they 40 % silk, 60 % cashmere. says dry clean only on them, but i went for it. the colour and lustre is the same; they look perfect. And clean! (wouldn't wring when dry, though, just hang'em up soaking wet. only took 2 hrs to drip completely dry.
did you use a mesh bag? what kind of soap did you use? glad it worked out so well.

wow I would never expect that plus my SA told me as I bought my monogram shawl don't wash it in the machine. another costumer did that and the shawl looks like a tea towel after that. Because of that device I would never ever do that but congrats to you ;)

I have washed Hermes cashmere shawls, silk scarves in my machine on hand wash for years, it gets really clean and feels soft and nice, I use special sensitive laundry soap

I'm sorry for the necroposting, but I would like to thank you for this thread!

I gave my LV monogram shine shawl for a dry cleaning, but they couldn't completely remove the coffee stains. Since the shawl has already being ruined, I was wondering if I can wash it in the washing machine for the stains to come off and I found this thread.

So I did it! I washed the shawl with the cold water on "silk" regimen in my waching machine with the liquid detergent (I didn't buy a special one for this occasion) with no spinning and it worked! My shawl has been saved! (and my money too, since I'm no longer taking it for a dry cleaning ever again:biggrin:)
