Royalty & their Jewelry

Here is a necklace in diamonds and emeralds designed by Boucheron for the Maharajah of Patiala. In 1928, the king walked into Boucheron's Place Vendome flagship with 7,571 diamonds, 1,432 emeralds, and countless other precious stones, to commission 149 jewellery pieces in a single day.

Till today, this has been the most incredible order ever placed at Boucheron.

A rare, exotic portrait of Maharani Lakshmi Bayi of Travancore. Maharani possessed an unparalleled collection of state jewels. In this portrait, she displays her splendor around her wrist with a channel-set emerald and cut-diamond bangle interspersed with Burma rubies. The state of Kerala is matriarchal Society and Maharani's could rule the state .It's sad there is not a proper portraits/pictures of Maharani's of Kerala
^I love burmese rubies! it's wonderful to hear that Kerala has such historical respect for women.

Maharaja Yadavinder Singh of Patyala
The entire jewels in this picture is created by cartier

The Patyala necklace is considered as the most most spectacular piece of platinum jewellery ever created. It took Cartier almost three years to make the original necklace, which looked so exquisite that they sought the Maharaja’s permission to display it before sending it to India.
^that necklace is a work of art! I wish we had more pictures (I know you said indian royalty didn't take many pictures). his "crown" is fabulous too.

The Patiala Lovers Knot Tiara. Worn by Maharani Mahindar Kaur of Patiala.
^how beautiful! she looks lovely in that vivid shade of green.
