I am curious as to which size Loewe Puzzle bag would be recommended for overseas travel- small or mini. I'd be planning on putting the bag inside a large tote for the plane ride and then using it for daytime touring and walking. I saw the Puzzle mentioned and was looking at the small size to fit a mini water bottle and umbrella and there, but I'm not sure if it would be too bulky for walking around all day cross body. I am 5' 5".

I like the Puzzle because it seems lightweight and under the radar. I could use it for walking around all day, then take the shoulder strap off and take it to dinner with the top handle.

Also any thoughts on black versus tan?

Very open to other travel bag recommendations, that I can also use as an everyday bag at home.

Joseph Lau is auctioning off some of his collection?

Does anyone know more about the reasons behind Joseph Lau's auctioning off a few items in his collection (or rather, his girlfriends' collections)? Portion of it supposedly is going to charity but still....

Which One Is a Better Choice?

I have been debating between Medium Boy in caramel caviar (the chain on CCs is everything) and a Mini Top Handle in dark beige lambskin. The Boy is readily available, the Mini was super hard to get (at least where I am). The Boy is sturdy and super elegant, the Mini is far more delicate but classic. The Mini also wrinkles very easily when open (which, I know, is normal but it show how delicate it is.) I was about to purchase the Boy while inquiring about this Mini. The sweet SA who was helping me said they barely come around. So I said to myself that I would wait a couple more weeks and if I have no luck with Mini, I will get the Boy. An hour later, SA called me that they got the Mini in and if I am interested! I almost died. Of course, I got it! It is very pretty and much cheaper than the Boy (about $2,000) but a bit underwhelming. It is also smaller than the Boy but it has a handle, which I love. So there goes my dilemma. Which one is a better choice?

Help with selling (GV3) decision?

Hi friends, I bought a beautiful black GV3 on a trip just pre-pandemic, and for the last 3 years I have barely used it. (just twice!). I also since made changes to my wallet size and am carrying even smaller purses, which I am loving. I do love the GV3 aesthetic and the great craftsmanship. But the resale value is really low for Givenchy. I am looking for a conversation on holding on to this or underselling it... I don't want to regret selling and I am not going to spend $$$$ to buy this type of bag later!! (My style is to buy bags of timeless design, not a fan of yearly fashion fads)

Marc Jacobs price increase?

Hey everyone,

I was just scrolling through the Marc Jacobs website and saw that the mini leather totes are going for £405! For those who don't know, it was previously £385 in the UK. Has any other country seen a recent increase? I swear the totes went up not too long ago - I thought it'd be a while longer before another change.

Extra thoughts: Went luxury shopping for the first time today (just to browse) and it was so much fun! Its a bit deflating to get home and be reminded that the prices today are the cheapest they'll ever be in-store and everything will only get further and further out of my financial reach

Dyeing my Shearling / Sheepskin Coat

My coat (below) has become a little bit unevenly faded across the shoulders.

I love the colour but I'm not sure I want to wear it as is. I'm wondering if I can dye the outside.

1. Can anyone suggest a leather dye. It must be available to/in the UK.

I have used TRG on a pair of white platforms I dyed beige with worked quite well. I'm open to other brands.

2. Which colour would you dye it (has to be darker). I was thinking black, dark grey or dark green, perhaps navy, obviously dark teal or something close would be ideal?

Louis Vuitton Pegase 55 doesn't really fit anything

Hello all!

I was wondering if anyone else has the same issues I had with owning the Pegase. So my first piece of LV luggage was a vintage Alzer 60, I loved looking at it but as far as using it to travel it became very cumbersome. In that time period, I also purchased a Keepall 55 for weekend trips. I decided to sell my Alzer for a profit, get a pre-loved Pegase 55 and have money left over.
I soon realized during my first trip with the Pegase 55, it really doesn't fit as much as people on Youtube or the forums would express. If I were packing for a weekend I could barely get a pair of boots/shoes, 3 outfits, and my toiletry bag let alone use this for a week's trip I would then have to check another bag which I hate doing. I decided to give it one last chance since I was going to DC for the weekend just for 2 nights and 3 days. I was able to pack a pair of boots, 2 pairs of jeans, 3 shirts, a couple of tank tops, a toiletry bag, and my leather coat on top and I was barely able to zip it up. At the same time, I could fit all those things with room to spare in my Keepall 55..:thinking:After that moment I realized I needed to sell the Pegase and I was looking around and found the Rimowa cabin precisely what I was looking for. I was able to find a pre-loved one, and after receiving it I decided to try packing the Rimowa with the same items I did in the Pegase. WOW! The Rimowa was able to hold everything plus I would have been able to fill a ton more stuff.

My question to you has anyone had these issues with the Pegase? Don't get me wrong it was a beautiful piece of luggage but from a practical point of view how did you make it work or did you end up selling it as well?

If you found out your favorite bag was fake, would you still love it and wear it?

Pick your favorite bag, one you’ve had for months or even years and have carried who knows how many times. Tomorrow you find out it’s fake. Nothing has objectively changed - the bag looks the same, feels the same, has the same quality of materials and construction. But you now know it’s a counterfeit.

Would you still wear it? Would it still be your favorite? If not, what would you do with it?

I’ll start - for my favorite bag it wouldn’t change anything, I’d still love it! But the bag isn’t recognizably brand name - it’s a one off seasonal style from over a decade ago, made by a brand that is known for footwear and not bags, it wasn’t very expensive, and I didn’t pay full retail anyway. I have a couple other bags I’d probably have to get rid of though, because it would make me mad to look at them and know I spent that much money on a fake. Which tells me that lately maybe I’ve been paying more for bags than I think they’re actually worth and I should stop doing that.

Vintage flaps - what is the lifespan?

I'm interested in getting a classic flap one day in my life and owning it for my entire life. Based on this forum, everyone always recommends vintage flaps! However I'm curious to get ppl's thoughts!

This question more pertains to bags pre 2000, circa 80's and 90's. How long realistically will a leather last for before it degrades just naturally overtime? Including the stitching on the bag and the stamping.
Say you find a pristine condition or excellent vintage bag, will it last for a while without repairs or is that inevitable? For example I can see a 80's or 90's bag look great now but what about another 30 years (so 60 years in total)? Will it last or is it better to buy a new classic flap or 2010's bag and wear it and own for 30 years?

Large D'Amour Necklace vs VCA Sweet Alhambra?

Hi Everyone!

I'd like to treat myself to a dainty, classic everyday necklace. I am really stuck on which direction to go in. I thought I wanted a diamond solitaire or bezel set necklace, and first looked at department stores, Costco, and local jewelers. While the prices were much more reasonable, I was not impressed with the chains at many of these places. I know there is some logic to letting the diamond shine with a more matte chain, but I really love a shiny, sparkly, substantial chain.

So that led me to the Cartier D'Amour necklace in large. However, I would wear this on its own and while I am after something dainty, I just don't know if it has enough presence. So then I also considered the VCA Sweet Alhambra in mother of pearl. Interestingly, while people complain this is too tiny, the size of the motif at 9.5mm is still larger than the size of the Cartier pendant at about 5.5mm. The VCA is gorgeous, but I worry that a diamond still stand the test of time better for me.

I've posted some pictures down below. I apologize for the vastly different lighting and necklines in both pictures. Unfortunately, when I tried on the Cartier I was wearing a high crewneck sweater. For some reason, I am more drawn to the Cartier--but I'm not sure if it's too small. Or maybe a bezel setting isn't the right choice and I should go for something like a the 1895 necklace. But I do like the added design element of a bezel--adds more interest in my opinion.

Does anyone have any insight on which direction I should go in? I really value all of your great insight!VCA.jpgCartier D'Amour.jpg
