your perfectly fine. patina champ was a funny post long ago it was just a funny catchy phrase like saying my bags are the oldest but the most Beautiful lol. some how everyone liked it and it stuck. now about the sandpaper. I'm no expert but my SA had me try it. I only did it cause I thought well if the oil doesnt come out I will need to replace the handles anyway. I was quite surprised but it did nothing to the finish and it's been quite a few years since  also the internet is full of different advice . so to say it shouldn't be on the internet lol about 99.9% of crap on the internet shouldn't be their. start with the cinnamon challange. just cause it's out their doesnt mean I'm gonna do it. if I look up how to remove scratches from my sunglasses one may suggest baking soda it's my choice if I do it and my sunglasses turn into a pear shape.

Fair enough!

And it sort of gives me the rage that a CS would tell anyone this. I mean OBVIOUSLY sandpaper will work, but it's the future impact that worries me.

Anyhoo, thanks for replying. Love your bags!

How old are your speedy and keepall ? They are nice but getting really dark imo. I like mine a to maintain a lighter honey color . thank u for all the pics. You have alot of nice bags:smile:
Thank you. The personalized Speedy 40 is 5 years old (and yes the AppleGuard slows the patina process). The Vintage Speedy 40 is 29 years old, and the honey color patina is perfect for a bag of that age. Also, my Cabas Alto and Mono and DE Cabas Mezzo are discontinued styles and all are in excellent condition. The Keepall is also a Vintage piece and that is the natural color of the leather trim, and I prefer Vintage pieces because the canvas is thicker and the patina on a Vintage piece that is 25 plus years old is not expected to be light. The Mono NF GM is the older model with the different interior (see pic), and also is not dark imo. I enjoy all of my bags regardless of the stage of the patina, and I keep them conditioned to prevent the leather/vachetta from drying out over time, which also can lead to possible cracking. As I said before, it works for me! :P

I wouldn't recommend baby wipes for anything why would you use that when you can just use a soft damp cloth. Also if we are talking about the same thing that is coated leather you don't need to condition it. At least I wouldn't. ;)

Thanks for your response...just to clarify, I don't use baby wipes on vachetta. I actually don't own anything with vachetta. I have read several times on this forum, people have said they wipe down DE handles and/or canvas with baby wipes. Sometimes us parents have baby wipes on-hand and don't have a soft cloth. For example, sit canvas down accidentally in a sticky drink and baby wipes are in the car (most restroom towels are scratchy so would go to car first...my kids are way past being babies but ever since they were babies, baby wipes come in handy for many things so always seem to have some stashed in the car...mainly for messy teenager and husband LOL). I don't use them often and yes, I do agree when home, a soft damp cloth would always be best. Another reason I avoid vachetta like the plague. My OCD-ness couldn't handle it. Plus I like to buy bags and use them immediately so Patina Champ method wouldn't work for me (even though I will also agree, your method would be one I would use if my OCD would let up).
