10 Bags You Saw The Most in the street?

My comment was more in reference to those wearing giant Gucci or LV bags that are in that realm pricewise.

Coach, TB, MK, etc. are on the lower pricepoint, but I don't see Rebecca Minkoff here either. DvF falls under contemporary in my eyes too.

I honestly don't hate them either. I buy what I like, regardless of designer. I've just grown weary of the in your face logo for logo's sake, the so and so bought has one, so I'm going to buy one mentality, and the assumption that all nice bags are one of the aforementioned brands. If one legitimately likes the bag, regardless of where it's purchased, rock it and screw the naysayers, but I think there's better things to focus on than proving a point to someone else with a purse.

If you've ever branched into the contemporary designer forums you would see that most of these women that are on this forum do not post or talk about their typical bags. It's to show the unexpected. Most of these bags are expensive. Nobody's really talking about their $20 target find. These women are amazing whether they have a $100 purse or a $2,000 purse. To each is his own. We all have different taste.

I have so many things to think about in my life and a purse that is over $500 isn't reasonable in my life. Yes, I could buy more of the premier purses, but I honestly don't want to. My computer cost the same as a Chanel. My computer is something I use very often. We all choose what we spend our money on. I come from humble beginnings and to have everything equal in my life is important.

I focus on myself, and not brands. Most of the people in my area wouldn't even know how to pronounce Prozena Schouler. HAHAHA! I have some of the clothes, I think they're wonderful.

I think it's exciting to try different brands low point price and high point price. So, I will do as you say and forget about the naysayers. I'm going to rock my bag, because I love it. It makes me ridiculously happy.

The OP's question wasn't about those which are most frequently discussed in the forums. It was about the popular handbags where you live. The mentalities of which I spoke are those that I see all too frequently where I live which is where my frustration is.

9 out of 10 women here carry coach and if they don't, they wish they did. I don't understand what's so exciting about a C stitched all around a bag. They're usually all black or beige. Snore. I can spot a Coach owner from a mile away. It's like the C's are hypnotizing the women!

Coach has beautiful leather bags with no 'C's.....just like most brands that have their signature all over the bag and their line that doesn't.

Yes I know this. Here is a quote I said earlier.

I'm in typical Coach H E double hockey sticks. Most women on here don't wear the typical Coach purses. Like Coach Cruiser. She has the most beautiful bags and they're Coach. Coach has great style, but their bags, just like Michael Kors has a lower end bag that everybody flocks to because it's somewhat affordable and somewhat stylish.

Alberta, Canada

Depends on the area, but this is what I've generally seen

No particular order:

-Coach: outlet bags, logo bags
-Michael Kors: hamilton, jet set tote series
-Tory Burch: lots of fakes
-Marc by Marc Jacobs: hillier, natasha, fran/cesca
-Kate Spade
-Louis Vuitton (real and fake): speedy, neverfull, eva
-Prada (real and fake): saffiano lux tote
-Alexander wang: rocco and rockie
-Guess
-Lots of fake Chanel: mostly caviar flaps and GST
-Rebecca Minkoff: mini mac

Lots of heat on contemporary brands in this thread, especially on Coach! Why is that?

Manila (usually in malls/restaurants I frequent so to speak)

1. Michael Kors (esp. the Jetset Tote)
2. Longchamp Le Pliage
3. LV (real and fake, esp. Neverfull and Speedy)
4. Coach
5. Lacoste
6. Guess
7. Gucci (real and fake)
8. Burberry (real and fake)

Obviously, the monogram bags of most of the brands mentioned above are really noticeable in public. Maybe there are other brands like Kate Spade and Tory Burch that are carried frequently out there as well but my eyes are not "trained" in the style of their bags so I don't notice them as easily as the others. I wish there were more Rebecca Minkoff in the streets or the malls. I'd love to bump into someone rocking a RM! ^^)

I live in Vancouver, BC and these bags are the ones that I see most frequently.

- Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 (Specifically in Monogram print)
- Louis Vuitton Neverfull (Most of the ones I've come across are in the MM size and also in Monogram print)
- Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran (Specifically in Black. Generally, MBMJ is super popular and I see their bags everywhere but I would say this style is the most common)
- Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac
- Balenciaga City
- Prada Saffiano Double Zip Tote
- Coach (Mainly the ones with their multiple C logos, I don't often see people carrying the leather bags)
- Michael Kors (Can't really be specific since I see a variety of different styles all the time but one that I see very very often is the Selma)
- Longchamp Pliage
- Tory Burch (Same as Michael Kors)

Is it bad that I don't pay attention to what other people have? I do pay attention to my close friends handbags because we share that common interest...

If I had to make a general comment... I'd say I see mostly coach and MK monogram bags here in eastern NC.

I will say that when I am in bigger cities for work (e.g., Boston, Charlotte), I see LV everywhere. Something about that brand just pops out like someone wearing a red dress at an all white party. It is hard for me to not see it. Hope that makes sense.

Las Vegas last weekend for Labor Day: Chanel, Chanel, Chanel -- all classic flap back lambskin. I am now officially over Chanel - it was everywhere. Other than that LV.

Beverly Hills: Hermes and Chanel, Chanel, Chanel.

Just not sure where I go from here

I love sitting in cafés in crowded places and just watch women and their bags! That is also how I have discovered huge differences in the brands and models that are being worn. I travel a lot between Germany and the Netherlands and see:

Düsseldorf/Germany:
1. LV Speedy all the way and in all patterns, #1 by far
2. Longchamp Le Pliage in all sizes/colors
3. LV Neverfull
4. Michael Kors Jet Set Tote (and others)
5. Hermes Birkin Bag
6. Chanel Flap bags
7. Prada Vitello Daino Tote (and others)
8. Gucci mixed
9. Celine mixed
10. Guess bags

Very little Minkoff/MBMJ/Tory/Coach to be seen here.

In Eindhoven/NL it would be:

1-10: Michael Kors

:D true story though!

I live in the Boston suburbs, this is what I see at least!
-Vera Bradley anything... I'm not sure if it's just New England, but everyone has a Vera Bradley tote or wristlet!!
-Coach Signature Canvas, some real and some knocked off....Mainly in the tan/dark-brown logos...
-Longchamp Le Pliage totes.... Popular among the high-school students and other workers. Occasionally I'll see a couple knock-offs, which is a shame...
-Tory Burch: The brand is becoming more and more popular, at least here... A lot of people have the nylon Ella tote.
-Michael Kors handbags.... Mostly also logo-covered, some patent and some just jacquard... I do see a Hamilton every once in a while, though. I've seen a couple continental wallets used as clutches.

These are the main types, but I've also seen these:
-Kate Spade, usually the satchel types. I also occasionally see crossbodies.
-Louis Vuitton, mainly monogram Neverfulls but I do sometimes see a DE and sometimes a DA.... I see a couple Evas in Monogram and DE, as well. I actually don't see a lot of Speedies, though...
-Dooney and Bourke, mainly logos but sometimes a leather bag.
-Gucci: Mainly, again, brown and tan monogram, which is a bummer because Gucci Leather is so nice! I wish I could see a bamboo bag on a live person and not in store, but it just seems that people are into monograms lately....
-Chanel: I'll occasionally see people donning flap bags, but sometimes they are fakes which disappoint me. They tend to wear the longer strap as a shoulder-messsenger style bag.
