A lot of people use an mcraft leather (Etsy) strap that looks like LV but cheaper. Some buy LV straps.

Swimming/bathing in Cartier BB or tank?

The Ballon Bleu, and the Tank are only rated to 30m, which is the lowest rating of water resistance and it is generally not advisable to wear them in water. Basically, it is ok if they gets splashed with water but they should not be submerged or worn for swimming.

Some experts say one should only wear a watch in water if it is water resistant to at least 100 meters. In addition, even if a watch has that level of water resistance, you are supposed to bring the watch to a service shop and have it pressure tested every 18 months to 2 years if it is being worn in water. The rubber gaskets in the watch case that keep the watch water resistant can dry out and crack in which case water can get into your watch and ruin the movement and dial.

Carre satchel vs Universite

Hello - I recognize this thread is old, but curious if you went with the Carre or Celine. I love the look of the Celine box bag but am also loving the Carre in the croc embossed. I am looking for a good bag from day to night and wondering if the Carre meets this? I can’t tell from pics online if the strap can easily be removed or tucked in to make it a clutch?
I also am looking at the YSL sunset in croc embossed but think I might prefer a bag with the logo less obvious. Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Wedding band Tiffany & Co Fake or Real?

Hi all
I’ve lurked around these forums on and off over the years but now I need some of your expert eyes to tell me what you think about this ring I’ve purchased via eBay.
What ct size do people think this is? Seller claims this is 0.60ct with a 2.3mm band size but best I can find on Tiffany & Co for that diamond size is 2.5mm.

I think it is this onehttps://www.tiffany.co.uk/jewelry/rings/tiffany-diamond-wedding-band-GRP00314/
What do others think? Fake or real?

This ring is definitely genuine! The diamond band rings that T&Co make in this style currently come in a 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm and 3.9mm width. You haven’t mentioned (that I could see) what size the ring is as that would be a clue to the carat weight. Regarding the markings, they are definitely genuine T&Co, and as you live in the UK, all jewelry there has the “extra” UK hallmarking which is seen in your photos. A great find on your part!!

Has anyone seen this chain design for the Kate satchel?

Hi guys, not an authentication request per se, but I was browsing through some listings and saw that a kate bag I was interested in had this type of chain:

I’ve never seen it on a kate satchel before. Google came up with a few depop listings that had this same chain layout, but nothing from official stores or press releases showed this.
This design of the Kate is limited edition and therefore quite specific. No second hand photos or official photos that I have seen of it show this chain layout.

Believe that this style of chain is called the gourmette and it’s not detachable. Therefore I’m wondering whether Saint Laurent ever made something like this?

I think I’d actually prefer it as I think this lets you shorten the strap to an under arm length.

The bag’s heat stamp also seems a bit wonky... though it could be the angle.

Help with Chanel hair clip

Hello everyone! I have this Chanel hair clip that I originally bought for my wedding this year (unfortunately due to COVID, it will be going down differently) and I think I no longer need this piece. Does anyone have any tips for how to sell this? It's brand new never used and I have never sold any designer piece yet. Should I try to find a consignment? Or somehow try to find a buyer directly? Please let me know recommendations!! And if you know anyone you can let me know as well. I have attached a picture of the clip and can of course send pics of my specific piece with proof etc.

Thank you!

heres my necklace in bad lighting.it's a special piece and it's versatile. i have the matching bracelet and add them together as a lariat or a longer necklace. on it's own it is a beautiful length, if a little formal. but i LIKE dressing up, even for lunch, even to go grocery shopping. life is too short for athleisure 24/7. i'll be one of those older women in feather coats when i age. you seem to be leaning towards it so i say get it. don't be afraid to sparkle! and dont worry if you do not feel it right now. the world has gone to hell and i don;t feel much like dressing up either. people trying to make fashion happen in a mask are troopers but that's not me. one day when fashion matters again, you'll have a fabulous necklace.

Limited Edition Pieces + Rarity Scale

Hi everybody! Since I’ve started actively seeking out LE/seasonal pieces I’m beginning to notice different choices in wording, specifically in how “rare” is used. Are some lines actually rarer than others? Is there even criteria we can utilize in that regard? Is it based upon desire-ability or is it just a way to make more money off of pieces? For reference I’m talking about seasonal pieces. Thank you!

A SA @ Chanel Bloomingdale “ rude & despicable “

Anyone had experience buying Chanel shoes from 59th Bloomies?

I was trying a few shoes on today and usually once I finished trying the shoes I will put it back where it was. But then the SA kept taking the shoes I tried back to the rack. No customers were around at that time. That was extremely rude that I have not finished trying yet he put the shoes back to the display racks. I would never buy anything from there other than the boutiques!!!

Help restyling old tennis bracelet!

I was on another tennis bracelet thread earlier and saw someone post a picture of a tennis anklet, which I found really cool and distinctive! You could just add another bar or two and wear it on your ankle for a slightly edgy take?

Another idea--and this will definitely depend on your style--but what about turning it into a brooch? I could see the bars stacked together looking really cool and "Art Deco." You could melt the crosses down and use them as accents, or just use the yellow gold to pay for resetting it? But I could see a brooch (perhaps with a larger centre stone or pearl added) being quite a departure from what you currently have, and maybe a fun way to shake it up.

Depending on how heavy the bracelet is, you could divide it in half and have a pair of long earrings; that would look very glamorous too. I think it also comes down to whether you want an everyday piece or something for special occasions. The brooch and long earrings are likely not everyday pieces in the same way.
