In a mid-size city in southwest US:

No-name animal print (I have no idea why they're popular, but they're all over the mall in kiosks and smaller stores)
Vera Bradley
Wal-mart, Target, etc. bags
Coach
Guess
Michael Kors
A VERY few LV

I have not seen a Hermes Birkin here, but one was spotted in a smaller town a few miles away. Also interesting, I haven't seen a single Juicy bag. Not in the department stores, not carried. It's more of a western atmosphere, so leather and cowboy motifs are really popular.

1. LV Speedy (real and fake, Monogram, Damier, Azur....)
2. LV Neverfull (same here, real and fake, Mono, Damier, Azur...)
3. Gucci Joy
4. Gucci Tote

7. Other random LV Style

I'm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Top 10 bags I saw most are (fake and real included):
1. LV Speedy
2. LV Neverfull
3. Coach - CCCC monogram
4. Gucci - the light brown fabric monogram
5. Prada - only black nylon with the triangle metal plaque
6. Longchamp
7. Chanel flap-inspired
8. Guess

10. Anya Hindmarch's I'm Not A Plastic Bag

In Phoenix, it depends where you are, but the most pervasive brands you see are:

LV Monogram, I don't really notice the styles when I see all those LV's
Coach, not a Coach fan, so I don't know the styles

Upper east side Manhattan. Its Chanel/Hermes country here. with some Balenciaga thrown in. I probably see 50-100 Birkin on the street every day. That would probably be the bag I see the most, followed by Chanel flap

In Munich, Germany there's a real brand bag pest going on. The girls will size you up if you don't carry this seasons massmarket it-bag. It's bad, they don't understand that sometimes it is not about what everybody else dangles on her arm but about a really special bag that stands out. If you stroll along the main shopping street on Saturday every fifth female and every 7th guy carries a monogram Speedy.

Brands I saw there most are:
Longchamp Le Pliage
LV Speedys
LV Pochettes
LV Neverfull
Gucci Tassel Hassles
Balenciaga
BREE
Mandarina Duck
H&M Jimmy Choo and other cheapo repros
George, Gina & Lucy
preferred brands are also RL, Hermes, La Martina, Hilfiger and sometimes you would spot me there with my miu miu bow :) Surprisingly I didn't see many of the new MCM bags. I bought one last year and thought they really revamped the brand. Sadly you can buy MCM along with the leftovers of Escada and Laurel at the nearby outlet villages. Usually that means certain death for the brand.

As for Berlin, I've only relocated here recently and must say that they really don't seem to care about bags. I saw a girl carrying a bow bag the other day and some Turkish girls with Sprouse Speedys. There's a lot of fakes here as Turkey is a major producer of fake bags (esp. LV and Prada) and many lower-income households go on family vacation in Turkey. My eyes hurt a lot these days.

Here in S. Florida recently unless I happen to go to the mall which is very touristy and "international":

Tons of Coach and Foach
LV and fake LV
Lots of Vera Bradley
Dooney
Random Chanel
Gucci
A few Burberry and Prada here and there
Plenty of Guess type bags
A lot of no-name imitation type purses

Wow! It's been a few years since I've been to South Florida, but I'm really surprised about the Vera Bradley! I always associated that brand with suburban preppy...
