This JUST arrived from Europe, what do you think?

WOW. The idea is great, I love it, looks very very nice. But... I hate to be the bad cop here, but checking their website, they seem to use 0% authentic Vuitton material, even though they claim to do so. There is a close up photo of a disassembled bag on the site, where the pattern can be seen better, and it clearly is made of counterfeit canvas. The white embossed canvas was also never a thing. The white Monogram-embossed Taurillon pieces by Virgil are the closest LV ever made, but this is not that. The pattern is even more off than their counterfeit classic Monogram. My last issue is that for this amount of money, and as alleged luxury enthusiast, they really could align the patterns. Even though both of those are far from the authentic version.
I don't want to be negative, sorry if it seems so, I love the idea and these frames are very very fun. But at those prices it is robbery. If they would make them from real vintage LV canvas, it would be kinda justified, but like this, not. We can argue, that there is an 'added art' factor, but that also doesn't worth $350+.

Maverick - real or fake?

Hi all,
I’m looking to buy the maverick bag, but I’m wondering if it could be fake. My friend has a blue one and the one I’m looking at is black, second hand. When comparing the inner tags, I found them to be quite different. See pics. My friend bought hers at the MBMJ store, so we’re sure it’s real. The first one is the real one and the second one is the one I’m looking to buy.

those of you that have the maverick in black, could you check your tags for me?

Thank you!

In LOVE with my Boite!

Beautiful ! Congrats....I esp. love the feature where you can remove the tag and hang a bag charm of the day !!
Hey ladies and gents. I had to come share some pics of my new love! After waiting all weekend for the bag to be delivered knowing it was stuck in transit 15 minutes from me she finally arrived Monday. Needless to say I was not too thrilled with UPS. But it was worth the wait!! The bag is absolutely gorgeous in person. It's soft yet firm. The leather patina is beautiful. The hardware is stunning and it holds just the right amount of items. Can you tell I'm in love. Lol.

I LOVE this bag, yours is gorgeous! Is it easy enough to get into? Does it hold phone/wallet/keys?

Chanel new metallics

It’s beautiful! Congrats! Just be careful with the corners And edges..that is where I’ve seen the most noticeable wear on metallic reissues. I would carry a bag hook with me or always put this beauty on a chair. Never on the floor. Additionally, alcohol containing products such as hand sanitizer can affect the metallic finish so make sure your hands are completely dry before you touch the bag!

Cartier Love bangleRG or YG

I was in the same boat. My DH liked the YG but my SA and I both thought the RG suited my skin tone better, just a little better. And in some light it was hard to tell which one was PG and which one was YG.

Before my purchase I only wore WG And never thought I would be mixing color. Well I ended up buying the thin ring to stack with my wedding ring and then I got the Rolex two tone date just to match

Thank you... The rose gold looked better against my skin tone I think. I don’t know why I’m doubting myself. I think it’s because it’s such a big purchase. The SA preferred the RG too. My DH the yellow but he’s a big YG fan.

Maybe it’s because I own no RG that I’m questioning my choice. Perhaps I need the matching ring one day lol...

Should I buy my first Cartier piece??

I did not "invest" in jewelry or branded items until I was much older and had the funds to do it. But I share your sentiment and although I think about every purchase carefully, I do look at some of my pieces sometimes and think I do not really need them.

But jewelry is a category that none of us really need. It is from a practical point of view utterly useless. It's a symbol or token or a cultural standard (wedding ring). You have clearly thought about this and you have found a piece that might justify the expense. But you have doubts. I say don't. I am pretty sure that you will not regret your ring and you will enjoy looking at your hand and get a little pang of happiness very time you see your ring. I think @oceanz22 suggestions are great. You can be very proud of yourself achieving this. Life is for living and you need to enjoy it sometimes with something material and purely luxurious and not worry about your retirement fund, school loans or downpayment.

Another thing I also always try to make sure in my pieces is that I can pass them on (I have daughters), that they have some real value (gold content) and it is a brand that keeps its value (Cartier is, so keep the papers and box).

Now go get that ring and please share some photos with us.
Something I’ve done in the past when I was younger and in your position is to stop myself from buying other things and instead put that money towards the one more expensive item. So, stopping myself from getting $200 worth of clothing from H&M that I don’t need, and instead putting that towards the bigger item. I’ve found it prevented a lot of the guilt for me because it was my “fun money” that I was going to spend anyway.

Also if it makes you feel better, I would be more concerned if you didn’t feel a twinge of guilt when buying frivolous luxury items - I think most of us feel some degree of that, but if it’s something you’re going to wear every day for years to come, I think it’s a great purchase.
I started feeling guilty while reading this LOL I think if you have not been able to stop thinking about something since you were in your teens (since it’s been 6 years and your in your early 20s) you should get it. It doesn’t sound like you won’t stop thinking about it. You’ve saved up more than enough to cover 2x the cost (a rule I like but fail to live by haha).

Also, nothing about Cartier is basic darling! All depends on how you put pieces together. Make whatever decision will make you the happiest!
Maybe buy it at the end of the year? That’s what I plan on doing as a gift to myself for surviving 2020
Get the ring. Eat the cake.
I have been buying luxury for awhile and I still feel guilty afterwards. I think it’s because like you, I can be frugal. There is always a “better” use for the money spent on jewelry unless you already have more than you’ll ever need for the rest of your life and no kids to pass your wealth down to. For me, I'll think that I could have invested it, put it towards a down payment on another home, or be saving for college/lifetime expenses for a kid that I don't have yet. If you think about it too much, you'll never be able to enjoy yourself. As long as you don't have consumer debt, are hitting your financial goals, you should be just fine. Perhaps wait to make it a milestone purchase so the ring has some sentimental value to it.

Thank you all so much for sharing your thoughts, I enjoyed reading every single one of your posts! I think I am just so used to saving now my brain is automatically telling me 'no' haha :giggle: I think I have decided to purchase it for Christmas as a present to myself, which my goodness is coming up extremely fast! I will definitely post a picture! x

Do you know what this bag is called?

OMG.. that's it!! Thank you SO much for finding it! I'm not sure what it is about it but I just love it, hoping I can find a second hand one for a good price. Thank you!
No problem. If I stumble upon a fairly priced one, I'll post a link in here for you.
Also, if it's specifically the 3D bubble/ grommet/ stud portion that appeals most, MBMJ had a bunch of different bags that included those details. I think I recall a Sally crossbody bag and a mini Natasha with the rounded studs (though my memory is terrible, so don't hold me to the exact models)...so, if I were you, I'd run searches for all models including studs and grommets, and you may well find a variety to choose from.

Exchanged my defective retiro for the Neverfull mm in Galet

Hi Pink Tulips,
I’ve been using it almost daily and it’s holding up pretty well. No scratches or creases on it. The picture on the website is I would say pretty identical to what I have. You should definitely go for it. It’s such an elegant, beautiful color:smile:
Thank you for your quick reply! I plan to reach out to my CA and get the ball rolling as I want to carry it this summer/early fall.

Gucci - Rhyton problem

Hi Kabang, may I ask what’s peeling with your Rhytons, is it the actual leather or the print design on the shoes? I recently bought a pair, the distressed style one and I have to say that it’s one of the most comfortable pair of sneakers I’ve ever tried on. I just got it just a few days ago and after hearing about your sneakers, I’m having second thoughts with mine because I recently had the same issue with a pair of crocodile embossed leather sneakers from Giuseppe Zanotti when the leather surface of the shoe started peeling by just rubbing it.

Preloved Demellier. Was this a mistake?

I can not attest to purchasing a preloved DeMellier on ebay, however I noticed the same thing with Aspinal of London goods. Lots for sale with "monograms" that look like they may have been practice pieces. I have seen some for sale that look like someone drove over them with a truck too.
I dont know that they are a big enough company to warrant a knock off, however i DO know if you have the bag monogrammed you may not return it. I have an older style I purchased last year when I was visiting London that I got monogrammed. I never use the monogrammed strap (I like switching out straps to add personality). If it feels well made, good quality and sturdy consider it a win. That is an incredible price for their bags - even by the conversion rate!!
