Hi klj - I totally understand what you're asking!
about restocking - It depends on the store.
From experience I can say that Bal.com does restock - at times
I check there occasionally and am surprised to see items for sale that were unavailable the day before.
Hey klj!!! I would also try calling Nordie's - there is an awesome SA at the downtown Portland store named Hannah - she has helped me with Bal before and is very good at tracking stuff down!
The only downside is that since Nordie's doesn't specialize per se in Bal they will likely not know as much about the bags as we do. If the SA is unsure about about the color of style for a certain bag, just have them tell you what number are on the paper Bal tags and you will be able to figure out the rest from the guides on tPF.
And btw - my 08 Anthra has subtle blue undertones. The most accurate pic of the color is the very first one in my reveal thread. HTH!![]()
So, I've never purchased from a Balenciaga store -- all my Bals have been purchased from authorized dealer dept stores here. It's been my experience that they have a list of all of the items from a particular season/collection that they have ordered, whether or not they have arrived, so they can look up for you whether they are going to get X bag with Y leather and Z hardware or P shoes in Q size etc. and then you can ask them to notify you when they do. I'm not sure about the restocking issue -- I wouldn't be surprised if they move stock around based on demand, but I'm totally guessing. The best bet is definitely to call either a Bal store or an authorized dealer and establish a good relationship with an SA and get them to help you get your hands on the bag you need, and/or to explain how it works. Just a warning, though, this can be dangerous as the SAs may start to learn your taste and call you when a new shipment arrives = temptation!
