 bags from the boutique, my legacy whiskey shoulder and last week my signature gallery tote (both pce so I still saved $) I also knew chances were slim of me ever coming across either of these bags at the outlet and the one closest to me rarely gets any signature so I figured pce was my best chance to get one for less. Enjoy your new purchase and be glad you saved some cash!
