Loulou medium too big on me?

Hi everyone! I decided to order the older Loulou from Neiman Marcus. I ordered the small but they sent me the medium. I’m torn because I actually love the space of the medium but I wonder if it’s too big, which is why I ordered the small. I wanted a day to night bag, but the medium seems too big for a night bag but that’s not a deal breaker because I have several bags I can use at night already.

Should I keep the medium, especially since I paid the price of a small one? Or is the medium too big on my frame and should I get the small? I appreciate any input!

Lynn Earrings and Paloma X Earrings: Too Similar?

I have the mini Paloma graffiti X earrings in rose gold. I have my eye on the Schlumberger Lynn earrings but am wondering if they might be too similar (gold and X motif). Would I perhaps be better served getting the Victoria mini earrings in platinum as something completely different? The only white metal earrings I have are diamond studs and hoops. Thanks so much for your thoughts!

(The longer story is that I recently sold a bunch of luxury and unbranded jewelry because I had too many pieces that served the same purpose. I’m trying to be more intentional in my buying!)

Small collection!

2019 was the first year I could afford something nice, and I told myself I wanted to build a small collection that’s easy to pair with outfits.

Each year, I saved up some fun money to add 1-2 nice bags to my collection. I’m so happy about the small collection I’ve been able to build.

Given the state of uncertainty where I live and in my industry, expensive handbags are no longer in the budget, but for now I will just enjoy my small collection :)IMG_7183.webp

Fashion Genius or Provocative Overkill? Let’s Discuss!

Hey everyone! I’ve been obsessing over Balenciaga lately, but I’m torn. Is this brand a trailblazer redefining luxury fashion, or are they pushing shock value too far? Let’s break it down.

A Legacy of Innovation
First, respect where it’s due. Founded in 1917 by Cristóbal Balenciaga, the brand has always been synonymous with architectural silhouettes and avant-garde craftsmanship. Think of those iconic 1960s cocoon coats or pillbox hats—Jackie Kennedy wore one to JFK’s inauguration! The house practically invented modern elegance.

Enter Demna: Chaos as Art
Fast-forward to 2015, when Demna Gvasalia (of Vetements fame) took the reins. Suddenly, Balenciaga became the poster child for *ugly chic* and meme-worthy absurdity. Remember the $2,000 “IKEA bag” tote? Or the destroyed “Paris Sneakers” that looked like they’d survived a zombie apocalypse? Demna’s genius lies in flipping mundane objects into status symbols, blending high fashion with streetwear irreverence. Love it or hate it, you can’t look away.

Controversy Magnet
But let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Balenciaga’s campaigns keep sparking outrage. The 2022 holiday ad featuring kids holding teddy bears in BDSM gear? Or the Supreme Court documents about child exploitation law *accidentally* displayed in a background shot? Many called it tone-deaf, leading to lawsuits and #CancelBalenciaga trends. Was this intentional controversy for headlines, or just reckless oversight?

Collaborations & Cultural Clout
On the flip side, their collabs are 🔥. The *Fortnite* partnership brought digital couture to gamers, while the *Simpsons* collab was pure pop culture gold. Even Kim Kardashian’s head-to-toe Balenciaga looks at the Met Gala keep the brand in the spotlight. And let’s not forget the cult-favorite Triple S sneakers and Hourglass bags—every influencer’s flex.

Sustainability? Meh.
Here’s my gripe: For a brand so forward-thinking, their sustainability efforts feel lukewarm. While other houses push circular fashion, Balenciaga’s focus remains on hype and scarcity. Those $1,800 distressed jeans might be “upcycled,” but critics argue it’s just an excuse to charge more for destroyed clothes.

The Big Question
So, is Balenciaga shaping the future of fashion, or are they trolling us all? Demna claims his work reflects the “absurdity of modernity,” but does that justify the chaos? And can we separate the art from the ethical dilemmas?

Your Take?
- Are the controversies dealbreakers, or just noise?
- Would you wear Balenciaga’s bold designs, or is it too much?
- Is the price tag justified, or are we paying for hype?

Let’s debate! 🖤✨

---
*P.S. If you haven’t seen their 2023 runway show with models stomping through a mud-filled dystopia, go Google it. Pure Demna chaos.*

My new hair tie bracelet …

I know most people don’t like my ugly hair tie, but some do need it… you know what I am talking about if you really need this… i really like these new ties, neutral color mostly looks good in person with the bracelets. I change color often to match outlets palettes . It serves both as buffer and cover up (wide enough to cover all the bracelets if needed to in some location or occasion). Sharing this just in case you need this.

WOC logo falling off?

I’m probably asking a question I already know the answer to.. I have a 2021 WOC, and today when I wanted to leave the house I noticed the logo was turned a bit. When I looked closer I noticed the bottom half of the WOC is a bit loose. It is still attached, and I can’t really see how it’s supposed to be attached to the bag, and I don’t really know if the logo is supposed to be a bit loose or if it is falling off the bag?? To WOC owners: how tightly attached is your Chanel logo?

I’m planning to make an appointment at the store but I don’t want to embarrass myself 🤣

Where to get a blue / purple / pink diamond ring

Hello psf!

My husband and I lucked out with the tariffs in a way because retail natural diamond prices went back up to par to what we paid in 2023. I traded in my natural stone and got 50% of the value back in cash given that I swapped the stone with a lab diamond. After number crunching, it's equivalent to a trade in policy of buying a stone 2x the price of my first stone, but now I have the cash in the meantime for investments etc. I plan on completing my "upgrade" in several years. What are some reputable and cost effective places to buy a natural blue, purple, or pink diamond solitaire ring? I see Leibish and Astteria, but am wondering if I should stick to my local wholesaler to source a natural blue, purple, or pink diamond. Fancy color diamond prices will probably only decrease a bit once the tariffs stop and maybe when lab color diamonds are more popular and cost effective-- or will they? My budget is ~$15k for a stone.

Jonathan Anderson confirmed as sole Dior's Creative Director

Jonathan Anderson confirmed to lead Dior Men's:

From BoF: https://www.businessoffashion.com/a...nkedin&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=luxury

PARIS — Jonathan Anderson will create the June collection for Dior Men’s Fashion, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault said on Thursday at the group’s annual meeting with shareholders.

Anderson, 40, whose departure from LVMH’s smaller label Loewe was announced on March 17, is one of a new generation of high-profile designers taking over some of the world’s biggest fashion labels amid a sweeping industry overhaul.

The sector is grappling with some of its slowest growth in years, weighed down by China’s property crisis while rising prices have deterred shoppers from splashing out on new fashion.

Anderson is credited with boosting the profile of Loewe during his tenure at the Spanish label, where he won over fashion critics with original and quirky designs.

Brand hits from Anderson include 800-euro barrel-legged jeans and the compact, over-the-shoulder Puzzle bag, which sells for around 3,000 euros.

The Irish native has won a host of awards, including British designer of the year in 2023 and 2024 for his work at Loewe as well as his namesake brand JW Anderson.

He has built a loyal fan base, drawing an eclectic mix of international artists into the annual Loewe craft prize competition, and famously restyled James Bond actor Daniel Craig in wholesome sweaters and baggy trousers for a buzzy Loewe campaign.

LVMH on March 24 named Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez to replace Anderson at Loewe.

She’s here….My mini Wicker Capucine Reveal/thoughts

Hey beautiful people!
I preordered this beauty and just received it today..so excited because I’ve always loved the design! I had previously tried the BB in the wicker style, but it felt bulky on my frame. So when I heard whispers about a Mini version, I knew I had to jump on it:biggrin:.
First impressions..it’s stunning:loveeyes:! Surprisingly functional too..I can fit a small wallet, lipstick, and even my Pro Max vertically:lol:. And hey, practicality is overrated when the bag is that stunning. You just need a lipstick, a cardholder, and your air of mystery:graucho:.
This one doesn’t have the two separate compartments like the leather Mini, which actually makes the interior more usable.
Crossbody wear looks sleek and not bulky at all. Shoulder carry doesn’t stick out, and handheld is super easy to grab and go. So far, it’s looking very promising!
Now off to play dress up and see if it’s a keeper! just need some warm weather in New York !
Thanks

Which Taurillon Clemence Picotin?

Hello! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here, but I’d love some guidance on which preloved Picotin you would recommend. I have other Hermes accessories (shoes and belts), but this would be my first bag. I fell in love with this style and haven’t had any luck finding a new one in boutique or online.

Both of these bags are in excellent condition. The exterior leather, bottom and interior of both bags look great.

The bag on the left is from 2020, was $1k more in price (above retail), and comes with the original box, dust bag, key and ribbon. I believe it has been used less than the second bag (the leather is a bit stiffer). The stitching on the handles is also slightly thinner.

The one on the right is from 2023, but it’s a bit softer, so perhaps used a bit more. The stitching on the handles is slightly thicker than the first bag, and it has the key but did not come with the box, dust bag or ribbon.

So I guess my question is - is it worth spending $1k more for the first bag? I don’t know a lot about Hermes leather and the preferred years. I’m assuming that the second bag is softer because it has been used more, but is it possible that it’s just a difference in the leather? Is it more desirable to have softer leather? I want to use this bag for many years to come and want to make the right decision!

Thank you!

Stamp issue

Hi, so I just bought this used on Poshmark. I got a deal on it because it had some wear but I wanted a pretty bag I didn’t baby lol! First thing I did was get it authenticated. Authentic Detective and POIZON both say it’s fine. But the stamp is horrible. Like so so so so awful. Would you get it check by a different company? Or is this the norm for pebbled leather stamps? Someone mentioned it could be sloppy because it’s pebbled…not looking for an authentication for you all lol, I have a COA already saying it’s authentic, I’m honestly wondering if this is normal???

Love Ring vs Wedding Love Ring Sizing Difference

*I did a search and could not find this, but please delete if already posted somewhere*
I tried on a ring that is the same width as a Love ring for my pinky and determined that I would be a size 4. I am wondering if I were to decide upon a wedding Love ring instead if I should stick to a 4 or should I size down to a 3.75?
I haven’t decided yet if I am getting a Love or a wedding Love yet.
Sadly I am nowhere near a Cartier so I am unable to try on in a boutique.
Would love everyone’s input, thank you so much! IMG_8600.webp
