I'm going to answer my question posted above. I went ahead and I bought the 2004 holiday city pewter. I already had a 2005/3 holiday pewter. Here are the comparison photos between a 2005/1 (or sometimes called the 04 holiday pewter) and a 2005/3 holiday pewter.
Here are the cards:
The leather colors are identical. In the above photo, you can't tell where one bag ends, and another begins.
The next photo shows the front of each bag. The top bag is the 04 holiday collection, and the bottom bag is the 05 holiday collection. The top bag has the hardware that matches the metallic color. The bottom bag has the shiny silver hardware.
The next photo shows the difference in the rivets and the webbing color:
Note the rivets on the 04 holiday pewter are larger, metallic type of color, and are without indents. The 05 holiday pewter are smaller, shiny silver, and have the indents. Also, where the handles have whipstitching, please note that where the edge is sealed, the 04 color is a lighter color, and the 05 color is darker.

Next, here is a photo showing the difference on the inside tag - there is a big difference between the tags: The holiday 04 (or 05/1 as the official card states) has the metal plate - "A" also indicates 2005. The Holiday 05 is a metallic leather tag which says, BALENCIAGA_PARIS. Looking at the metal plate, you can see that it looks tarnished, but I don't know if it is tarnished or if it is meant to match the rest of the hardware.
My DH and I are watching our college football team play on TV tonight. Our daughter had her homecoming dance tonight, so we couldn't go down to watch the game in person, so while watching the football game, I decided to work on some projects I have been wanting to do for TPF. Hope this is helpful!

... kidding!). Actually, I was travelling quite a bit in the fall and have recently started a new job 
! So, I'm back ... WOO HOO!!!Yeah, I think I need to update the "list" because I did buy quite a few "goodies" in my travels ...

2) Violet City w/ SGH, Tomato City w/ SGH and Black City w/ SGH (all of these have since gone to Real Deal as I'm trading in for the Violet Part-Time w/ GGH that she had up!).

4) Violet Make-Up
5) French Blue Mini Toilet Case (hate that name!)
I'm always on the look-out for the Metallics though ... they really are my favorites (other than my beloved
Rouge Vif!).
