Procedure(s):
Mini Facelift (V-Lift), Lateral Brow Lift, Neck/Chin Liposuction
Update 1: Pre-Op to Procedure Experience
• The front office was disorganized from the start. I’m an out-of-town patient, and they should’ve had systems in place to manage virtual consults and timely paperwork. I never received a hard copy of my surgical consent forms and had surgery without signing anything — a massive liability and red flag.
• They only gave me 2 business days to fill out prescriptions, which had to be picked up in person. I was traveling and nearly missed my meds. Thankfully, my friend rushed to a 24-hour CVS at 5am the day of my surgery. Otherwise, I would've had no medication.
• Nobody showed compassion or care. The front desk staff were cold and mechanical. It felt like a plastic surgery assembly line. The only thing they were quick about was taking my credit card.
• I emailed and left voicemails using the address listed on their website (
[email protected]) — which they had been using to communicate with me — and received no reply. When I finally called, Jane told me I emailed “the wrong address.” It’s like they can’t get anything right.
Update 2: Day 1 to 2 Weeks Post-Op
• On Day 2, they forgot about my scheduled FaceTime appointment to remove my head wrap. I waited 15 minutes and had to call the office myself. Liz eventually FaceTimed me and seemed flustered.
• I was never given proper post-op instructions. I had to Google everything — from when to apply scar cream to how to manage swelling.
• When I went in for my 2-week post-op visit, I was told I'd get a compression garment, but they "forgot" and then said, “Oh, we’re going to change that.”
• The assistant Nicki rushed me out. She didn’t ask how I was doing or offer any reassurance. I was visibly anxious and upset, and no one cared.
• I brought up my concerns about how distorted my face looked — squinty eyes, harsh jawline, pulled expression — and Dr. Vinas completely dismissed me. He gaslit me, saying, “No, your eyes didn’t change.” I was shocked. It was obvious they did.
Update 3: Weeks 3 to 5
• My face continued to look deformed — my jawline was unnaturally straight and pulled, my eyes looked altered, and my ears protruded unnaturally. I still looked alien-like and deeply regretted the decision.
• The hairline incisions were done carelessly. They are NOT hidden at all — they’re placed in front of the hairline and are extremely obvious. Worse, Dr. Vinas made no effort to preserve existing hair. I was left with broken hair and bald spots along the incision line. I now have both terrible scars and hair loss. I cry almost every day looking in the mirror.
• About one month post-op, I left a voicemail and emailed the office with some questions. No one responded. Meanwhile, I saw them posting almost daily on Instagram — which felt like a slap in the face. I felt totally neglected.
Scarring & Shape Outcome
• The incision lines inside the tragus were clean, but the rest were a disaster. The “V” shape marketing gimmick is pure nonsense — it left me with awkward, obvious scarring at my hairline. There is no aesthetic benefit, and the result is extremely unnatural.
• I now have visible scars, bald patches, facial distortion, and no support.
Staff & Aftercare
• The staff clearly lacked basic medical training and are uneducated- they walk around in scrubs but I would be surprised if they even graduated high school. They didn’t know when I should start scar cream or how to advise me on normal healing timelines.
• After surgery, I was left alone in the waiting room. Nicki kept asking when my ride was arriving, clearly trying to rush me out. Not a single person asked how I felt or offered a word of support.
• Dr. Vinas never followed up. He didn’t give me proper post-op guidance and clearly didn’t care about my outcome.
General Office Experience
• They forgot multiple appointments. I was ghosted on FaceTime check-ins and never received timely callbacks, even after being told I would.
• I asked for my medical records and sent the request via the same email we’d used to correspond. Days later, when I called, they claimed I emailed the wrong address (again, the one listed on their website). I finally received my records but it was missing glaring details and it eas clear they had to scramble to create them only because I asked for it.
• If you’re considering surgery here, I urge you to search “Dr. Luis Vinas lawsuits” on Google. He has been involved in malpractice suits and even a bankruptcy case. Someone has even died after a procedure he performed. You can verify complaints by looking him up on the Florida Board of Medicine website. There is even a Facebook forum where others have commented about his poor reputation in the Palm Beach area.
Better Alternatives
So far, the best experiences I’ve had (in terms of staff, guidance, professionalism, and compassion) have been with Dr. Jean-Paul Azzi and Dr. Avron Lipschitz. The contrast in care is night and day and I'm not even a patient.
Final Thoughts
This has been the most traumatic experience of my life. I feel disfigured, ignored, and heartbroken. I’ve spoken to top surgeons in West Palm Beach, and every single one said I need revision surgery and expressed concern about how badly my procedure was done, especially the ridiculous V-shape incision scarring.
If anyone would like to speak to me directly, I’m happy to give a more detailed account of my experience so you know what you might be getting into. I have emails, photos, and paperwork to back up everything I’ve shared. I know Dr. Vinas’ team works hard to get negative reviews removed, but I’m sharing this to potentially save someone else from the pain I’m going through.
