So the key is warming up the handles first? I didn't do that when I tried the cornstarch first....hmmmmmmmmm! It's worth another try!

So can you give us a step by step?

Warm the handles, then pack on the cornstarch? Did you rub a lot? Do you keep warming the handles after the cornstarch is on?

This is ok but never rub the handles hardly, use a clean towel, keep warming and rubbing till the cornstartch absorve the oil...warming and rubbing...warming and rubbing...that is what I did...;)

Psd: THIS DOESN´T WORK ON VERY DARKENED HANDLES.

It´s very simple, I only used cornstartch and warm, this is the biggggg secret, are you all satisfied?. I let you imagine the rest...come on girls try it I want to see results!. Anyway it depens all the way you do it and if you´re handy or not, so... remember... I´m not responsable for posible damages ladies....good luck!

I think i do understand it first we make some pudding from cornstark with babyschampoo. And put it al over the yummie but dirty bag and after that we put it in the microwave oven for an hour. And that wil do the job.

lololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol

No i do understand i think so U first warm the handles with a blowdryer and then rub the cornstarck over the handles and let it absorb the grease. I U have to blowdry after the cornstarck Your whole house wil look like a coke factory. So that would not be possible. I want to try it now but my bag has to be send-of tomorow i hope. The seller was the weekend away.
AAlinne i love Your great help. And please show the rest of the restauration and what kind of moiturize do U use. Maybe i can get i here in Holland also. We have some but i do think Your is and looks better.

Hi crazyaboutbags,
I have a special love for the oldies, and Yes U can send them all to me.
I paint them al black with penetrating paint. I think they also had some in dark brown and dark blue.

Aalinne we are al exited how the story continues.

Hugs and a kis for al the lovely people over here FX:heart::heart::heart:

And champagne for everyone ( little brittan)

Hi gals, updates! On monday I will receive the whole products I ordered to a professional for the twiggy restore, even the original penetrating dye!. I will repair the missing leather on the corners, (very tiny) with liquid leather, have you ever heard about this??. That is what professional leather restorers use. Can´t wait to start with this work, I will only touch up with the dye the damaged parts, the rest will keep it like original. I´m thinking about dyeing the handles, so then they will look as new.;)

I am so exited, i cant waith.
When U showed the pics wearing this beauty i did think it was already restored. So stupid of me maybe next time i have to put on my glases (-2,5 each eye)
Good luck girl i wil keep on looking hugs and greetings FX:heart::heart::heart:

I remember reading about how LMB remove the oil from handles before and the formula is very close to aalinne's. LMB mixed cornstarch with some liquid (dunno what it is. Could it be a detergent of some kind?) into a paste, then apply all over the handles. Then she would warm them up with a big lamp and let the cornstarch suck out the oil. I even saw a picture of her in that "sun room" with all the bags under treatment.

please keep us update how the restore go ;)

i just scored myself a blue twiggy for a deal, pretty much like your rosey.... i want to restore myself too....... hmmmmm i'm thinking to dye to another color, something in red? what do you think? not sure the original color from pics but thinking it's EB????? :p

Aalinne you did an awesome job with your grey 04 cannot wait to see this beauty too!

Did you mix the cornstarch with anything? I tried this with my 05 grey city, but it isn't working. I am considering mixing it with water. What do you guys think?

You've done an amazing job on the handles. I did a double take. It might be useful for all of us if you'd post pictures of the new professional kit you've purchased? I don't quite understand how you used cornstarch and got it all out!

I put baby powder on myself and sometimes it gets on the bag that I am using, and it's difficult to even shake off! Just how did you do this? I can't imagine!

I'm excited to find out how this turns out. So do update soon!
