our dear lilach would argue that this is a bargain since you have to be an Hermes VVIP to be able to get a Birkin in this specs. and mind you, you'd have to spend more than $100,000 at Hermes to be one.

what you said is exactly right! those rare colors on ebay are priced high but aimed at a special clientele (and they do sell few weeks back there where other rare colors on ebay as well all gone by now)

I wonder if Victoria B. is considered a special client, but she always has a great birkin, matching her outfit in that exact shade. I was always thinking what did she get first: the birkin and then finds the right shade of dress, or the other way around?
Are those bags SO? If yes how long it takes? If the dress comes first, then it could get outdated before she receives the order.
Does she have to buy RTW to place an order?

I especially admire that famous hot pink dress w/ cap sleeves and matching exactly ostrich birkin.

Ebay's reseller prices are getting more and more ridiculous but there are lots of people still buying.. Economics are going down (at least here where I live), so I really wouldn't like to pay double the retail price just to avoid the waiting list.. Couldn't afford it!

What?? This is a $50,000 bag?? Lately I have been into Mini Coopers. I really want one. So one handbag or 4 minis yeah 4!!! I mean wow. I would be afraid of losing the purse or getting it stolen. The purse would need insurance, its own driver... the list could go on and on.

$100k for a bag is absolutely insane, that is crazy! But I guess some people must think it's not so insane otherwise the ebay seller might not be listing for that price :wtf:

I love MINIs too! I bought a MINI Cooper there in July (the new type) - had to wait two months for it to be built in the MINI factory in Oxford, England, it was a looong wait, but it's fab :yahoo:

you would definitely not get me paying 100k for a bag from eBay, and especially with pictures like that, i was not convinced, however, i don't think i would part with 100k for any bag, i would give it to a poor country first - see how humble i am??

i think a lot of the time she orders the bag, then has the designer make her a dress in that particular shade.

there was a rumour that h made her a bag to match her dress (the lilac one) but i think it was the other way round.

Pffft, don't you know, it has a special type of diamond on it... the invisible kind. :)

But seriously, WTF... that is out of control. The buyer could have purchased THREE from the boutique instead.
