Kelly 32 raincoat?

I recently purchased a pre-loved vintage Kelly 32 and brought it to Hermes for spa. I had specified with the SA I dropped off the bag with and the after care specialist that I had wanted a raincoat as well. I didn't mind paying for it, but the after care associate said on the phone that it didn't cost anything. Fast forward to July, I picked up my bag with the SA and I totally forgot to check on the raincoat. I emailed the SA to ask about getting the raincoat and she emailed back asking if I meant dustbag. And I'm starting to think the after care specialist also thought I meant dustbag.

So am I wrong to think that Kelly 32s have raincoats similar to the raincoat for a Fendi peekaboo? If raincoats do exist for Kellys, are "replacements" free or there is a cost?

Thank you all for your insight in advance!

How bad is my Chanel classic flap Hardware scratches

I just used my bag a few times and came to see the hardware has so many scratches already. I babied this bag so much too! The main scratch on the turnlock was probably caused by the strap falling off my shoulder and hitting it. Is this considered a lot of scratches for a rarely used bag? My first Chanel so I’m not sure how scratch prone the hardware is. How do you guys take care of your hardware?

Vivienne Diver Charm: Pending Validation for Two Weeks and Counting

Hi Folks: I ordered the Vivienne Diver charm from the LV Canada website but it has remained in the "pending validation" status for two weeks now. My previous research showed me the item was not available in North American store locations, but the item seemed to be stocked mostly in Asia, selected European locations, and the Middle East.

Has anyone had a similar long wait for charms or limited edition items to progress to being shipped when bought online?

I do plan to call next week and ask, but am not too confident these client advisors are that useful considering the horrifying web purchase experience I had in late 2020 when I eventually had to request a credit card chargeback.

Thanks~

Mini diana- bamboo handle with cracks

I bought this bag last weekend. I love it but these micro cracks are bugging me. I am good if they never get worse but I am not sure if they will. I asked the SA when I bought the bag because it was like that at the store and his response was “this one is the best looking one I have”.

Anyone have similar handle situation over a long period of time without any issue?

Cartier love sm stack or Cartier trinity?

Hello everyone!
I’m in the blessed situation of being 8 months pregnant and my husband wants to treat me to a special push present. It is our last child and the past couple of years have been rough, so he is being extra thoughtful

I own a Cartier love sm in yellow gold. I love the size and the fact that it fits in with my casual lifestyle and petite frame (I’m not quite 5’ tall and when not pregnant I’m pretty skinny).
He generously has asked me to give him my preference for a gift.

The options I have come up with are
1) add a classic love. On me it seems a little overwhelming, but I recognize it’s a classic look
2) add another sm love in rose gold and further down the line (maybe an anniversary) add the white to complete the stack
3) curveball option: the Trinity rolling bracelet. This is the option my husband loved the most when trying things on in the boutique. It’s hard to find pictures of this option, so if you own the bracelet please share!! Would love some references!

Attached are some pictures of the options.

Thoughts?

How will this leather hold up over time?

Editing to add what I mean about the leather. The WOC which is the rougher matter kind, vs the classic flap that has a softer shinier look. The WOC I feel is so carefree and will not show any creases. Will the soft leather hold up similarly?

Hi Everyone,

After a month and a half of searching, I finally found a caviar classic bag without any major problems. It's not perfect, I noticed the quilting is flatter in the top portion of the bag but the quilting blends well and overall the bag has zero problems, so I can live with the flatter quilts. I checked for everything as best as possible at the boutique, but with their lighting it's so hard to catch everything. So when I opened it at home I noticed the leather is the shiny kind and the creasing is more obvious than the matter version of the caviar, if that makes any sense. The leather is beautiful, but I just want to get a sense of how it will hold up? Will it show a lot of distress quickly? I want to decide if I can live with that. I don't want a bag that will look old and beat up just a few years. It's such an expensive bag so I don't want to make a stupid decision. If you have this kind of leather, would you mind sharing your experience? I'll attach some pictures. Thank you so much! I know it's just a bag and I should start to enjoy it. But my practical self wants to make sure I am not making any mistakes! Thank you!

Can the JUC SM be a forever piece?

Is the JUC SM a forever piece?

Hello ladies! What are your opinions on the SM JUC? It seems that they inevitably break or bend.. And what is everyone’s opinion on the JUC style? Is it timeless as a love bracelet or is this a trend that soon everyone will be over? Everyone has a juc and love bracelet and ring set does it seem too repetitive?

Small Quilted Darley

Oh my word, it's been literally years since I've been part of these forums. So much so, my profile picture looks like a daughter version of me, complete with long hair....

Anyway...I'm in the market for another bag. Don't need it, just want it. It stems from my desire to own a Chanel bag, but spending close to £8,000 for a handbag seems obsurd. It's not about affordability , more about the justification. So...enter Mulberry Darley in black quilted calf..what's the verdict on this from die hard Mulberry fans? I really love it and would like a reason not to buy it. Or, reasons I should is my preference.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has an opinion.

Storage service options?

Hey Everyone,

Starting in November, I will be giving up my apartment and most of my things to try a semi nomadic life. I estimate I’ll be gone for the better part of a year (coming home for a few family celebrations). Where should I store my small, but dear to me, bag collection? There’s really no one in my life that I trust would keep my items safe AND that I would not be imposing upon. Could I store these in a climate controlled public storage facility? There’s 13 bags. I estimated their value based on resale value from fashionphile and thereareal (based upon the same condition rating) minus their commission. That’s about a 23K asset I‘d like to keep secure and in good shape. To be honest, there’s only a couple of these that I could see retain their value over the years and most will depreciate, but I love them. They’re not Birkins or anything like that. But I worked hard and saved up for them.

Does any company specifically store items like these? For example, some Neiman Marcus locations store/preserve their customers’ fur collections for a fee.

Gave up on my wish list bag in store - here are the 2 vintage bags I bought in stead

(This is the first time I start a thread - so bear with me)

I have bought my luxury hand bags pre-loved for years. It makes sense for me in so many ways, and with Hermès even more as I like many vintage models not sold in the store any more. Not to mention that so few bags actually seem to be for sale at the store, anyway….

And yet, some bags cannot be found pre-loved. Or only a crazy prices (for H that is saying something) - and that is not the point of buying pre-loved, right? I am not talking about BKC, the bag I set my heart on is the Della Cavelleria bag. Excellent reviews here on TPF, good size, practical - just a really great bag, it seems.

I even got to try it on in an airport store (“oh no, it is not for sale - how would people try it on if we sold all the bags?” - yeah, puzzling, isn’t it?). But I liked it.

I started saving. After a while I also started asking in H stores in different European countries. I stayed in Brussels 3 months this spring for work (loved it), and asked many times in the store there. Always sold out.

I really wanted a bag in white or burgundy that I could wear crossbody. The Della Cavelleria would work well, and I had saved enough money to buy it. What a great thing to remember my stay in Brussels by!

I thought about going to Paris (close to Brussels compared to what I am used to in my home country), but read about the appointment system. All that and maybe not even getting the bag - plus spending time in lovely Paris fretting. No thank you.

So I gave up. Or I decided the DC could wait. If the boutiques did not want to sell me any bags, others would. This is when I bought not one, but TWO lovely bags, to be worn crossbody (once I get a strap that is, but I have a non-H strap on order)! Here they are, white and burgundy, just like I wanted:

White epsom Plume 20 and burgundy (don’t knowH color or leather) Berlingot GM

What do you think? Do you get fed up with the sparse choice in the H boutiques and run to vintage bag sellers? Do you find you get more for your money that way?

Monica Vinader thread

I thought we should have a Monica Vinader thread!
This is my third piece, just got it today from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
For reference my wrist is 6.5” and I ordered the large.
When I unlocked it to put on my wrist I noticed it was a bit flimsy, but once I locked it on it has held its shape.
I plan on getting the other thicknesses, this was the only one I could afford at the time in diamonds.
Not sure how sparkly the diamonds are, we will see when the sun is up tomorrow :)
I also want some pieces in rose gold and gold vermeil, but I am going to think it over. They do have a free replating service for the first 5 years of ownership.
