I have never had anything fall out. I keep phone and cles in the front pocket and often forget to zip (bus pass in cles gets a lot of use)

The top zip is fine to leave open as well as it sits so closely to your body.

I have this bag (in different finish) and it's actually one of my most used bags.
It's big enough to fit my interchangeable lens camera, yet small enough to wear cross body and be hands free!
