Oh thank you Papertiger! Wow, 2005?! I would NEVER have thought it was THAT old! I'm amazed! It even came with the Gucci retail tag, booklet, leather sample and dust bag. The retail price section was removed though. The bag held up very well. The inside is immaculate. I did notice when I rub lightly on the bag with my hand that there are a few follicles that are barely lifting up. Not many at all and when looking at it, you do not notice. There are some on the side edges. What color did you purchase? Do you still have yours? If it's a different color I would love to see it if youi don't mind sharing.

It's olive green. It's...somewhere

@Cassey011 thank you! Yes this does help. Gosh I hope the person that had this bag before me took care of it! Lol. I bought it online from a luxe consignment reseller boutique. From the pics I can see darker areas of pigment throughout the bag but that looks like part of the beauty of the skin.l vs damage but I won't know for sure until I see it in person. I will look into purchasing an exotic skin leather, perhaps Amazon so I can have it here to use when the bag arrives. Do you think using a gentle non alcoholic baby wipe is ok to initially just wipe the bag down and then just go over it with a dry soft towel before using conditioner? I know you said do not get it wet, but is slightly damp ok? Hahaha! Thank you again for your help! How about a water repellent? Is that a no no?
Hey so sorry for this late reply.
I'm glad to hear that my previous response was helpful to you! It's always exciting to receive a new bag, especially when it comes from a luxe consignment reseller boutique. While I can't guarantee how the previous owner took care of the bag, darker areas of pigment on exotic skin can indeed be a natural part of its beauty rather than damage.

When it comes to cleaning your bag, it's generally recommended to be cautious with exotic skins. Using a gentle, non-alcoholic baby wipe to wipe down the bag initially should be fine, as long as you're careful not to saturate the skin. Afterward, you can go over it with a dry, soft towel to remove any excess moisture.

As for using conditioner, it's best to consult the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer or a professional who specializes in exotic skin care. They will have the expertise to guide you on the most suitable products and methods for conditioning the particular type of exotic skin your bag is made of.

Regarding water repellents, it's generally advisable to avoid using them on exotic skins, as they can potentially alter the appearance or texture of the skin. It's better to consult with an expert or the manufacturer to ensure you're taking the appropriate steps to care for your bag without causing any unintended damage.

Enjoy your new bag, and I hope it brings you much joy and satisfaction!

Hello everyone. For those that are interested and have been waiting for pics on my (new to me) Gucci Ostrich Bouvier "Jackie" bag, here it is! Sorry for the delay! First impression: Stunning! I'm so happy I pulled the trigger before someone else did! It's pretty large, and because I have gotten accustomed to bringing less items with me, I don't have much to put in this bag. Lol. I bought it for the look vs the need a large bag. NO REGRETS! Does anyone know what year this bag was released? I'm curious to know how old this bag actually is. Thank you!
