^I agree with Hello. My chamonix Birkin hasn't had a problem with scratching (at all) or the occasional shower (wiped off, of course!) - it's hardier than you think! My only warning would be: mind the corners! Try not to rub the colour off, because when they re-colour chamonix, it doesn't "take" very well, and quickly rubs off again.
