Have you seen this before?

Hi! I bought a preloved speedy B 25 damier azur. The bag has a very strong perfumy smell especially on the vachetta. I added pics up it has splotchy areas on the vachetta and on tue side straps almost looks like some liquid ran down and left and "v" mark. This makes the handles and vachette not as smooth as my other speedys. I am wondering is this be because someone sprayed appleguard or something similar on it? I am wondering what this could be to cause these marks. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

What do you do when one nail is much shorter?

How do you deal with your nails if one breaks or splits off very short (such as to the quick)? Do you keep all your other nails the length they are and let the broken one slowly catch up? Or do you file your nails down a little (or a lot) so the catching up part takes a shorter amount of time and the difference in length isn’t so great?

Lip Glosses or Lip Oils That Will Not Change the Color of My Lipstick

I am looking for suggestions of lip gloss or the new lip oils that will not change the color of my lipstick. I know there a few lower tiered ones in drug stores, box stores, etc. I am looking some decent ones that will not change the color though. The made them at one time, but most of the times they do change the color lately. Some just a little. I would like to have one though that that is just a clear gloss. Does anybody know of one or is there one that you use that you would recommend? Admittedly, I have become a little frustrated lately when my lip color is exactly like I want it then, a slight shade change can make a difference. Thanks if anybody knows of one.

VCA perlee diamond bracelet

Hi VCA lovers!

I am considering purchasing the perlee diamond bracelet (single row) in gold and curious as to what people think? I am aware that there are rumours of it being discontinued.
I think it will be very versatile and makes a statement without being too flashy. The yellow gold will suit my skin tone the best, but admittedly the diamonds don’t pop that much because of the double row of gold pearls.
What do people think of it on my wrist? I would either wear it on its own or with another gold bangle

Has anyone got this bracelet already and can give me their thoughts?

Thanks 🙏

Merino Wool or Cotton Cardigans

I'm in the market for a nice high end cardigan. I don't have any cardis in my wardrobe, but would like to add one since they seem easy to pair with most business casual outfits. Thom Browne has both wool and cotton versions at a slightly different price. Curious to know what everyone's thoughts are on cotton vs. merino wool for cardis before I take the plunge. :flowers:

Exchanging QBs and non-QBs (from overseas) in the US

Hi all,

I am creating this new thread to discuss rules/policies related to exchanging quota bags (QBs) and non-quota bags (non-QBs) in the US boutiques that were originally purchased outside the US boutiques.

Let me start with my recent case: I was in Asia in the past 2 weeks. There, I did not spend any in the stores, and was still offered decent bags (i.e., Birkin 50 gold/phw and C18 dancing flowers multiple times [red and black]) as a walk-in client. While I did not purchase any of these, I now have a second thought of "what if I bought them and exchange them in the US for the bag specs I want...?"

What are the rules/policies for exchanging QBs and non-QBs in the US stores when one bought these outside the US?

Correct me if I am wrong, but here are some rules/policies in the US stores:
- Bag exchanges are for bags only. One cannot exchange bags for other items that are not leather bags.
- One must be cautious that small leather goods and luggage bags are not considered "bags."
- Bag exchanges must occur on the same day, and no store credit will be allowed. (I am not sure if it is true...?)
- If the QB is exchanged for another QB in the US store, then 1 of "2 QBs a year" is gone automatically in the US.

If I purchase the B50 in Asia, can I exchange it to B35 (or B25) AND C24 (after adjusting for prices) in the US store, without much hassle, in theory? What are the potential caveats? Thank you in advance!

"Loro piana" instagram scam

Just a warning to be careful about instagram scams.
An ad popped up seemingly from Loro piana offering their popular summer charm sandals and mules for a ridiculously low price.
I was shocked and curious since even the full price listed was less than what LP's website usually lists.
So I checked their website directly and the website name is different than the instagram page; the shoes are not listed for that low price and finally if you look very closely where the sole meets the shoe you can see differences.

But they're very similar and the logo looks so close, it's easy to get scammed.

Please check carefully.
The blue on the right is the direct Loro Piana, the black on the left is from Instagram.

What luxury brands still use leather lining?

So I don't have a huge luxury collection, but I found a much loved Fendi while thrifting a few years back. It's a canvas crossbody with THE most amazing butter leather interior I have ever felt and zippers that feel like they are greased they are so smooth. Does anyone make anything like that anymore? The bag is pretty well used, but a favorite.

Checkbook Covers

I have noticed that there are a growing number of people locally with whom I do business that charge a surcharge for using a card, but will take a personal check. I thought checks were obsolete?!? It got me wondering if designers will reissue checkbook covers or if the pre-loved market or generic is the only way to go.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Love the Marc Jacobs the Tote bag

I decided to wonder over to Marc Jacobs after being a bit disillusioned with the higher end designers. The quality was not all that, handbags designed to be used for a couple of hours and put back in the dustbag, not a real workhorse. So I bought the Marc Jacobs The Tote handbag in small which is perfect for me, it does not cease to impress. The quality is great, just as good as my Dior and Miu Miu bags but more solidly built and a fraction of the price. Love the zip on the top, which means when I get into my car and put it on the passenger seat, the contents do not fall out if I turn a corner or go round a roundabout. It also deters potential pickpockets, it is difficult for them to just dip their hand in.

How to upcycle a damaged Chanel

I have a question for those that are creative. I purchased a vintage Chanel bag from this lady who painted a picture on the bag. She said that she was cray cray for doing it but I took it off her hands for $50. The thing is I don't care about resell or anything like that and I am creative myself so I kind of understood but not fully of why she did it. Here is the dilemma. The paint on the bag is peeling. I don't know anything about painting handbags or upcycling. What would you do in this scenario? The paint on the bag is hard and peeling in some places. Its not a small picture its the entire bag. Thanks for your input.

My first Le city bag

I have a sentimental value of this bag. When I found out about this bag back in early 2000s, I couldn't afford it. Financially and mentally, I had no capacity getting something that I like. When I found out that they discontinued the bag, I didn't understand why, cause it is just THE bag for me and for many others. Much later, when I became more stable in many ways, I started my bag collection. I got neo classic mini bag in 2022, hoping this would be the reminiscent of the motorcycle bag. When I got it, I was a bit disappointed because it just looks similar but it didn't really have the feeling. I still love the mini bag, though. Today, I got my white Le City medium bag and had really mixed feeling. It is just a bag but it is not just a bag at the same time. I am just overwhelmed and share some story and the picture of my new bag.
