Does this raise red flags?

I am in the US and on a hunt for the perfect Hermes bag, I found one on a reputable site (at least posts here say it is reputable) but based in Australia.

I have hesitated to make a large purchase overseas due to concerns with shipping and customs/duty fees.

I reached out to this company and they offered to declare a lower value to avoid customs fees and advised they will only take wire transfer.

This is a well established company so these two details caught me off guard. Thoughts? Am I being paranoid?

If I buy a $15k bag and they declare a low value to avoid fees and it is lost, I think I am done for, right? Also, that just doesn’t feel right/ethical. Thoughts?

Prada Re-Edition 2000/2005 Boxes?

Can anyone confirm whether these bags come with a box or not? I've seen some photos on resale sites here in Japan that show these bags (mostly the 2005, but have seen some 2000s) with a navy blue Prada box. I've also seen the same box on some unboxing videos — but I also know Prada doesn't give out boxes, and many unboxing videos show these bags packed in the white Prada dustbag inside of the white Prada bag.

Wondering if the boxes were a limited thing, limited to online, or are indicative of fakes. (I prefer having a box for storage.)

Thanks!

will the LV Iena tote soften over time?

I bought the LV Iena tote (now discontinued, a zippered tote, slightly smaller than Neverfull) in Damier Azur back in 2020. I have only worn it a few times, and find that for some reason the bag feels kind of poufy and big - it doesn't mold to the body the way the Neverfull does. Is this just a function of the canvas, which should soften up over time with more use? Can't decide what to do with this bag - commit to more use, or let go?!

CHANEL Chanel Here Mark No.5, what is it?

Chanel Here No. 5 seems to be the name. There are a couple on Poshmark right now and the ole' Google algorhythm thought I might be interested. I am, it's super cute! But even more, I am curious.

What is this bag? Why is it so silvery inside? Pardon what is possibly a ridiculous question, but is this an insulated bag? Something for a picnic?

Or, is it just super silver and very cool?

What's going on? Can someone shed some light? (Not too much light, you might accidentally fry an ant!)

What is your favorite type of accessory?

Hi All! Just wondering what everyone's favorite category of accessory? Bags, shoes, jewelry (if so, which specifically, earrings/bracelets/rings) and so on.

My favorite accessories are eyeglasses. Since my vision has to be corrected, I either have to wear glasses or contacts but I strongly prefer glasses as I never could get used to putting in contacts. Because glasses are literally on your face and circle your eyes, they are what people see first when they look at your face. They have to look through your frames to see your eyes as they talk with you. So, I consider glasses to be the most important accessory that I wear.

Because of their visibility (no pun intended haha), there is nothing more important to keep current. Of course they have to be flattering to your face, but they need to stay current and appropriate for where you work and live. Nothing dates and ages a person faster or more definitively than outmoded eyewear.

They are a wonderful way to express your personality too. I personally like frames that have a little edge to them, either in the overall shape, or the color/pattern (or both) - something fun. But one can also convey professionalism, elegance, or just a fun casual vibe with frames.

Unfortunately, I feel that what most people's glasses say about them is that they just want something that won't stand out. The message they're sending is that they don't want to be noticed, and of course, most of us oblige them by not, in fact, noticing them.

Shoes are a strong second place. Not necessarily heels, just shoes in general. Again, so much opportunity for expression.

What is your favorite accessory type and why? :)

The unthinkable happened

Sigh. So I was wearing my vintage Alhambra earrings last night and didn’t notice that one fell off. I was unable to recover it and now I am sad and frustrated that it happened. I haven’t gone to the boutique to ask what they can do with my single earring. So my question to you guys is…what would you guys do in this situation with one earring left? Like should I make it in to a pendant necklace? Buy another pair of earrings? Scour the internet for the one single earring on the left ear?

I don’t know if I will really want another pair of VA earrings because of how it fell off. I am a little weary because it’s not very secure on my ears. But I am open to any suggestions. Thank you!

New Antique Nappa leather bags - do you like them?

What do you guys think about this bowling bag in 'Antique' Nappa leather? And its sister with the front zipped pocket? I'm glad to see a Prada bag made of the lovely Nappa leather, although I don't know how it compares to the old Nappa. But the prices! :girlshocked: $4,500 and $4,800 currently for the small bowling bag and the one with the pocket respectively. Especially considering that a very similar small bowling bag made of Saffiano leather is 'only' $2,950. For some reason, the Medium Nappa bag is the same price as the Small one, $4,500. I love the Slate Gray and Sage Green colors.

Something curious about the City Bag

I have noticed something odd about a City Bag I have. I have two, one with the NYC creed which I am guessing places its manufacture right around 1987, and a second with the made in the USA pre-94 creed and the xxxx-xxx SN pattern, which I am guessing means it was made around 1991. They are virtually identical except for the strap length. The later bag has a 44" strap, which is consistent with the catalog description from 1989 onward. However, the 1987 catalog does not specify a strap length and the strap on my circa '87 bag is about 42" - definitely shorter than the later bag. Has anyone else ever noticed this on the first-year City Bags? I was unable to find any discussion of this, I apologize if it has been discussed elsewhere. Thanks.

Fendi scarf questions

Hi! I have a question about Fendi scarves. I have 2 that were gifts but which I suspect are fake but I don't really know. One has no tags at all and the other has a tag that says, "100% Pashmina." The person who gave them to me was into branded items and gave me a bunch of stuff she didn't wear anymore. I've never been into logo items so I never wore them either. I don't want to pass them on to anyone else or sell them if they are fake. I've looked online for guidelines and couldn't really find anything that applies. Most articles discuss newer articles and bags.

Here is a picture of each of the scarves. The fuzzy one is actually very comfortable, so even if it is a fake Fendi (which I suspect), it is still a real scarf/shawl so I'll wear it around the house when I get chilly. :D

Do you feel doing skin tightening has slowed down/prevented sagging of your face or has not made any difference?

I’m interested in having deep penetrating energy devices (ultherapy, thermage, etc.). I don’t need my face to look tight now (there’s a bit of sagging but I don’t mind it much), I want to do it mostly for preventing future sagging. But it's very expensive (in the US) and I'm not 100% sure about its anti-aging benefits.

Unlike Botox, I’m not aware of any scientific studies that have showed these skin tightening devices slow down aging. So I want to hear anecdotal evidence. Does anyone here, either in their own experience or someone they know, feel they’ve slowed down sagging because of their regular use of Ultherapy. Thermage, etc.? Or do you feel it's made no change to your aging process?

Question for those who have Speedy B 25 & Alma BB in same print

Ok I know I’ve been posting a lot of questions so thank you in advance for your time and patience. I have severe trouble making decisions - lol! I was a bit impulsive bc I found 2 like-new bags for pretty good prices in pre-loved market and took the plunge. They have all original packaging and everything. I’m awaiting them to go through authentication and be shipped to me (eBay.). I love the Damier Ebene canvas - it’s what draws me to LV so I ordered both of these bags in that print. I’d eventually love a Neverfull in classic Monogram since it’s kinda less vachetta to worry about. Anyways - did I waste my money on a repetitive purchase? Do they overlap too much in their function within your wardrobe? Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!

Hyer Goods

Hi all - I came across Hyer Goods a short while ago and have since ordered (and am enjoying) four of their bags. They have a great story -- fashion industry professional who noticed how much leather was going to waste each season as leftovers, or was never even used at all. She is now building a business on crafting solid bags from this unused material. I purchased two of the large and two of the medium shoulder bags. The quality is exceptional for the price point (I've owned 4-figure bags that I would put up against these) and the branding ranges from minimal to non-existent, which I also like. https://hyergoods.com/
