Hi everyone

I accidentally purchase a Fake Vintage Chanel micro belt bag on P*shmark. It’s looked authentic from the pictures and P*shmark also deemed authentic by theirs in house authenticator but when I received the bag I found so many spots that I’m sure it’s not the Chanel Quality so I got helped from my friend who have exactly the same model.

I immediately contact P*shmark and give them all the details also the comparison of 2 bags. They still confirm the bag is authentic and then I paid another USD 30 to R*al authentication and they also deemed the bag Authentic!

I am sure the bag is Fake because I worked in the Vintage Fashion industry for 10 years I know right after I opened the box that this bag is not authentic and now they need me to contact 2 more well-known authenticator website to confirm the bag is fake so they will open up the case again!

I’m here because I need to warn that online shopping is not safe anymore because China know that online market is getting bigger and bigger they develop their skills and their products so it’s very hard to tell from the pictures but guess what the R* Authenticator website require only a few pictures to authenticate the items and they can tell you whatever because they got nothing to prove themselves and no reputation to lost!! If you want to get a bag get it from the reputable shop only.

I need your opinions what am I supposed to do next? Any recommendation for the Authenticator website experienced in vintage?

Thank you

Online shopping has never been safe for preowned luxury goods. The risk is always there so it’s always ideal to either shop from boutiques directly or get it authenticated from 3rd parities prior to purchasing. It’s not exactly necessary to bring another country that may not even have anything to do with this particular case to this topic (even though it may not have the best track record), but at the same time I completely understand your frustrations and felt terrible that you had to go through this... It seems that the best solution as for now is to get more authenticators on the case... :( Out of curiosity, how do you know the one from your friend is real when both are vintage and hard to authenticate?

Because I’ve been working in the Vintage Hi-end fashion industry for 10 years I sold almost 5,000 Vintage Bags and this is my first time making a mistake bought this bag online cause pictures from the seller looked great.

This is sad.
Poshmark is suppose to authenticate these items over $500. For them to send you a card it was authenticated is just wrong. Make sure you mention the name of the person on the card that says they authenticated it so the company can remove them from the items authentication process. The grain on the “leather”, the stitching, the metal, the color is completely off on this fake. Im no authenticator but even someone that isnt can tell it’s a knock off. Still though, try to get it legitimately authenticated by someone and hope they can give you some form of proof in case Poshmark doesnt want to give you your money back. Best of luck!

Poshmark will authenticate all items over $500 before ship them to buyer. in this case, I need to brought their name here cause they cost me $1600 on cheap quality fake Chanel

And they also sent a pictures to Real Authentication to re authenticate they still confirmed it’s authentic.Should I cry or laugh ?

This is so disappointing. Real Authentication is super unreliable. Poshmark's authentication is as reliable as Vestiaire Collective's and Grailed's authentication. All are horrible. The fact that the bag and dust bag look blatantly fake makes this matter worse.

I heard Etinceler Authentications is a good authenticator for Chanel; maybe they can help, but they're closing down by the end of the month.
