I was only going by what Vlad said in his e-mail to me, but yeah, if he wants to elaborate, he will.

What happened was there was about 2 dozen IP addresses that were generating a suspiciously large amount of server requests in a short amount of time, generating a high server load, causing our site's response time to increase and eventually preventing it from responding at all. In order to test the behavior our tech's blocked a range of IP addresses and were monitoring the server loads over the past day or so. For now we have unbanned these IP's and will continue to monitor our servers in order to prevent any further downtime.
