Hi ladies!. I´m into on a different aventure this time, more interesting and funny than ever, I guess...:graucho: I purchased a very damaged 04 rose twiggy but will try to restore it myself with the help of a local spanish leather specialist, I´m so thrilled thinking about the idea of making myself this bag back to life...For now I only have cleaned the whole bag included the handles. There are still too many things to have done on this poor little angel but I know I can..... YES I CAN!!:p

I will be posting before and after pics on the way, or what it is the same...thing fixed... pics posted...wish me luck please!!:happydance:

Lets start for what I fixed the first...removing oil from handles:

Awesome job until now my sweet aalinne and I'm sure you'll do a super amazing restoring job for the rest of the bag... BRAVO!!! :okay:
Lots of kisses :smooch:

Oh my gosh, aalinne! How did you do those handles? I bought a beat up 04 turq Twiggy to dye, but I fell in love with the color and just can't go through with the dying. The handles look like your "Before" shot! I'd love to know your technique. I tried cornstarch the other day and made a HUGE mess with little result...lol

OMG . can't believe how you cleaned the underside of the handles. I need/must know your cleaning secret. I can never get between the whip stitchings.

Please PLEASE share your secret with us or just me

U have to tell us how U did clean those handles and with what U are going to moisturize them. I am exited the bag looks so good. I did buy also an oldie a caramel purse i think 2005 with a litle bit used handles and some scrufiing and dirt on the corners. But i am waithing until it arives. I dont know if the model suits me a purse is a bit smaller as i am used and maybe a bit feminin but i love the colour and older leather and what i did see from the pics i liked it. I hope it is so in real life U never know. Please help me other wise i am going to send it to the SPANISH SPA AALINNE_72. And she is real bussy right know. And its to expensive with sendingcosts and so.
Hugs and a kiss to U and Your lovely bags FX:heart::heart::heart:

It´s very simple, I only used cornstartch and warm, this is the biggggg secret, are you all satisfied?. I let you imagine the rest...come on girls try it I want to see results!. Anyway it depens all the way you do it and if you´re handy or not, so... remember... I´m not responsable for posible damages ladies....good luck!

So the key is warming up the handles first? I didn't do that when I tried the cornstarch first....hmmmmmmmmm! It's worth another try!

So can you give us a step by step?

Warm the handles, then pack on the cornstarch? Did you rub a lot? Do you keep warming the handles after the cornstarch is on?
