I have a curious question because I'm new to Bal...since I'm after the 2010 GSH City in Anthra....is this bag now hard to find even though its 2010?
I just am not familiar with how fast things sell out..etc...or how hard it will be to find.

Thanks!:flowers:

I just wanted to bump up my last question as I didn't want to start another thread besides this one...thanks for helping a new gal to Balenciaga and answering my lame questions!:amuse:

I was planning on calling...but just wanted to know about availability...
Once its gone do they restock, etc.

Thanks..sorry for so many questions.:oh:

Unfortunately I (and others) can't help with those answers regarding restocking. I don't want to sound patronizing but we don't work at the stores so those questions are difficult to answer on the forum. The s/a's would know about what's currently in stock and restocking.

Hi klj - I totally understand what you're asking!
about restocking - It depends on the store.

From experience I can say that Bal.com does restock - at times
I check there occasionally and am surprised to see items for sale that were unavailable the day before.

Hey klj!!! I would also try calling Nordie's - there is an awesome SA at the downtown Portland store named Hannah - she has helped me with Bal before and is very good at tracking stuff down!

The only downside is that since Nordie's doesn't specialize per se in Bal they will likely not know as much about the bags as we do. If the SA is unsure about about the color of style for a certain bag, just have them tell you what number are on the paper Bal tags and you will be able to figure out the rest from the guides on tPF. :smile1:

And btw - my 08 Anthra has subtle blue undertones. The most accurate pic of the color is the very first one in my reveal thread. HTH!

So, I've never purchased from a Balenciaga store -- all my Bals have been purchased from authorized dealer dept stores here. It's been my experience that they have a list of all of the items from a particular season/collection that they have ordered, whether or not they have arrived, so they can look up for you whether they are going to get X bag with Y leather and Z hardware or P shoes in Q size etc. and then you can ask them to notify you when they do. I'm not sure about the restocking issue -- I wouldn't be surprised if they move stock around based on demand, but I'm totally guessing. The best bet is definitely to call either a Bal store or an authorized dealer and establish a good relationship with an SA and get them to help you get your hands on the bag you need, and/or to explain how it works. Just a warning, though, this can be dangerous as the SAs may start to learn your taste and call you when a new shipment arrives = temptation!

Ok, this is slightly off-topic, but can I take a moment to complain about bal.com? I can't shop from there anyway because it could be trouble to ship a bag through customs, so I stick to Harvey Nichols etc., but I often look at Bal.com to compare prices and see if I should wait and buy something in the US or UK on a future trip etc. And their stock is so relatively limited! I've never seen a Club, and, if I remember right, not a Velo either on bal.com, or many other styles. Plus, it sometimes seems that, as with stores, they have older stock available (for instance some items on the US site still show availabliity in 09 colors like raisin, galet, etc.). Of course, this is good for those Bal fans looking for a particular item, but just seems confusing and I can't follow the logic in terms of what they put on there and what they don't (why for example, have something like cassette, several neoclassics and not velo, club, courier??)

End rant. :back2topic:

That's too funny, Lo!! I just got her card the other day(talked to her for a long while..) and will probably try to find my bag through her...I can't believe you suggest her...lol...she is VERY nice, I agree:smile1:
She wasn't sure on a few minor things but I think your right about helping each other out..(we can help them..they can help us..)

Lol...that could be bad..:p
Thanks, Safa:smile1:

I think that's right about the color of the hardware...I've got an 09 work with GGH, when I put a canard RGGH town next to it, they basically looked like the same color. (At least I assume it's an 09, I haven't looked at the tags, just went by what Bal LV said.)

I was looking into purchasing my first Anthra. I was holding off for a while. I was so set to get the Giant City with silver hardware already. It came out on Balenciaga.com right after the price increase.

Then I looked again today, the color changed. :/

I'd like to have an almost-gray bag but the new one that's posted is almost like too blue.

Is it just the lighting or the hardware? But leather colors of both bags are the same?
