Hi all, took the shoes I wore for our wedding out of their dust bag today and noticed that they were looking a little grubby, I normally just wipe them down with a cloth and water but I stupidly applied some vanish to the fabric around the toe box. Anyone think this will dry clear as it’s already drying and I didn’t think vanish marked You can see the shoe that has vanish Vs the shoe that hasn’t. Any tips if not? Thanks so much!

Would you wear it? I just had an idea. So many of us have Apple watches that somehow seem awkward next to some Loves and Jucs. Wouldn’t it be awesome if Cartier came out with a line of straps that would pull the look off in a real classy way. I would totally rock it! Considering Hermes did it maybe we can hope they will do one too!

I am looking to purchase the Pochette Metis. I would be using it as my everyday bag. I am confused between the Classic Monogram and Empreinte. I would’ve just gotten the Monogram but I am reading a lot of negative reviews on the canvas cracking and glazing issues.
Also, within the Empreinte leather, I love the Navy/Red combination but I feel it may not go with all outfits on a day to day basis. The Black is nice and would be super versatile as an everyday bag, but I feel its a little boring.

Needed Advice -
1) Anyone who has bought the Metis in Monogram last year or so, have you had any issues or has LV really fixed the glazing and cracking off late as I was told ?
2) Do you think the Navy/ Red is a bag that would match and go with everyday casual outfits ( in terms if versatility and matching outfits )
3) Should I just play it safe and get the Black Empreinte?
Any other recommendations?

Hoping some knowledgeable forum members can provide some information on the discontinued Ribera bag. My friend has recently found one in fantastic condition in her mum’s wardrobe and is wanting to know if anyone can remember what they retailed for back in 2007 and approximately how much she could ask for it today.

I have an event that requires an evening bag and this one was in a Harper's Bazaar list. It doesn't scream "evening bag" to me, but it still looks fun. I really love the shape! Has anyone heard of Noiranca? If so, how's the quality? The material is "vegan leather" which to me means PVC or other low quality materials but the website is trying to say that their material is different.

As some of you may know I live in Tuscany, where we have lots of leather craftsmen and shops where they sell handmade bags.
Some of these bags are basically Birkin replicas, even if there's no "Hermes" tag, and I was wondering why they are not (or if they should be) considered fake Birkins.
A Birkin is not a bag that Hermes sells, but only a custom item that only specific clients may get, so maybe that's the reason why leather craftsmen can sell these bags?
In Italy we have strict rules about counterfeits, both national and international. For instance, Patrizia Gucci (not Patrizia Reggiani) years ago launched her collection of bags and she couldn't use her surname for obvious reasons.

I'd like to know how you feel about this subject. I was curious because I have recently found one of these fake birkins (in orange) ina flea market for 15€ and I also know of shops in Forence where they sell leather goods handmade, and where they offer, on their catalogue, bags that look exactly like a Kelly or a Birkin, for around 200-300€ of the colour you want in 20-30 days.

We all agree that they're not Birkins, there's not an Hermes brand on them... but shouldn't them be banned? I think if you try to sell one of those online, not using the Hermes name, they (I'm talking about websites that sell vintage non-luxury bags) won't allow you to do that...

I have literally just seen the UK prices and have been priced out. I just can’t justify the prices of anything they have anymore. I love their stuff but I’m out! Also last time I bought something, the whole queue was full of people wanting to take something in for repair and that put me off.

Hi TPF! Looking for some advice or words of comfort on my Goyard Artois MM.

I was super excited to have purchased my exact wishlist Goyard in Paris this past August. Now only a couple of months later, I'm noticing some cracking on the glazing on all 4 spots where the straps attach. I've used the bag maybe a dozen to twenty times and only ever carrying "medium" weight to go to the office. Just a Macbook air and few pouches for makeup / electronics.

It sounds like this was a common issue a couple of years ago on the St Louis. Is my bag showing early signs of the same issue? Any advice on how to prevent it from getting worse? I've started to make sure the straps stand upright when stored and conditioned the leather a tiny bit.

I live in Canada so getting to a Goyard boutique would be difficult. Hoping prevention is the best bet.

Hi. This will be my first Chanel bag purchase. Yay. Question about the tweeds available for the Chanel 19. I see the three colors on the website (blue, green & red prints). Does this mean these are the only colors of the tweed currently available in the 19? I really want a small 19 in a black or grey tweed.

Last night we went to see an excellent production of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oak Brook, IL, just west of Chicago:

We haven't been to a play since pre-pandemic and it was great to go out again and enjoy a performance and we had so much fun! The characters were dressed in terrific vintage costumes but I quickly spotted the green Coach Madison bag being worn by the actress playing Mary Debenham. She was the tormented young governess to the murdered child. Her purse was a little modern for her costume because the play is set in 1934 but it exactly matched her green suit and looked perfect with her ensemble.

The bag looked like a Gracie but a little bigger, but smaller than a Copley. There was no hangtag and she was carrying it top handle without a long strap, but I was thinking that it might be a Biltmore 4417, see the catalog picture below next to a Gracie. I don't have a Biltmore but I thought that it looked a similar size to my Grammercy Top Handle Satchel 7002 - but it was definitely a Madison turnlock bag.

Unfortunately the production ends on October 23 but if anyone in the area gets a chance to see it (@Hyacinth?) please let me know if you agree with my identification - besides having a great evening out!

My 20+ year old hair dryer is breaking down. On some days, it won’t turn on. I do not mind spending on an expensive hair dryer as long as it does the job. I have fine, sparse, straight, below shoulder-length hair and I like to add more volume to it without spending a lot of time blow drying. Also looking for something that doesn’t damage hair, produces silky, shiny bouncy hair. My hairstyle is usually straight with slight curls at the ends. Please advise which hair dryer is best for me- supersonic or airwrap? are those who have tried shark flexstyle?

I’ve been bitten badly by the Bottega bug recently - it started when I began looking for some logo free crossbody bags to wear to school drop-offs and pick-ups. I bought a beautiful Mini Loop in Wisteria and then decided I’d love to get another Bottega in a more neutral colour and I’ve fallen in love with their new Travertine shade. I’ve decided I NEED a bag in that colour.
I originally set out to get a Cassette Camera, but when I tried on the Padded Cassette in Travertine it took my breath away!!
I’ve been aware of the Padded Cassette hype over the last couple of years and while I quite liked it on others, never really pictured it on myself, but that changed once I saw it in person. I have not been able to stop thinking about this bag for the last 72 hours. I’m going to sleep thinking about it and waking up thinking about it, it’s ridiculous!
My issue is the price (very frustrating that this bag has only just caught my eye now after the massive price increase earlier in the year!!) I’m from Australia and it’s over $5,540 here. The only other bag in my collection I’ve ever spent close to that much on is my Chanel Reissue 226. I would however be able to purchase it via the Vitkac website (which I’ve used before and had a great experience) for $500 less, so for just over $5000 .
My question is (to people who are more familiar with shopping for Bottega then me) is this about as good a deal as I am going to get? Is there likely to be ANOTHER price rise soon in which case I’ll be sorely disappointed that I’ve missed out now? Or is there likely to be an opportunity for me to get this bag at a greater discount down the track, via Boxing Day sales etc?

I just got a text from my SA this morning saying that the 3 flower Frivole earrings I ordered came in!! They will be arriving in a couple of days and I’m so excited because I’ve been wanting them for a long time!!

I feel like you don’t see them nearly as often as the single flower Frivoles so while I’m waiting for mine to get here I would love to hear from others who have and love them!! How do you typically style them? What type of occasions do you like to wear them for? Any tips for wearing/caring for them? I feel like they will be glued to my ears for the foreseeable future because I love them so much but would love to get a sense of how others are wearing them as well!!

I am helping my sister buy diamond cluster earrings. The design is generally a center round diamond and six similarly sized round diamonds around the center. I noticed that some clusters have central prong set diamonds while others have the center diamond without prongs and tucked under the outer ring of diamonds. I suppose the latter gives a more continuous look to the earring, but I think the use of prongs on all stones keeps them secure, shows them all off and keeps them level with each other. Anyone with detailed knowledge of cluster mountings have an opinion on this?
